Foundation Restaurant and Bar
Service was great, very attentive. Food was delicious and waiter honored happy hour prices prior to happy hour. We had a blast and my 3 year old loved her cheeseburger.
The food and service were excellent! The lighting and noise level were a little high for a romantic date.
Outstanding food, great service. Too noisy, there were 3 blonde ladies who were kind of destructive, and not respectful to others
We had a very nice meal. Jack was our waiter, he was super friendly and very knowledgeable. We will definitely come back.
Great food and perfect location when catching a concert or game at Golden 1 Center. We were able to get in and out pretty quickly yet enjoyed a relaxing and delicious meal. Looking forward to returning.
This was my first time at the Foundation. It was prior to a Kings basketball game so it was a bit time sensitive. We had a reservation and we were seated promptly. The server was great and efficient. The food was excellent. All four of us were very happy with the whole experience and look forward to coming back
Great meal! They have returned to their quality they used to have. They have stepped up their game! Very enjoyable!
It was before a big event so they were slammed but....we ordered drinks, waiter came back 10 min later said bar was slammed it was going to be a bit. 5 min later one drink came, then a couple of minutes later 2 other drinks came, then a few minutes later the last drink. We ordered apps & dinner at the same time. Took a long time for apps to come out but then we waited 40 minutes for our dinners to come! That was way too long. We basically had to ask for the check & to go boxes when they dropped the food. Might try again if no event is going on.
We had a quick business lunch between meetings. We were warmly greeted, had a waiter who was patient and attentive. The only note I would make is we had the fish tacos. The fish came under a pile of delicious cabbage slaw that was dressed with a vinaigrette. By the time the tacos got to us the breading on the fish was soggy as was the tortilla. Would be better to put fish on top of slaw to avoid all this issue.
Very nice restaurant. Waitress kept taking happy hour menu 🥴
Really enjoyed my food and service. Tree (hope I spelled your name correctly) was wonderfully pleasant and sweet.
It was my daughter's 30th birthday celebration . . . . 12 of us total . . . .GREAT service and food!!!!!
Food was very good but service was not. Offered a special Restaurant Week menu and it took forever to get our salad. They brought the dessert out without taking away our main course plates.
6 of us tried the Dine Downtown menu. Waiter recommended the artichoke 1st course but they were dry and tough without much to eat. Not that flavorful either and on n their regular menu however the Korean short rib skewers with slaw were delicious.
Braised short ribs with mashed potato and baby carrots were really tasty. The pork loin with maple balsamic glaze was very nice if you like a sweeter seasoning.
Brownie dessert was nice. They ran out of cheesecake though so we were given other options to choose from which was nice.
We would go back.
Went there for my husbands birthday, and ordered off the “Dine Downtown” menu. It was fantastic! Our server and the other staff were so attentive and friendly. Would definitely go there again!
The food was uneven. Some servings very good others overcooked and tasteless. Sorry but overall a disappointing experience.
Upon walking into The Foundation it immediately felt welcoming. All the staff were friendly and looked like they enjoyed being there. There was no pressure put on us to hurry to order. Our waiter, Jack, was excellent and answered all our questions without hesitation. He was attentive to us when he noticed our beverages were low, and was polite when asking if we were ready to order. I can’t wait to go again! The 3 of us talked about needing to return soon! The menu is awesome! I highly recommend giving it a try, you won’t be sorry, and like me, you’ll wonder what took you so long to try it out!!
Our server was amazing and the hospitality was wonderful.
Meat and potatoes restaurant, OK classic meals, not good if looking for interesting or outstanding food. Safe option for business meal. Large portions but For me, was overpriced for value.
Dine Downtown Sacramento three course dinner. Service was outstanding. Korean Short ribs were cooked right and tasted good. Carrots were large and nearly raw. They were supposed to be baby carrots and cooked. Potatoes were lumpy and not thoroughly cooked. Maker's Mark Manhattan cocktail was excellent. I'll go again, but only for drinks.
Evening downtown to see Elton John and Sacaramento Food week. Very nice server. Menu selection was not wowing but nice. Artichoke was tough not cooked enough. Pork chop flavorful but dry. Desert menu cheese cake was standard. Chocolate brownie needed ice cream. Well organized and attentive service.
We always make a reservation before an event at Golden 1 Center. The food and service is always the best!
Restaurant was cold on a rainy windy night. Manager refused to turn off overhead fans even though customers were wearing their coats. Eventually, he turned off the fans, but soon turned on the air conditioning. We were refused a four top away from the door, because it was reserved. An hour later the table along with several others remained empty. We were seated in the bar area, instead. The grilled salmon, when it finally arrived was thin, too well charred and cold, and the vegetables overcooked, also cold. The short ribs, however, were tasty and worth eating. The salmon was returned for the short ribs. The cheese cake and the chocolate brownie cake could have come from Costco or Sam's club, it was uninspiring. The chocolate syrup on the brownie was watery. Overall, it was a disappointing Dine and Wine experience. Maybe their lunch fare is better. The positive note: our server was delightful,
Nothing special , the short ribs were ok, could have been better flavored. The desserts were not very imaginative and didn’t taste all that good for the price. Waiter was very busy, hard to get his attention.
We visited during the January dine out Sacramento time. It seems liked the staff didn't have all the processes in place, but, the food was food.
Loved the salmon blt sandwich! Great service too. Location is great as it's close to the Golden 1 Center. Love to eat there before attending events there.
Great food and wine! Everything on the menu is delicious!
I visited because of Dine Downtown. They had 4 options for the entree. The food was great and the service was excellent!
Went to Dine Downtown. Had the artichoke appetizer, braised beef and apple crisp for dessert. All excellent.
Definitely a do again!
The food and service were amazing. Our waitress Tree(?) was very nice.
Dine Downtown promotion. Very impressed.
Great spot to catch a drink before the Kings game. Unfortunately they took food off the Happy Hour Menu before a game or event at Golden 1. Poor desision. You should reward patrons attending your establishment before the Kings game at least until 6pm?
Excellent and timely service. Good good with variety of cuisine, quantity and price on menu. Very convenient to Golden 1 Arena.
Great for dining before an event at the Golden 1 Center
Food was great as always but the waiter seemed to be preoccupied. We didn't get as much attention as I would have hoped. Drinks sat empty a couple of times. Other than that it was perfect.
Went there for a special occasion and when we walked in there were two people at the front. One welcomed us while the other (maybe the manager or hostess?) continued to slouch over and didn't acknolwedge us. When the person who greeted us asked the other person who was slouched over where she should seat us, she replied after scanning... "table 22 i guess" . When we got seated, we didn't get any water until we asked and then when the server finally she came she asked us what we wanted for drinks and then realized we didnt even have a drink menu. Service was poor which could be because I was expecting more and frankly, I really appreciate great service - especially if you're going out for a special night. Food was not hot when it arrived and lacked flavor. I would not recommend this place for special occasions. Maybe happy hour if service isn't something you need.
