They were playing Pandora. Early 2000s music and Margaritaville- and country. It didnt seem very upscale and it didn't fit the setting.
Our server was wonderful!! She made it worth the price.
I love the concept but the execution was not as good. The shrimp corn dogs were way undercooked (gray shrimp) so we sent them back. The server was kind about it but the restaurant didn't adjust the tab, offer a free drink or anything like that. When the corn dogs came back, they were okay. I just didn't think the flavors married well with the sauces. Each was individually fine just not a great pairing like I expected. The salad lyonnaise was pretty good. I thought it was missing something though, maybe some cheese. The ceviche had too much going on. Too many flavors which overpowered the fish and made the dish overall just too tart and overseasoned. I had high hopes for the restaurant and it was just okay. I don't plan on returning.
I have been to FW M+T on multiple occasions: twice for happy hour, once for breakfast and most recently for my birthday dinner. The food is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. This has quickly become one my favorite places to eat or grab a drink.
We had 8 in our party for my birthday dinner. We sat in the back room that was closed off with a curtain. The jams were great, there was a delightful pre fixe menu that you could pick and choose from or order outright. The service was great, our waitress was new to the restaurant but very diligent in answering any of our questions.
We have been big fans of the location on So 7th for years, and were excited to try the new concept. I still believe it is an interesting concept, but poorly executed.
We all ordered cocktails. Sent two of them back. They were not balanced. Two of us ordered soup as an appetizer. They were both served "luke warm". Entres were OK, but were also served warm - not hot. I could see the kitchen just a few feet away. I am puzzled as to why the food was coming out so late, and not served hot.
After dinner we sat on the patio for a nightcap. Two people in our party ordered cocktails. We had to send one of them back. Two of us ordered coffee. Both coffees were served "warm"... not hot. Again, I am puzzled as to why food and drinks are not immediately served.
Our server was a "ghost". He was too "pushy" in the beginning, and never around when we needed him. Did I mention that we were the only people in the dining room?
This was a Lose - Lose for everyone. I was embarrassed. My guests were frustrated. You guys had a bad night.
Bizarre place! Used to be another restaurant owned by same entity. Its a weird mix of decor. We sat in the "Blue Room" which could be fine if the turn the frickin lights down, put some table clothes on the tables and candles to light the place, then it would be cool. Instead its like setting in a fish bowl. Service was OK, the helper guy kept running into my chair! The rest of the place has totally different decors and feel. Lastly, the front of the house was a disaster! The hostess was out of her league, she also is the one taking you to your table and answering the phone, what a circus! Too many other places to each that get it, try one of them!
Was really looking forward to this meal for Valentine's day, and when we arrived thought it was so nice to have a restaurant that isn't overcrowded and too noisy to carry on a conversation. The appetizers were pretty good, but after that things went downhill. My wife's Cornish hen was dry and oveecooked. The bed of polenta was mushy and tasteless. My venison was terrible. The taste was bitter and gamy. Oh, and forgot to mention the brusselsprouts. Our Ceasars salad was a little Caesars dressing on a bowl full of mini brusselsprouts. Then my venison was surrounded by brusselsprouts. Normally I like brusselsprouts but these were bitter.
We figure that management must have known that it wasn't very good because not once did any of the wait staff or management ask how we liked the meal.
Note to proprietors : before you invest that much in decor and location, find a decent chef first.
When you go to expensive restaurants it can go one of two ways: you can feel like you just paid for amazing food and amazing service, or you can feel like you just wasted money. You definitely don't get your money worth at Fort Worth Table. Their valentines menu was $100 for extremely small portions and nothing too spectacular tasting.
The food was good but would have preferred to not have a prix fixed meal.
When we arrived, it took about 5 minutes from anyone at the restaurant to greet us, or even notice our existence. They were not busy. The food was good, but a bit pricey for what you get. Everything is a la carte. Service was ok, but not outstanding. The only exceptional thing about our experience was the pickled shrimp appetizer. That was very good!
Very inventive and refreshing menu with a new menu weekly. Nice selections. Price is high at $55/pp so I do wish it was a bit more reasonable but the food was fantastic.
The chef, Kalen Jane, was very helpful. She came out and told us what our dairy and gluten free options how she could accommodate us. We were debating eating in the "market" but she explained how she thought we'd have more options and a better dining "experience" if we were on the "Table" side so behind the curtain we went....
Only to experience a MUCH worse experience!! After about 5 minutes someone came and filled our water glasses. I asked that person if he was our waiter. He acted like I was crazy and said "No, he'll be by in a little bit" .... Tic-Tock.... About 10 min later still - NO. ONE.
By now we have had cocktails at the bar, met with the chef, had an ordering game plan, chose the "Table" side and were hungry. Almost 20 min later - still...NO. ONE.
We got up and walked to the door. I told the hostess we never saw a server and we're leaving. She asked that we please wait and that the chef would want to know. My friends were not as patient. I waited. I saw her speak with the manager, Adam, who could care less. I saw her plead to him and he finally came over. Gave no apology. Said he'd seat us now in the market side and have us served. My friends had given up and were already outside and had no desire to eat there. I felt bad because I'm the one that recommended the place. Also sad we all live in walking distance and won't look forward to going there in the future.
We Walked across the street to Mash'd who were amazing and served us quickly with all dietary requests met!
Arrived at the appointed time for our reservations. We were seated upon arrival. Lettuce in wedge salad was room temperature and not crisp. My friends Caesar Salad still had about 2" of stalk mixed in with the greens. Other friend ordered the Tomato soup with the grilled cheese sandwich. Got the soup the waiter said they weren't making grilled cheese any more. I ordered the chicken biscuit and the biscuit must have been left over from breakfast as it was burned dry and hard. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits which were excellent. There were only 4 other tables at this time so busy was not the issue. The manager did deduct $18 for the salad. Perhaps a $100.00 meal is not expensive to some, but for me at that price point I would expect the staff and chef to exceed my expectations. I don't think we will be returning.
