Good food and service. My friend found her “new favorite” wine.
We always know that dinner at Forno’s before the theater will be very enjoyable.
Forno is delicious every time (and we are regulars)! We love that they change the menu regularly, so there is always something new to try, and we've never been disappointed. They also a selection of good wines.
The good -Forno pizza is always really good last night they had a butternut squash sauced pizza which was outstanding
The Bad -spaghetti and meatballs were inedible meatballs under cooked pasta over cooked and clumped and not sure why there was cilantro sprinkle on top maybe chef meant to reach for basil or parsley and grabbed cilantro
Finally the service and server were very good
Barely made it to our show because the kitchen was very backed up. Make sure you give them at least 2 hours before a show.
We frequently went there pre-theater prior to COVID. The food was very good, but some old favorites are no longer on the menu. The truffled papperdelle was excellent - scallops cooked perfectly, pasta was al dente, and the mushroom cream sauce was flavorful, but not too heavy. Appetizers were octopus (excellent combo of ingredients) and oysters (good). Nice selection of wines by the glass, craft beers, and innovative cocktails. The best part was the wait staff (which was clearly reduced in numbers) who did an incredible job to provide prompt and courteous service. One waiter was tasked with serving the entire outdoor space and he was phenomenal. We appreciate that staff shows up so that clients can enjoy eating out!
Having been to Forno before, we know what to expect in food and service. Unfortunately the service was SLLLOOOOWWWW...and we do understand that is a direct affect of the Pandemic and staffing issues. We felt bad for your wait staff b/c they could not keep up with the pre-show crowd for the Hippodrome. Hope things improve in the future.
Great to see Forno's packed! Yay! Wait staff (and I assume everyone else) was working as hard as possible! Very thoughtful and polite despite immense business level. Thanks.
The food was fine but took way too long to arrive. For a theatre restaurant this is a problem.
Max, our server was excellent. Well informed and personable! I hope you do what you can to keep her — she is a real asset!
Great service, great food
Had a great pre-concert dinner and cocktails. Loved the Brussels sprouts, PEI Mussels with white wine garlic sauce, and the baked oysters. Must try! Mule and Basil Melon Spritzer were also tasty! Would love to go back to try the entrees and the wine.
Great food and atmosphere. Love the gnocchi and the pizza. Parking was super easy for me around 7pm on a week day.
The Farmers Pizza was so tasty and interesting. Our server was great and made great suggestions. The mixed drinks were excellent. Oh my gosh, and the Brussels sprouts appetizer was to die for! This will definitely be our go to when we go to downtown B-more.
We came into Baltimore from the burbs for date night. It was kind of last-minute so we didn’t do a bunch of research. Forno had an outdoor covered patio and we like wine. The patio wasn’t beautiful or anything but it was fine. The interior was nice for when we go back to eat inside. Our server was great and the meal was well-paced. The wine was very good. We just didn’t like the food that we’ll. There was a corn fritter appetizer that was all dough and no corn and slightly undercooked. Caesar salad was overdressed. The pasta dish was good, with perfectly cooked scallops.
My friend left her phone at the table - The waiter looked up my reservation and called my number to tell us - Truly exceptional service!
Dinner before the show
Visited from out of town. Amazing service and delicious food.
Great service and really nice outdoor patio.
The wait staff was great. Made sure everything was perfect. I was disappointed in the Pollo Pesto pizza. very bland. the pesto had no taste. but we still love Forno and will be back.
Wonderful to be back to dinner before Everyman theatre at Forno's. It is just as delicious as it was. Our server, Heather, was so accomodating and nice. the white asparagus and the baked oysters were particularly good. The chefs behind the counter waved to us as we left. I think the staff is as happy to be back to almost normal as we were!!!!
Overall we had a great experience. We were taken right away, the service was great, and the food was very good. It was pretty quiet overall and I loved all of the plants scattered around.
Forno is one of our favorite dining choices. Always have a quality meal and love the proximity to Everyman Theatre, our post-dining experience.
Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service! My husband loved the squid ink pasta and I loved the polenta! Street parking was easy and a validated garage on the next block! Great wine list and excellent prices and specials!
This was a really good experience!!! The drinks were delicious and the food was tasty. I went during Restaurant Week. I took advantage of their 3 course menu for $45. I also added the 1/2 glass wine pairing option for an additional $18. The pairings were amazing!!!
For my 3 courses I had the following:
1st Course - Watermelon Arugula Salad
2nd Course - Seared Rockfish
3rd Course - Bananas Foster Bowl
I forgot to take a picture of my Seared Rockfish😩😩😩!
Definitely check them out!!!
Forno is a gem. All of the food and wine was delicious. Our service was exceptional. We are so glad we discovered this place! We have come back a few times for date nights but also brought our children one time. Such a great atmosphere for both situations.
The service was very good. The presentation was nice, but the food was oily and a bit salty.
The food was fantastic - highlighted by the sauces on each dish. Would go again well worth the visit - beer battered octopus was top notch. Only complaint would be that it was hot - not sure if the air conditioning was on.
We enjoyed the Restaurant Week 3-course menu. Each of the choices was excellent. Our favorites were the roasted brussel sprouts appetizer, the grilled rockflsh with the creamy and tasty asparagus and corn risotto, and the delightful bananas foster dessert. Service was friendly and attentive. The only drawback was that the room temperature was overly warm--but maybe that was a sign of the warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. We would definitely recommend Forno to our friends.
My only complaint was that either the air conditioning wasn’t working or didn’t turn on so it was extremely hot. Having said that the food was excellent, we went for restaurant week and their big polenta is the best polenta I’ve ever had. And that’s saying a lot. I would definitely recommend for the food quality
Great fresh Italian food. Atmosphere is hip/relaxed and not stuffy. SUPER cocktails. Restaurant week options were great.
Absolutely love the new outdoor space (although, I couldn't stop playing with the magnet tacks that help the wine list down). Food was wonderful as usual, and the service is spectacular!
Forno never disappoints. The food and service are both outstanding. Get a bunch of stuff and just share it with your group. Great place to stop if you are going to the stadiums or are anywhere in the Bromo Arts District.
The pictures are well put together and inviting . The location is downtown, which potentially means there’s a lot of foot traffic. There were people who weren’t patrons of the restaurant standing outside and could intimidate patrons. The service was good, but the pasta could have been prepared better. Very starchy and cooked too firm. Server could have asked pasta preference to eliminate that oversight.
Our server was amazing! She did a great job helping us try some much wine. The food was extremely good. The apps and the pizza were amazing. The pasta was slightly over cooked but next time we would probable just ask for them to make ours a bit more al dente. I can’t wait to go back!
This was a really good meal. Had the bottomless brunch and was sufficiently drunk after. Would eat here again and again. Attentive waitress.
The chicken and waffles were great!
great location low key and nice experience over all
Small, but fun menu. Farmers pizza was delicious. Can’t wait to try the ravioli. Had a wonderful bottle of wine— half price on Saturday— for real. Relaxed but attentive servers. Overall delightful evening. Location was helped by parking lot entrance.
From start to finish, our brunch experience was awesome and Kyle, our server for the day, went above and beyond. My only grip was the duck fries needed to cook some more. My wings, shrimp & grits, bacon, bottomless sangria/mimosas and wino mule were on point. I will be back when in Baltimore again.
