Making a difference in the community and being a partner to drive change is fundamental tour philosophy.
Reservations are accepted and spontaneous dining is encouraged! Much of our dining room is held open for walk-ins. Please feel free to walk-in anytime.
Food, service and ambiance were excellent. Perfect birthday celebration.
We particularly enjoyed the carrot appetizer, but found the curried chicken flatbread to be too spicy to eat much of. The steak dish was acceptable, but not great. Our very attentive and helpful server suggested the apple tart for dessert and that was a very good finish to the meal. The apples were perfectly cooked and seasoned delicately. I would definitely return to Found for the carrot appetizer and apple pie. I’m also quite fond of the orange carpet on the wall. Quite beautiful.
Some of the coolest decor I've ever seen in a restaurant. Very friendly staff & delicious food. Great experience & we will be back!
Inattentive service. Food was mediocre and overpriced. This place is a disappointment.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent!
Birthday dinner for a friend
The chicken wings were grossly undercooked and substantially inedible. Other than that the food and service were good and the ambiance was fine
Third time at Found and the food is consistently delicious. Service is polite and attentive without being intrusive. We live in the neighborhood and will continue to come here--love this place! The flatbreads are particularly creative and last night--butternut squash pasta was divine.
Friendsgiving get together. My vegan friend wanted to try the butternut squash pasta. Had the hummus flat bread- needed to put salt and the veggies on top though fresh- needed something bright to bring out flavors. Capers were nice touch. My friend enjoyed her pasta. The service was not what I was expecting. Have eaten here a few times before. I understand the “small plate” concept and getting food out as it comes, but our server did not check in so much- had to flag her down more than I would like and she was also had table next to us. Our drinks took about 15 min and my friend and her son got their entree in a usual time, but my son and my salmon took about 20 min. more. The salmon was really good- well prepared and loved the creamed corn and the grapes. Offered free dessert for the late entrees, then was charged for it . Had to remind staff of the offer for free dessert. I do enjoy the food here and forgive the late entrees and understand that things can get busy, communication and attention go a long way to help with the dining experience.
The service was exemplary! Fabulous food and atmosphere! Great place!
Our server was condescending and judgmental. After serving our plates to us, she told the table next to us that my daughter’s selection was not recommended, that it wasn’t very good, but the restaurant kept it on the menu because it was popular - not the kind of thing you want to hear just before starting your meal. I don’t think the wait staff should be quite so critical of the menu choices!
dee- can you please tell me when you dined, if you had a reservation what name it was under and if you didnt have a reservation can you please tell what day and date you dined apprx and where you were seated in the restaurant? this is not the way our team is supposed to act. very disconcerting. thank you for letting me know. amy morton, the owner
Unique choices farm to table deliciousness!!
Thank you so much Hilary! So happy you enjoyed your experience!
Food was good as was service and ambiance. Did not like the small playe concept. Over priced for what you get. This is not act like a tapas bar. Should serve regular entrees
My husband and I had lunch at Found celebrating our anniversary. We were warmly greeted upon arrival with "Happy Anniversary!" and were congratulated by each staff member we encountered. What attention to detail! On top of this, the food and cocktails we ordered were amazing. Needless to say, we will return when in the Evanston area.
Thank you so much Margaret! We are thrilled you had a outstanding Anniversary! Cheers!!
Lovely dinner. The chef is really on his game and the staff seems to really be proud to work there! Will go back!
Thank you so much Tedd! Can't wait for you to visit again soon!
Lovely, eclectic interior and wonderful service. I had the avocado toast, which was delicious. My friends commented that their meals were either too spicy or bland, unfortunately. The only odd thing was that there was a liquor tax (13%). I frequently patron Evanston and have not seen that charge before.
Cute space. Good service. Food sub par. Lam meatballs were tough and dry. Elote, was just corn on the cob. Muscles were fishy. Strawberry cake was so tough you needed fork and knife.
Amazing meals and the concept was amazing
I had two relatives come to town, visiting from Amsterdam and I chose Found. We were all thrilled with the quality of food, the warm atmosphere, and excellent service. from the delicious tomato soup, to chicken sandwich, ending with the pot de creme, yum!!! I will be back to sample other menu items.
Thank you Jane for your review! We love that you enjoyed your Lunch with your relatives!
I have been to Found Kitchen many times for lunch and dinner over the past several years and have always enjoyed myself. This time, however, there was nothing good about the visit. The food -- 4 shared dishes in total were all mediocre at best. One was tasteless, one too tart with vinegar, one odd tasting, and the pork dish was so tough I couldn't even cut some pieces. The service was terrible. Our server was rude several times. He rushed us. He leaned over one of our party to look at something, nearly touching her head. He came over after dinner and wiped the table off with his hands! He told us to pay up because his shift was ending, even though the restaurant didn't close for 45 minutes. And, both he and the greeter were slovenly dressed. It was a totally disappointing evening.
Fantastic place. Totally went above and beyond.
Thank you so much! We are so happy you enjoyed your experience!
I had made an advance reservation and arrived to find only a high table available. The solution of bar chairs worked (older group) but I would have much preferred traditional height table. I also mentioned that it was a birthday celebration. Our server was spotty with attention to our table and often felt like she was pushing alcohol. She brought a surprise donut to the table with a candle which was really nice but then I was charged for the donut. Not the $3.00 cost but the fact that it was a surprise seemingly from management for fun, so the charge seemed very odd.
Hello NinaTN, I am so sorry you had such a disappointing experience at found. clearly we weren't following policy as anyone who books a reservation is supposed to have a “traditional” table as opposed to bar height or couch. and the issue with being brought something you didn't order and then being charged for it is clearly wrong. Can you please tell me when you were in and the name of your reservation so I can look into this more thoroughly Thank you Amy Morton
This was my favorite spot in Evanston for years... but was so sad to experience this night. The food needs a reboot. It’s been basically the same offerings for a very long time. The chicken wings were of almost grotesque size for dining in public and we were not the only table within earshot that said so. Ambiance is great. Cocktails are divine. Music makes me happy. I’ll always come back here, but will probably be sticking to cocktails and wine.
We have been to Found Kitchen & Social House numerous times and consistently have wonderful meals. We also have hosted two showers there. Excellent service, food, and ambience. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Thank you for your review! We look forward to serving more parties for you in the future!!
For the money, the servings were very small. And, while I understand the concept of sharing plates, the food on the plate should be easily share-able and I didn't feel that what we ordered was.
And when I spend the kind of money I spent on this meal, I don't appreciate being presented the check while we are eating dessert and finishing our drinks. (And,subsequently, the server checking to see if we had signed off on the bill.)
It was also too noisy for our party to visit.
Funky, yet elegant. Music too loud. Decor is hip and attractive. The environment is comfortable. Great place for a drink and Nosh.
Thank you Patrizia! So happy you enjoyed your meal and felt so comfortable!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience Sunday evening. The food was delicious, and service was genuinely friendly, and welcoming. Look forward to dining there again.
Thank you so much! We can wait to see you again soon!
Food is a bit pricy given its portion. Everything else is great.
Thank you Nuken for your review!! Glad you enjoyed!
I had always been for dinner but never brunch. I went with a friend and everything was delicious. I enjoyed the baby greens with steak added. My friend liked the farm plate. The bloody Mary’s had horseradish in them which was very unique.
Thank you for joining us for Brunch, were so happy you loved it!
Limited menu and limited variety. Hot soup came cold. Burger very greasy.
Great space and staff. Decor and ambiance was quaint and warm. Our waitress Amber was amazing and suggested just the right plates.
Thank you Araceli! So happy you enjoyed our restaurant and service!
It was great! Wonderful service and made a special effort to give us some goodies for a bday dinner.
We had such a lovely meal . The server was friendly and knowledgeable. Portions were on the smaller side but the food was delicious. Couldn’t have been a better place for a group of us to catch up and enjoy a great meal.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
We went for brunch, all the food was delish. We got the fried chicken and Johnny cakes, avocado toast, fingerling potatoes and a kids breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. The fried chicken was boneless chicken thighs, so flavorful!
Smallest pour of wine and expensive. Food was less than average
Found has maintained top standards on everything from food to service and that keeps me coming back when I have a reason to dine.
We had a party of 7 for a birthday dinner and every step of it went perfectly. Service was witty, fun, and quick - with good reccos.
We enjoyed chatting with Ananda at the bar for drinks before we were seated. A ++ in my book.
"Family style" is great, because everyone can try the dish, but with four people, we each get only one or two bites. Food is excellent, wonderful use of seasonal ingredients. Host was accommodating of our disabled party member and gave us an accessible table in the quietest possible location -- still loud, though. It's a fun place to take guests, but too noisy to be relaxing.
Thank you so much for the review, we are thrilled you enjoyed your night! Hope to see you again!
The stars say it all! Excellent food and service!
We just visited Found this past weekend. We have been to the sister restaurant , The Barn. The food was excellent. We went on a Saturday night which was busy. Mary was our server that we had and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend you make reservations ahead of time! It is one of the better restaurants in Evanston.
