Our server Kathy was incredible, as was the food. Everything we ordered was fresh and extremely delicious. We had the crostini, my husband had the cippino, and I had the halibut. Our salads were beautiful and composed of watermelon and tomato. Dishes you cannot find on an every day menu. I cannot believe we have not been there before, but we will definitely be going again, soon! Even though we were on a date, there were families there and there were several kid friendly options. So next time it will be a family night!
I can not even begin to tell you how disappointed I was with the meal, the room and the price. The only saving grace was the wait staff. They were absolutely lovely and accommodating. The food room was cavernous and dark with food stations spread all over the place and made no sense, completely lacking in charm and warmth. The eggs benedict were drizzled with 3-4 drops of hollandaise sauce and frigid. The artichoke salad did not have any flavor. The pitchers of dressing looked like a chuck wagon presentation. The desserts were awful, the tiny cupcakes looked like something I could get at WalMart. The fruit salad, presented on a dessert table (odd), was spectacular, very ripe and wonderful fruit. The sushi area was disorganized and mislabeled. Some officious character with an Ipad was walking around not sure why, but questioned one of my guests who the champagne was for. He did not add to the ambience and the room felt like a chicken dinner conference room. I was expecting some kind of restaurant style. I was expecting some kind of cost differential for those of us who do not drink (2 at my table) and there was no option on the on line reservation (though I doubt much of the 47 dollars went to the champagne). The roast beef was delicious, the almond encrusted fish dish was unspectacular and I only tasted almonds. Even the server was surprised at what I did not eat on my first plate. I am not a food waster, but yours was mostly unpalatable and unpleasureable. I will not do another Easter brunch with you, but hardly think I am in a position to comment on the restaurant since I was not in it. Perhaps it is lovely, but my experience on Easter Sunday was dismal and very much not worth the expense. I am embarrassed I had two guests who were at a loss to comment given they were my guests, but clearly as disappointed as I was.
Very disappointed that they intentionally discourage lone diners, which is kind of dumb being a hotel restaurant. You can reserve a table for two, but if you try to reserve for one, "no tables are available". No worries. Plenty of other great restaurants nearby who welcome solo diners.
My husband I were alone for Christmas this year and I was ill so we decided to go out. We saw a sign at the Marriott advertising their Christmas menu and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is part of the bar but set up in a cozy fashion. The food had a limited menu but we knew this ahead of time. The meals were over the top tasty, our waitress was very friendly. We would do this again in a heartbeat.
Hadn't been for a while because my last visit was during summer on the patio. Too many families with kids running around made dinner unpleasant. So, decided to give it another try and I'm glad I did. Winter hours and no kids, quiet dinner for 2 and the service and food was very good. Will definitely return, but maybe not during summer or on the patio.
Service was so so and untimely that it ruined the entire experience. Waited almost 60 minutes for salads. Soup arrived so lukewarm it was cold. Management needs to to better planning for staffing so they are adequate to service the restaurant. You would have never known we has reservations
Very, very disappointing
I took my husband and my son's family for a belated fathers' day breakfast. We checked in and decided we wanted to sit outside which was ok. My son decided he wanted the buffet so we all followed his lead. The buffet had potatoes, sausage, bacon, French toast and fruit. Then there was the omelet station. At that time there were already two in line and my group would have made 7. The line blocked the way in and out of the kitchen so we had to keep moving out of the way. My husband complained about the time it would take to get the rest of our breakfast and was told by the hostess that they only have one guy working. After about 5 minutes we all went back to our table. My son did go back in to get scrambled eggs for his wife and then returned again with an omelet. We were all disappointed in the breakfast. The potatoes, sausage, French toast, and bacon were barely warm. The charge for the buffet was $16.50 per person. I have had better breakfast buffets that were included with the price of the room at other hotels. I don't mind paying $16.50 for brunch if the food and service was worth it. All of us were very disappointed. We will not go back.
Fantastic restaurant in the Marriott. Typically I avoid hotel restaurants, but we tried it and also redeemed a free bruschetta coupon from Yelp. The bruschetta was to die for, the pizzas were great and so was the pasta. Service was really good. We had two vegans in our group and our waitress was very kind and helped them customize some meals, and they were very happy too. The creme brulee was super amazing and it still brings back good memories!
The Mother's Day Brunch was out of sight and well worth the $45. However, despite having a 12:15 reservation my party of three were not seated until almost 1p.m. and we arrived on-time. The brunch ended at 2p.m. There was an automatic 18% gratuity charged to our bill. Lucky for us our waitress was fabulous and worth it. The food was great and the live band was a nice touch.
Not impressed with Easter brunch. It's not done by the restaurant Formaggio. It's the hotel banquet service. Mediocre food and the foulest champagne I ever had the misfortune to taste. Seriously. They should change brands. Service was very good. Well after full champagne glasses were dropped in the lap of one of our party, then it was very attentive. Will not return. In fact, will not go to any hotel brunch buffets in future as they all seem the same. Get a ham and stay home. It's less expensive and less frustrating.
and are nearly always over-priced, I enjoy my visits to Formaggio. Other than
major holiday weekends the setting is quiet and actually cozy. Service is friendly and
more important, accommodating. Spouse and I shared a spinach salad, which was
fresh and generous with berries, blue cheese and a light dressing. I usually skip
the bread basket yet the freshly baked buns took up a better than average olive
oil and balsamic.
Decent wine list. Wife had a glass of Estancia Zinfandel, I was happy with a cold Peroni.
The 'wood fired' pizza grill upon close inspection is gas fired, yet super hot, and the
server made the changes we requested ie tomatoes and spinach vs pepperoni. Result was
better than expected, bit of burn to the thin crust, balanced sauce, really pretty nice at $14.
We then split a salmon entre' over risotto with an asparagus puree from the halibut
switched over happily vs a buerre blanc.
Total was $67. before gratuity, not bad. We took some pizza home. Nice setting,
intelligently prepared and fresh, friendly service...oh, and use Marriott points if you have them.
The decor was cute and lovely for a hotel restaurant but just perfect with an open air kitchen and grille in the corner. Our server was very sweet and offered to buy my sister's dessert for her birthday. I had to start with that because the lemon panda cotta was delicious! We started with a hamachi tartare which had nowhere near enough hamachi for $17. At first I thought it was blended with tuna and they just didn't mention that, but then I realized they were actually tomatoes which overpowered the little hamachi there was. We had the salmon and halibut entrees and each loved our dishes. I would definitely return when in the area
Overall food was delicious. Service was slow but didn't bother us. We had a nice family visit between courses. Bar served marvelous Margaritas. Deserts were excellant. Wine list was extensive. Atmosphere was beautiful. One person remarked that it felt like being on vacation. Poolside tables were lovely. Side room for our party was comfortable our chatter and laughing did not disturb the other diners.
I would liken my hash to be like crispy fried cat food. Far from being tasty or juicy. HOWEVER, I was running late so I didn't ask to replace my meal tho I had the feeling that if I did ask, it would have been done in a pleasant manner. Service was friendly. My third time staying at this particular Marriott so other than this incident, I've had no other complaints
