Foundation Room House of Blues Chicago Ratings and Reviews
We attended a comedy show in the Foundation Room. The space is absolutely stunning and the decor is amazing. I originally set a table reservation so that we could see the show. Upon confirming, I found that the reservation was for the dining room instead. The concierge was very accommodating to change the reservation to the Foundation Room. The food was pretty good as well. There were small plates versus full dinners but still pretty good. The servers were also very attentive. The music was also awesome!!! Overall we had a great time and I would definitely return soon and recommend it.
We chose not to eat here. I made reservations as a part of the concert that we were going to see. I thought it was the restaurant at House of Blues. I felt like this might have been some sort of directed advertising gone wrong. We didn't realize there was another restaurant at the House of Blues. When we looked at the menu while ing the Foundation room, we were very disappointed. We are vegetarian. We asked the waitress and were told two choices we had available were $26 cauliflower dish or a side dish of macaroni and cheese. If a restaurant is trying to set it self apart, be worldly and cater to an elite crowd then consideration for a larger range of meal options would be my number one suggestion.
We thoroughly enjoyed the total dining experience. We made alterations to the menu item we ordered and were accommodated graciously. the ambience was awesome. the food was superb. the service was top-notch. A lovely experience. Can't wait to return to Chicago again and visit you all.
The restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday night and the bread was stale. The meals however, were incredibly delicious and well cooked, even though the portions were tiny and very expensive. The lounge upstairs was a lot more fun: more people, great show, amazing, unique ambience, reasonably priced drinks.
I came for a concert, the concert was amazing. There was a mixup with my meal/drink purchase. But once I brought it to management attention they were quick to accommodate and fix the problem. I would definitely go back. Though the foundation room is quite pricey and very beautiful, HOB does have a regular restaurant with more reasonable prices.
House of Blues was closed for a private event the evening of the reservation. There was no type of notice on the website and no one could be reached by phone. Guests did not find out until they arrived at the restaurant and were turned away. This is a problem that needs to be corrected so that it doesnt happen to other guests.
Geri (waitress sp? ) was extremely pleasant and went out of her way to make our party comfortable and private. Venue was perfect for friends to catchup on old times. . Appetizers OK, entrees (pork chop, steaks) excellent! Creme Brule total disappointment... Stale like it was 3 days old. Wine list decent but pricey.
The Foundation Dining Room is definitely worth a repeat visit. The service, cocktails and food were good. Since I don't believe a major concert was going on during that time the dining room was sparse. If you have time after dinner the lounge may be an option to chill and have more cocktails
This is a great date place with Morrocan tented booths. The Bohemian tapestries on the wall, and the high ornate ceiling continues down stairs. The food is delicious but a bit pricey for what it is. My date had a very pricey bowl of curry, and my BBQ spare ribs were placed on a smear of potato. Appetizer, dinner & drinks will run about $75 per person not including tip. The bar and band afterward are great.
We have been to many steak houses in Chicago and the Foundation Room has had the BEST filet yet. The whole meal was fantastic along with the décor being very eclectic. The service from Sam was fabulous. We will be going back on our next visit to Chicago and so should you. Also, ask for a tour of the whole Foundation Room.....you will not be disappointed if they can work it in!!
Our server, Jerri, was great! We were seated upstairs on floor 3 in a private room. We had no idea there was a dress code. We had just come off a boat and the men in our party had on shorts. The host was blatantly obvious about our apparent inappropriate attire. It definitely could have been handled more discretely. Our server was so badass and made us feel comfortable despite the dress code mishap.
