   The food is honestly consistent. The service unfortunately is not. We had a server named Ashley who, while pleasant enough, could not do the most basic of server related tasks-ie refill water or wine from the bottle in a timely fashion. This new credit card requirement for reservations is also quite frustrating. I’m neither sure why they need my full credit card information nor why they want $25/head for a reservation. This is Roanoke, Virginia-not some big city. Besides the place is never full any way.

   Fortunato’s never disappoints! The best Italian dishes and craft cocktails around. Add the attentive staff & personalized service and it just can’t be beat. My wife and I have visited time and time again over the years and have never had anything less than superb food a memorable evening.

   Had the Duck Ragu--perfect portion, pasta was cooked perfectly dressed in the tasty ragu. Generous portions, but not too much and the service was prompt and professional.

   The food was amazing and beyond compare. In addition, the service was incredibly professional. I would drive several hours out of the way to eat here again. Michelin needs to make a stop in Roanoke for this hidden treasure.

    We celebrated our daughter’s college graduation with dinner here per her request. It’s our favorite restaurant in Roanoke. It never fails to disappoint. Excellent food and great service from KJ

    What a great find in Roanoke! The food was fantastic and our server (KJ??) was simply one of the best! So personable and efficient. We had the focaccia w/evoo/ricatta, meatballs, stuffed shells, pork chop milanese. All delicious! Will definitely stop again if passing through.

    Fantastic server - KJ - made the he night fun. Grilled bread with olive oil and ricotta and the calamari are not to be missed. Buccatini Arribiato and the risotto dish were table favorites for mains and the ricotta donuts were delicious.

    I was a little disappointed that when I arrived for our 7:00 reservation, we were told our table wasn’t quite ready, but 75% of the tables in the place was empty. I get if there’s not enough staff but there was at least two servers and only 5 small tables filled. We weren’t seated until 7:15. I felt like our waitress was a little unprofessional. She didn’t introduce herself. She didn’t know the top selling dishes. She didn’t know if peas could be taken out of a dish. With all that said, I love the food. I know the pasta is fresh. Everything tastes good and it was a perfect date spot!

    We had yet another great meal at Fortunato last night. This restaurant continues to be one of our top 3 best restaurants in the Roanoke area. They have an outstanding wait staff and make you feel like a valued friend. Their cocktails are always top notch. The entrees we choose are excellent every time.     Fortunato is a marvelous place. We had superb servers who were quite attentive, gave great suggestions and service was great. The ramp pizza was quite good. The entrees we all enjoyed and the dessert was great and shared two of them!

    Place simply but nice, a bit noisy. Good pizza dough but low quality toppings, I speak like this because I'm Italian but I appreciate the fact of finding pizza similar to Italy. Server very professional. the bill a bit expensive for expectations. overall empty.

    We celebrated a family birthday here. It was a busy Saturday night and our waiter was performing multiple roles behind the bar and waiting tables. The service started off slow, but the food was delicious.

    Very delicious, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Brett, the manager, knows his wine! And Gwen our server was very sweet and friendly. We got the duck ragu, eggplant parm, and orchietta pasta and it was all incredible. Also don’t pass on the roasted olives as an appetizer! They were great!

    We had a great time as usual. We have been to fortunato’s many times. The food and cocktails were excellent. The server seemed to be annoyed to be there and wasn’t warm or friendly. She did do a great job on accuracy. Water glasses were always filled. We were a very polite table. I wish she had been as polite in response. Other than that, we had a great experience!
