Fantastic afternoon tea with options on sweet, savory, vegetarian. Plates refilled as they get empty and the scones were perfect. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a high class traditional afternoon tea in London.

Our favourite place to have afternoon tea. However on this occasion ladies room was messy and dirty. Also which was very concerning, a vegetarian plate of sandwiches was given instead of Vegan! This was only realised once eaten then when questioned waitress confirmed the mistake. Luckily for us it's a lifestyle choice, if it had been dietary it could have been worse.

I also feel that the whole process of the experience wasn't explained very well. It's only as we'd been before we knew what we were entitled too.

We selected this tea based on the recommendation of a friend who lives in London. Overall the experience was good but not great for the price. All the food was very good but the service was not. We weren't in a rush and didn't mind that tea and food took a little time to be served. What was irritating was having to ask multiple times for simple things like having our water refilled. Once we received our bill and saw that the service charge is automatically added we figured the staff must not be too concerned about excellent service and we didn't add any extra tip.
If I were to book tea in London again, I will try another place.

We visited the tea salon for the first time on Saturday as a surprise for my husband. The reception are was a little crowded and noisy (about 4pm) but we were seen promptly and took a seat to wait for our table. After only 5 or so minutes we were shown to our table and the noise level dropped considerably. We were served with wonderful attentiveness (thank you Bliss!) and thouroughly enjoyed our tea. We were offered additional sandwiches and cakes and copious amounts of tea. Might have been helped by our champagne! We loved the Afternoon Blend and bought a box on ouir way out. It was a great experience and one which we would love to repeat again sometime.

This was a birthday treat that I spent with my husband. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and this was something I’ve wanted to do for years. We had to wait a bit after asking for extra tea & sandwiches. Loved that we were able to take extra bits of cake home!

The vegetarian option was, quite frankly, mediocre. While I ate meat, I had high tea at Fortnum & Mason and I enjoyed it immensely. By comparison, the meat-free option was poor. I would not have thought it necessary to include gelatin in every cake. Even this I can understand but surely it would be easier to serve similar cakes without gelatin than to serve entirely different ones with inferior quality? I would recommend Fortnum & Mason's high tea to a meat-eater but I would advise vegetarians to steer well clear. My companion described one of the cakes as 'something you might find in the vegan section of a health foods store.' I am unpleasantly surprised that you find it so difficult to provide decent vegetarian food, especially since vegetarians are not particularly difficult to cater for. The sandwiches were fine but I would expect more from you. Tea at Fortnum & Mason should be a luxury but I was left disappointed. I dread to think what you serve to vegans.

(Note: the review above was written by my 12 year old daughter. She was given tea for two at Fortnum & Mason as a gift by very generous friends of ours. I did not go with her as I cannot eat sugar or wheat, which makes high tea pretty implausible for me. But we really did not expect the vegetarian options of cake to be sub par as we did not expect - and reasonably so, we thought - there to be MEAT PRODUCTS in pastry. Or as my daughter points out, surely it would be possible to make equally delicious cakes without using pork or beef. We don't mean to labour the point, but she'd been looking forward to this for weeks and weeks).

Wanted to treat my husband’s niece who is a student in London to a traditional English tea. I have not seen her in a couple of years and we enjoyed our time catching up. Service started out impeccable but then no one came to refresh our teas. We asked to hold off on cake and next a manager came over and said essentially we had overstayed our allotted time and needed to leave in 15 minutes. When I made the reservation through OT I don’t recall being informed of a time limit? The bill was ll8 pounds. Deptartment store lovely but won’t ever go back for tea.

The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum and Masons is a singular exoerience for high tea in London and it was an amazing experience for Valentine's Day. My only issue is that the wait staff took too long for everything and were not very forthcoming with information, if we had known that they would refill all our food choices and much as we wanted, we would've planned accordingly. And we never knew that we could've sampled other teas because we were never offered, our tea sat cold and empty for the majority of our 3 hour tea. Other than that, exceptional. They had gluten free options for all their main food selections and there is no need to order it ahead.

We waited a long time before anyone came over to our table with menu and requests etc. Last time I went we had a little chat about the tea, and how we could try different ones, but this time there was none of that. It wasn’t busy either.
Overpriced for what it was.
Good job the company was fantastic 🙂

Wonderful afternoon, service 1st class as was the food. Everything made the occassion even more special. We were entertained by a superb pianist for the first 30 mins and then the background changed to the in house classical music. This was a little too loud and hysterical for me (I am a professional musician so probably a bit too critical! ) also the same concert piece repeated and repeated and then I found it starting to stress me out!! The reception staff were made aware and agreed it was a little distracting but I think the music was piped throughout the shop. Other than that this afternoon tea event was simply wonderful and I would love to return with guests.
