   Y’all, grabbed dinner here with some colleagues at a conference, and it was one of the best meals out I’ve had. Drinks were divine, burrata is amazing, pasta was delicious. Our server was one of the best I’ve ever had - so friendly, and such a great ambassador for this Chicago eatery. Will be back anytime I’m in town!

   Hosted a business dinner here and everything was impeccable. Food and service were great and ambiance relaxed and quiet enough to have a conversation without feeling empty or slow. Highly recommend!

   Loved this spot, this is my second time coming here as I'm from out of state. The food is delicious and the cocktails are just as good. Definitely get the tiramisu if you like it (I personally love it). Overall had a great experience the second time around. Definitely making this a go-to spot every time I visit Chicago.

   Searching for places to eat in the local area and this place popped up. I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was absolutely exquisite. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious! Not only is the food impeccable but the service and hospitality are top notch specifically Michael!! He was so attentive and detail-oriented and making it a truly one-of-a-kind experience. He had such a passion that it translated to pure excellence in his job!! Well done Formento's for employing such a remarkable staff member. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is brilliant!

    We had a wonderful evening eating here! We sat outside on the covered patio on a very cold and snowy day, but didn’t feel the cold at all. We had great service, our waiter explained the menu thoroughly and we ordered salad, chicken Parmesan, and 2 pasta dishes for the table of 4, which was perfect. The best part of the meal had to be the bread and dip that came out at the very beginning, to die for!! The food all around was delicious, drinks were great. Recommend the creamy espresso martini. Would be great for a date night, special occasion or just a fun dinner with friends. Value for the amount of food was great

    Ambiance was warm and romantic, totally appropriate for the cuisine. Big fans of GM, Thom, who treated us like we were the most valuable regulars, and personally invited us to return. Service was kind and thorough. Food exceeded expectations. 10/10 would recommend and return.

    This was our first time there with us being absolutely thrilled. We had dinner and drinks at the bar and enjoyed every minute of our time. The bartender was wonderful!!! Forgive me for forgetting his name but he deserves recognition for friendly and top notch service! Definitely will be back!

    I took my girlfriend to Formento's on Valentine's Day. It was one of the best dates I've ever had. The ambiance, food, and service were excellent. Our server, Sydney, was so sweet and suggested fantastic food and wines for us. She was kind enough to click our pictures too. A month before Valentine's day, I and my girlfriend decided not to eat any sweets until Valentine's day, so ordering the dessert was extra special to us. Sydney suggested the chocolate cake, and OH my GOD! The cake showed us heaven. It was the best cake I have ever had. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Food and drink was excellent for the price. Lamb ragu was amazing. Nonnas meatballs and buratta were excellent apps. Only real complaint is the music. For whatever reason they were playing 2015 pop music (Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Megan Trainor) which clashed hard with the atmosphere. The dining rooms are elegant and sophisticated but the music kinda soured the mood. But overall an amazing experience and we will be returning.

    We were seated 10 minutes ahead of our reservation. The server was thorough in explaining the preference to order everything at once while giving us ample time. He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. Our Caesar salad and calamari were delicious. In fact, it was the best calamari we’ve had, thanks to his description of the flavor. My linguini with lobster meat was prepared perfectly - not soggy. My wife liked her chicken parmigiana . We got a detailed description of the deserts, and I wasn’t disappointed with my tiramisu. Formento’s has moved into my top three of Italian restaurants in Chicago.

    My wife and I ate there before going to a show at the UC. Was lucky enough to try the restaurant week pre fixe menu with wine pairing. Food and drink both were excellent and we will be trying them again.
