Forno Restaurant & Wine Bar
The pizza was the best thing. Everything else (roasted chicken, fried calamari, steamed shrimp, sweet potato soup, margarita) was just meh.
Had dinner 11 May around 4:45 (reservation was at 4:15). The chicken was a little dry. The waitress didn't ask how about the meal. Other than that, everything else was excellent.
Perfect place to have a bite to eat before or after going to the Everyman Theater. Great food and service!
Always a great stop before a night at the Hippo. Great wine, pizza and charcuterie.
The service was amazing! We sat at the bar and the bartender was awesome. Food was okay, nothing to write home about.
Really delicious food with good options for portion size
We eat here before every Hippodrome season show. The service and food are always great
Nice restaurant especially before theater since across from Hippodrome. Menu is limited but available choices were good. Not particularly fond of the car rags they use for napkins, but they are serviceable so I guess that’s the point. Overall nice dining experience. Would recommend and would go again.
Perfect place to go to before a Hippodrome show. Service was great and food is delicious.
Good: The cocktails and pasta dishes were great. Our waitress was nice and attentive while still giving us time to chat without coming by constantly.
Bad: The chopped salad was gross. $10 for small bowl wilted lettuce drenched in salad dressing with barely any toppings. I sent it back. Also, the menu said bread came with the meal but we had to ask for it. The waitress said it doesn't come automatically.
Each time I have come to Forno, I have received very attentive service. On this occasion, the manager helped us pick our wine and he was patient and kind with our inexperience. Our waitress, who was new to the restaurant, was great at pacing our meal so my husband and I could enjoy a long, romantic dinner together. The atmosphere allowed for conversation and privacy, as well as enjoyment of the sights and sounds in an attractive space. We really like Forno and we will be coming back.
We were seated immediately upon arrival at our reserved time. Wine & food were excellent.
Great food in a great atmosphere! Hard to get a reservation so book early.
Always a great meal. Service was not great however. Our server spent a lot of time chatting with the table next to us, apparently one of the people does a food blog. Other than that, a delicious meal as always.
We have gone here in the past and it was an ok experience. BUT this Friday night out was a great dinner with our friends. We were seated quickly and in a quiet place. The appetizers, calamari and the grill octopus, were great. The pasta entrees, especially the lamb ravioli, were wonderful. Would go back again. The service was a little slow to start, but the staff redeemed themselves during the rest of the meal. We will go again and hope the weather is nice enough to sit outside.
The staff is amazing! We arrived early for our reservation and were seated anyway. Our server Heather was awesome, we had a relaxing meal and got to the theatre for our show in plenty of time. Highly recommend using Open Table for reservations.
Convent to Everyman
Variety of foods
Perfectly crafted cocktails, delicious food, and attentive service from Brandon! We'll be back.
I had a great experience at Forno. The food and service were exceptional!
Great place to go for dinner before going to see a play at Everyman Theatre.
Crispy Brussels sprouts were amazing. Pizzas were also very will executed. Desserts were not as well-executed and would not recommend, have an extra drink instead.
Always fantastic!! So easy to like in an area with nothing for theater goers or professionals!!
We go to Forno every time we go to the theatre. We think the food is delicious. everything is clean and neat and the employees from receptionist to waiters are cheerful and courteous and helpful. What a delight it is to have a GOOD restaurant in the theatre district!!
Taylor was a great bartender.
Went on St. Patrick's day at 1:30p. It was a Sunday. Didn't realize that the ONLY option for food was Brunch. That was very disappointing. Just wanted a regular lunch.
But, the Kitchen Sink Salad was VERY good.
The Vegetable Frittata was horrible. So salty, it was barely worth eating!
Kept having to so for water refills in shall glasses.
Other than that, good service.
We visited Forno for a pre-show brunch on St Patrick’s day. The service was great, but I thought menu was too limited (salads, wood fired pizza) and pricey. However, their location is so convenient for anyone headed to Hippodrome they are hard to beat for speed and convenience. And their offer to offset cost of adjacent parking lot is extremely helpful.
Very nice Italian restaurant. Pizza was really good and good value. Regular portion of the spaghetti was very small (almost a child's portion). Server was very nice and friendly. Over all we had an excellent time!
We enjoyed an outstanding pre- theater meal last Thursday at Forno. My husband and I shared a nice Caesar salad before our entrees. He had a lovely scallop pasta; I had an amazing Bolognaise pasta, one of the best ever. We ended with capacinnos and shared Tark brothers ice cream, vanilla and caramel. Our server Chris was very professional, great timing without being obtrusive. This is definitely a nice little eatery. We are looking forward to eating on the patio next time.
We had a fairly large group, but everything was great! Brunch was amazing and I got complements for finding such a great spot! Will be coming back!
Great food, atmosphere, and service. I highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to eat before a show.
This was an excellent choice for an early dinner. Service and food were great
forno deserves it great ratings and growth. I have been enjoying Forno's since it opened.
Day at the theater. Always go for brunch. Love it!
everything was GREAT Heather gave us super service
The only negative about Forno is how difficult it is to get pre-theater reservations! This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Food was delicious - loved the small plate options on pasta. Kyle was a terrific server!
As always, the food was very good and the wait staff was friendly and efficient.
I was disappointed in the food. I had higher expectations but felt that the meal was very mediocre.
Love, love, love your food and the flavors! Compliments to your chef!
I dine at Forno approximately once a month and have enjoyed every meal. Specifically the brussel sprouts are delicious!!! A great place and very convenient location if going to see a show at the Hippodrome.
Good food with quick service prior to going to a show at the Hippodrome. Extensive wine list with good suggestions for food pairings
