    Food was excellent, but did not appreciate being sat outside when it’s freezing out. You could at least ask before seating us if we are ok with it. Very expensive meal to be eating in the cold on the sidewalk (heaters weren’t enough)

    The food was outstanding. Every appetizer, every dish, every drink, every dessert was absolutely top notch. I just wish it wouldn’t have come all at the same time. It has the ambiance of fine dining. However, I felt very rushed. The waitress stood at the table until we decided on drinks. It was very uncomfortable. Then we were just digging in to the appetizer when our entrees showed up. I just wish it was paced more like a fine dining facility. Because the food was so good and worth every cent!

    The night didn’t start off on the best of notes because even though I informed the restaurant it was our anniversary, they still sat us in the back in the corner at a small table next to a very loud group. However, when the food started to come out, everything changed. The star of the show was the new head chefs short rib pasta, it was everything you could’ve wanted in a pasta dish. The ribeye and skirt steak were cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully, the crispy potatoes are a must and the broccolini was delicious. The drinks were okay but overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Will be back and hopefully the new chef’s dishes are here to stay!

    Prices are just crazy. Shrimp cocktail for over twenty dollars that was just five shrimp. A meatball appetizer for over twenty dollars. Nine dollars just for some pasta and sauce as part of a close to 40 dollar chicken parmigiana dish. Food was good, but just no real value here at all. Came before the pandemic many times, but unlikely to return based on the cost.

    An amazing experience, as always. Great food, great wine and great service. The house-made pastas were cooked perfectly and the pork shop was very tasty. Very accomplished bar staff, as well.

    Great service, delicious food. A little surprise that the menu was not representative of the options. We were asked if we wanted a 5 Oz or 8 Oz (I think) serving of pasta- the menu only had one price- (for the 5 Oz) and if we wanted protein on our pasta (also not represented for cost on the menu) we both enjoyed the food very much- I just wish there were no surprises.

    What a fantastic dining experience! Our waiter, Michael was spectacular :) He made our dinner an experience. He told wonderful stories about the little old lady who makes the burrata fresh daily and the whipped ricotta was delicious. There were three of us, 1 of us had the chicken visuveo, it was tender and juicy and the potatoes were wonderful, we also had the squid ink pasta and the vodka sauce, all of our entrees were worth having again. As good as the food was Michael really was the best part. We'll be back!!

    This was a tough one as there where so many high points but many low points. Our server and bus boy were impeccably trained and we a diamond in the rough throughout the night. We came into the city for the Queen concert and went to Foremento's due to location and some fabulous reviews. Our waiter brilliantly went through the menu highlighting certain dishes and what he called his favorites. He did recommend the steaks but they were really big and $$$$. We started out with a caesar salad and meatballs. The first round was just as good as our waiter. We loved the dressing and the meatballs were tender and very tasty. For dinner, we had the carbonara which still had the yolk on top I felt was unconventional but still tasty. There small size pastas are just enough. The low light of the meal was the chicken parmesan. It was crispy under the cheese but jut uninspired. $8 for a side of spaghetti was a bit much. Lastly, the apple crostada was served cold with ice cream. It tasted like apple sauce with some texture. We don't drink and for soft drinks they have 8 ounce bottles for I'm sure to much money. Get a soda machine. I felt it was very expensive and would of been completely happy if we left after the salad and meatballs. The rest of the meal just brought down the experience which without drink was $180 with a tip.

    Formentos food is out of this world! It’s my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Their salads, steak, pasta, crispy potatoes, and brussel sprouts in particular are the best!! The ambience is perfect.. sooo clean and elegant. The wait staff is friendly, and on the ball. My husband and I recently celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary there and our experience was a 10 out of 10! Our waiter Sergio could not have been any nicer and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant!

    The food was delicious, the ambiance was perfect, the server was a delight, and everything else was great! But we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that we made this reservation over a week in advance, had a table for 7:30 and didn’t get seated until 8:15 - that’s with our entire party already there. You would imagine that a restaurant like this would be way better prepared and already have our table reserved and ready upon arrival. Because of this delay, all our remaining reservations for the rest of the evening weren’t made because of this dinner. Won’t be returning here if it’s for a big event because that’s not good at all.

    We did not have great service. Food is good, but I would not go back with the plethora of Italian options in Chicago. A total miss with service and ambiance. No drink refill during dinner service. One of those places you cringe and wish you had picked somewhere else.
