Located in Fulton Market District within Chicago’s bustling West Loop, Formento’s is an Italian restaurant steeped with the bright and fresh flavors of Italy. Created as a nod to the owner’s grandmother, guests will experience an array of dishes from house-made pastas, seasonal antipasti and wood-fired fish and steak. At Formento’s, Chef David Schwartz combines new world culinary creativity with generations past. Our world-class wine program offers guests more than 300 varietals from around world.

Three private event spaces can accommodate parties of 10 to 200 guests in an intimate second floor loft overlooking Restaurant Row, featuring a private bar and amenities.

                                                                                          Service was really bad, didn’t see our waitress for 40 mins after sitting down, sommelier came by and took our wine order and poured us glasses and we finished first round before waitress showed up. Food order took very long time once we finally ordered and they missed our side order all together. Ordered steak fiorante, $109+ steak and it was overlooked, ordered medium. Debated as a table to send it back but we didn’t want to wait another 30 mins to start main course. Food tasted good absent over cooking steak, but will kit go back with poor service. Bus boys were very attentive and helpful, everyone else not the case. I am not a complainer on meals but when you spend over $409 for 4 people, you expect good service and on point preparation.

                                                                                          Our dinner was excellent. The appetizers, the hamachi crudo, octopus, meatballs, and whipped ricotta all great, presentation was great as well. I ordered the pork chop, which had this amazing polenta and a tomato relish. Cooked to perfection, probably brined before hand, even if it wasn’t, one of the best chops I have had in ages. Pastas are on the smaller side, really meant to share, so order several to pass around. The chicken parm was massive. There will be leftovers. Service was outstanding. All the dishes were timed perfectly, great drink service as well. I wish I could remember our server’s name, but he was excellent. There’s very few places nowadays that are a triple threat, food, service, and drinks. This place hit all three. Will definitely go back.

                                                                                          Went here for a birthday dinner and arrived early. They said a table was available if we wanted to sit down now, I made the mistake of thinking this was a good idea. Was sat next to the bar and was bumped into the entire night. Incredibly loud and honestly overpriced. They try to act like a Michelin star resturaunt but they’re average at best. Drinks were ok.
