Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon
Good experience. Slightly awkward waiter experience. Overall very enjoyable.
On family vacation and wanted a place to have a celebratory meal. Lovely food and service. Kind and friendly. Our waiter even gave us cakes to take away for later. Don’t miss tea at F&M if you have a chance. Then stay and shop this precious, historic establishment.
Fabulous tea and amazing service, José looked after us very well and it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon!
Overpriced 4 people cost us $320
Great experience, food and tea were wonderful, great ambience, never rushed and left with a smile on the dial.
This game s a must if you visit London, just be sure to book way ahead and work your schedule around it, it’s worth it. Many people were turned away for not having a reservation. Absolutely delicious food and plenty of it.
Stunning afternoon tea. I had the savoury tea which included fresh crab & lobster morsels in savoury bites. Mouthwatering cheese scones. My friend had the vegetarian tea - equally wonderful. Plentiful and filling. £55 per head plus we had gin cocktails. Not the cheapest but worth it. Pretty tea room & the service was excellent and attentive.
When we booked this tea a month ago, we noted that one of our party has a severe poppy seed allergy.
Poppy seeds were not mentioned anywhere in the menu, so we assumed that it would be okay. However, our server clearly had no idea there was an allergy, and the solution was to simply remove the poppy seed bread and replace that sandwich with a second of another. This unfortunately left poppy seeds on the sandwiches that had touched the poppy seed bread, and thus my mother had to be incredibly careful with every bite she took. Moreover, midway through our tea, our server disappeared, and eventually the manager had to come to give us our check. However, this meant that while other tables were offered refills of not only the tea but also the scones, sandwiches, and pastries, we were not. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience, considering it gets such good reviews online...
The food and tea are nice, but the staff forgot to bring my milk and take away the plate without asking...
Tea very good- good selection of teas, wonderful sandwiches, scones and cakes. Noise level high and reception a little chaotic.
We had a great time with great service and delicious food!
We were celebrating our daughter’s 18th birthday and a first time to London for some of us. Marco Picchi was amazing at suggesting high tea options and provided impeccable service.
F&M will forever be my favourite place to go for Tea. It was the busiest I have ever seen which made the experience different in comparison to the other times I have been, especially as it was a weekday. It was lovely all the same! Definitely recommend!
For 110 Pounds ($140 for 2 pp) for afternoon tea, you would expect good service. We dressed up per their dress code, in a suit and dress. Most people were dressed casually.
They first seated us in front of the drink bar, next to a loud and 3 foot tall unsightly dehumidifier. We said we didn’t want to be seated there so they moved us. Room is large, generic and full of tourists. Nothing special unlike the more ornate tea rooms at other hotels. The room on the other side seems to be reserved for their regular clientele/non-tourists. Couldn’t hear the piano player over all of the talking.
Waitress literally ignored us, after 20 minutes she didn’t even take our order or ask us for drinks. everyone else had been served except for couple next to us who was also being ignored.
We finally flagged down someone else (bartender) who explained the teas and took out order. Our food came out, with no tea or drinks served. Finally complained to manager. No one waited on us and we had terrible service for the rest of the meal and wasted 2 1/2 hours due to poor service. We tikd the manager we didn’t want her to wait in us, after that she showed up at table several times despite being told not to.
No one ever offered is a dessert from the dessert cart which is included, we had to ask. Manager adjusted our bill, but it was still 90 pounds for a terrible experience. Considering we notified him at the beginning and he did nothing to assign a new waitress or waiter is unacceptable.
This is one of the priciest teas in all in London and by far the worst. Do yourself a favor and book at any of the other afternoon teas in London.
I’m regret not canceling and booking elsewhere after reading many of the poor reviews on another site. This is an overpriced generic tea room for tourists that doesn’t care about the experience.
How embarrassing for the Fortnum & Mason brand.
UnHoneymoon in Europe
This was such a fun experience and made even more special with the people who work there. The food was not the focus for us even though what we got was more than adequate and they will continue to bring you more if you wanted.
It's a "maybe" ... the tea is excellent while the food is just OK.
Unfortunately our afternoon tea was not the treat we had hoped for. I have allergies which I had advised at the time of booking as well as ordering. When the server brought over the plates and went over the food I asked him to point out which desert had avocado as I have an allergy, he said I have an allergy tag so no avocado would be on my plate. I pointed out he said one of the deserts included it, at that point he apologized and took my plate away to correct it. Also my husbands regular afternoon tea included a pre opened and used lemon curd. The attention to detail of the kitchen and staff were greatly missing. The server and manager did fix the issues and apologize, however, as someone who works in customer service I feel more should have been done with how careless both these issues were. As long as you are not picky or have allergies then the tea was great! If you prefer to have attention to detail for the price you pay then I’d recommend going elsewhere for the afternoon tea.
Overpriced food. Terrible service. Waited 15 minutes for our server to take our order. Had to ask someone else to help us out. Our “real” server showed up with no smiles, no greetings, and only came to see is once if we needed additional food. Charging 12.5% service charge for such level of service is ridiculous. Tea was high quality. Sandwiches were so so. Desserts were mediocre. We will only be shopping for their teas but never again for the meals.
Enjoyed the food immensely. Quite noisy and busy but our table was in an out of the way space.
Not worth the money. Average sandwiches, cakes/scones quite good. Not what you would expect for a £114.75 price tag for 2 people. I expected an outstanding afternoon tea like nothing I’d ever experienced before but didn’t get it. The unexpected £14.36 “service charge” added to bring the total cost to £129.09 was a nasty surprise that left us feeling raw & ripped off at the end. We felt we had been shaken down overall.
It was absolutely lovely, they sang Happy Birthday to my darling daughter for her 21st and made a special cake with candles. It was wonderful
Interesting experience, but once was enough. Very expensive and a little pretentious.
Our server Marianna gave us amazing service! Never had better in our lives. Everything about the food and ambience was outstanding. It was a beautiful afternoon.
The tea party of my girlhood dreams! With as many finger sandwiches as I could fit in my belly! I had a marvelous time.
It was lovely and truly a one of a kind experience.
Travel and birthday
We were bought the afternoon tea as a gift. And we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The food was very good. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Very high standards. Would highly recommend
This was a special treat for my mum's 70th birthday. She thoroughly enjoyed the High Tea which was the choice we made. Service was impeccable, i would definitely do this again for a special treat.
It’s good to choose different kinds of tea blend during tea time, which makes the expletive extraordinary and memorable.
Really super. Location outstanding, three choices of meal, staff excellent!
I think that for what we paid, there was no value. The quality of the scones and the pastries were mediocre- the service slow. We were very disappointed!
The food is good with nice ambience inside.
The service was exemplary and all the staff were polite and helpful and smiley. It was a pleasure. Thank you
A really lovely afternoon was had by all. Would certainly recommend
Fortnum and Mason is always the place to go for special occasions, as ever wonderful
Really good service and excellent food
Welcoming team and really careful
Really good moment, highly recommended
Amazing as always and in this occasion the service was simply outstanding! It was our dear friends 50th birthday and all the staff thoroughly spoilt us! In particular Colin!
Well done! 😊
Was lovely and would recommend. Good food and unlimited amount available. Service was excellent and would definitely go again.
We had a lovely time, but be aware there is a 12.5 % service charge which added almost £26 onto our bill.
