   Was expecting a more elaborate Easter brunch buffet. The variety was a little more than a daily brunch at an upper end hotel restaurant and the heated selections were not kept hot so by the time you were seated, the food was lukewarm. Carver station had only ham, which I don't like - no prime rib. The pastry choices were few. Seating area was smaller than average, and as it turned out, we didn't need reservations - there were plenty of open tables. For some reason, it was rather dark in the buffet area. Maybe, someone forgot to flip a switch...? The service was great. Most were standing around with not much to do. With 20% tip, the bill was about $105. The food was definitely not worth the ticket. Usually go to Zinfandel Grille in Sac, but they didn't have buffet-style this year so took a chance at something new. The food didn't come close to ZG's quality or presentation. Won't be returning.

   Went there for Valentine’s Day. Although our server tried, the food took forever to come out. We ordered an appetizer that came out the same time as our food. Overall, it was not a good experience.

   I love going here for Thanksgiving. The server with blond hair was excellent. I only wish there was a more traditional meal for Thanksgiving. The mushroom ravioli was quite good. I regret not ordering a salad with it. We will be back during the year!

   We had a nice meal at Formaggio a couple of. of nights ago. The food is solid comfort food - mostly Italian with burgers and seafood. It’s not fancy but everything was cooked as ordered and tasted great. My pappardelle was terrific; DH enjoyed his chicken Parmesan even though the pasta was cooked a bit past al dente. They are clearly short on staff but the staff they had did yeoman’s’ work. Carlton seated us with a warning that it would take 10-20 minutes to place our food order. No worries; we had drinks and water to tide us over and we appreciated the heads up about the delay. Kathy, who had tables inside and out, was cheerful and made great menu recommendations. We also had breakfast and it, too, was very good. Roland seated and served us. He brought me a fresh pot of decaf (again he warned of a delay which was no big thing). It’s unlikely we will return only because we don’t go to Rancho Cordova often. But if we do, we will stop by.

    My daughter and I had our Christmas dinner here tonight. It was simply amazing!! I had the special this evening - Beef Wellington and it was over the top delicious. The pastry and filet …. The mashed potatoes and asparagus plus the sauce wow it was super good. My daughter had the shrimp fettuccine. The food was so good. Our server was excellent and the place is very clean and nicely appointed. Easy parking and easy to get there once inside the hotel lobby. I am looking forward to returning again here for another fantastic meal. I can’t believe I have never eaten here before and I live 10 minutes away. I will definitely be back for more yummy food ;) I also want to try dining on the cute patio once the weather is nice!

    I went because I saw that they had lasagna on the menu. When I got there of course it wasn’t available. I felt the food quality wasn’t very good and the temperature of the food was just medium. The service was fine. Just not eager to go back.

    Food was ok , Drink was ok , They prices on every thing was way too high, the quality wasn't there , Drink was tasteful , but didnt tasted any Tequila in the drink , So I order a shot, and my only drink added up double to $30 , my total for all the food was over $100, menu didnt have much to select from.

    This restaurant had poor service. When I asked for utensils , they never arrived. Tables were not set . We had different servers came out to the patio to serve us. It was strange given we were the only customer there at 6pm. Still service was poor

    Kathy is an awesome server, Greg is a great bartender. Every time we visit, Kathy makes it special! The Scampi with Angel Hair is great. Just wish you had the full menu.

    Service was great, but the food, not so good. I expected something better than average hotel restaurant quality because of the description on Open Table. The food was sub-par hotel food, which is okay only if you don't want to leave the facility to eat.

    The service and time between ordering and getting food needs improvement! We ordered at 7:35, and didn’t get our appetizers until 1 hour later!! We also had to check on the status of our drinks twice.

    Went for a Valentine’s Day Date Night. Worst experience ever. Food was cold, small, and unpalatable. Spent close to $200 for something that was a horrible experience. Customer service was bad too. They bring us out a bowl of soup and do not bring us a spoon for nearly 15 min. The waiter totally ignored us, we asked the host to get us a spoon. Then the waiter comes by and asks how is your delicious food? I laughed and said it was fine. The only thing that was actually good (because it was hot, like an entree is supposed to be!) was the free meatballs that the chef outside gave us. It was honestly the best thing we had. The drinks were gross too! The bartenders couldn’t mix ice in water. They were terrible. I would never go here again. The only reason my wife and I had a good time, was because we were laughing on how bad the food was and we would have had a better meal at in and out!

    First Italian restaurant that says they have no pasta. No steak and no gelato!!!! Waiter brought me the bill while I was still eating without even asking if I wanted anything else. Don’t go there unless you only want a drink by the pool.

    Made a reservation for two on Christmas Day at 6:30pm. We had to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes to be seated. The service staff as very short. Finally, after waiting another 15-20 minutes, we were waited on. We tried ordering what we had selected in advance, and were told that has been sold out and replaced with other non-comparable substitutes. We were looking forward to a prime rib dinner. Instead, I got a small piece of salmon covered with couscous drenched with American Cheese sauce and my husband got a slice of top sirloin with worcestershire sauce and mashed potatoes. The winter salad was very anemic looking and the dessert table leaves a lot to be desired. We had dined at this same place for Mother's Day and the food and ambiance was wonderful!

    I must say I was truly disappointed with the quality of food and service levels for Christmas Day. We arrived around 5:30 pm and they were already out of two menu options. The quality of food was just ok, members of my party ate their meals but did not feel the pricing was in line with the quality. I waited a long time to have my entree plate removed before taking dessert. Our party did enjoy the dessert bar.

    I had never been to Formaggio Taverna & Patio when I made the choice to throw my best friends surprise birthday party here so I really ran the risk of the event not being as amazing as I had hoped, but WOW let me tell you, not only was the food absolutely delicious, the incredible service and helpfulness of the staff had me non stop smiling the entire evening. From the moment I arrived two hours ahead of time to set up the table, the staff assisted me in every aspect and their willingness to be accommodating to both myself and all 13 of my other guests truly made this a night to remember. I will definitely be back here many more times to come. My best friend's birthday was PERFECT and she fell in love with this wonderful restaurant as well. Thank you so much Formaggio Taverna for really coming through with phenomenal ambiance, dining, and customer service!

    The hostess at 4:45 pm wasn't very friendly. She yelled at me from near the bar inside the restaurant can I help you? I was standing at the hostess desk waiting to be seated. The hostess working when I left was very helpful.

    We had lunch and ordered the shrimp salad and I asked if it was a wedge salad or if it was a regular salad and they told me it was regular cut up iceberg lettuce. when they serve the salad there was just 1/2 a head of iceberg lettuce dropped on a plate with shrimp dropped on top. it was served with ranch dressing which was so watery it was like water, yucky. There was 4 tables seated at the restaurant and two waiters but it took forever to get our drinks and our lunch. I absolutely will not eat at this restaurant again.

    This is twice in the last month my family & I have visited this restaurant for brunch. The food & ambiance were fine although the food is pricier than it should be in my opinion. What is lacking is the sense of urgency by the staff. On both occasions, although there were what appeared to be several employees working, it took them more than 10 minutes just to bring us coffee & water.

    We had a large party and our server was trying to accommodate us, but the restaurant and the bar is clearly understaffed. The pizza was okay, the spaghetti and meatballs were terrible and everything is quite expensive for what you get. We ordered room service one morning and the poached eggs were basically raw and inedible. On a positive note, we ate here again for lunch during because we were staying at the hotel and the Fromaggio burger was excellent.

    For at least the past four years this restaurant has done an amazing Mother’s Day brunch buffet, this year they did not do a buffet although it was listed as a buffet brunch on open table. The food was average at best, the service was incredibly slow, and the restaurant was not full. This was an extremely disappoint experience in comparison to past years, we will not eat there again.
