Incredible! Loved the huge cheese selection and the Dalla Forma was amazing. Awesome wine list too. Cannot recommend enough!!
New and trendy butVERY loud and overpriced....food excellent but small portions and average entree $30. Everything a la carte...even a veggie. Won’t go back.
Great menu, wine and cheese selection. The venue is small, not intimate but very pleasant. The food is very nicely prepared. It is not your typical Italian establishment. They put a spin on it treat us both unique and tasty. I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area. I felt the price and portions were not connected. It was worth the money but I think a bit more on the plate would be better.
Strange menu ....very expensive. Service was excellent. Would not return. Great if you like cheese ... but ... need more healthy items ... and charging you for bread at the table? Really? Really?
Everything was delicious- beautiful location and restaurant. The cheese fettuccini was amazing as was the salad we chose. Arancini appetizer was also excellent. By far the best place we ate during this trip.
Great for date night, ambiance is fantastic. Food is delicious. A bit overpriced, can have delicious Italian food for cheaper but ambiance won't be as great.
I’ve already recommended Forma to family members and friends! The food was so tasty and yummy. I had the TORTELLINI tossed in bella lodi cheese. And my fiancé had the FETTUCCINE BOLOGNESE tossed in parmigiano reggiano cheese. The service was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back.
Forma's Cacio e Pepe was the best I've ever had. Almost went back the next day for more!!! Looking forward to the another Forma experience soon.
Great restaurant ! Great ambiance and service !!!!
Amazing as always
I love this restaurant but impossible to have a conversation because of unpleasant noise level. It's the only thing that keeps me from eating there more often. They could certainly lower noise level without compromising the buzz.
My only issue with Forma---and the food is spectacular--is the noise level. It is Aggressive.
Always a great pleasure to eat here. Get the tortellini and the citrus salad!
We loved our food. The pasta was tender and delicious We enjoyed watching the pasta being dipped in the cheese. We had a good experience at the Forma and will recommend it to others.
Great food and excellent services, really enjoyed the experience!
We shared the crispy artichokes and the bavette main lobster & peas and they were delicious! Wonderful service. Always a treat to eat at Forma!
Food is always good and served hot. Our reservations and seating were on time. Service was good.
Lovely! Try the tortellini so delish.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home.
And nice tastes.
My favourite sitting location is being close to the back of the room where the chefs mix the pasta in the wheels of cheese. Seeing that and smelling the cheese is a dream from me.
Great Food, great service; a little loud but we still enjoyed the ambiance.
The artichoke salad was wonderful
Food was delicious as usual! Can’t wait to go back and order the mussels!
The highlight for me at Forma is the pasta dalla forma, which is pasta tossed in these gorgeous wheels of cheese. The tortellini in particular is divine. However, the menu has lots of highlights, including small plates and mains. Great wine list. Cons are that service can be a bit hit and miss. Like most restaurants these days, the noise level is off the charts. Last time in our server forgot two of our small plates, but frankly I think he just couldn't hear us when we were ordering. I am not sure why restaurants are all so noisy these days, but it's a trend I hope ends soon. The seating is also a quite snug. You could be very close to another dining party. Again, that seems to be more and more typical these days, especially with the horrendous emergence of the "community table," which luckily Forma has not adopted. Forma is so popular that it could certainly fill a larger space elsewhere and give their patrons some room. These cons of the experience are mainly commenting on current trends that Forma has unfortunately adopted, but the food, cheese selection, and wine list are so good I would suffer through most anything to have a meal there. Make sure you get your reservations ahead of time as it fills up fast!
Loved the place!
Delicious food. Excellent service. Noisy atmosphere, with tables very close to one another.
Although this lunch meeting was the third time for me, it was only the first time at Forma Restaurant for my guest. She was as pleased as I always am. The menu continues to be interesting and the presentation of food is as creative as ever. We were able to chat with each other without having to try to filter out noise. This is a huge plus considering the high noise levels at so many other restaurants. And. . .it's in my home town, Santa Monica, just a hop, skip and a jump from my home. It's a go to restaurant, although I never have had the pleasure of dinner there.
This is a thoroughly outstanding restaurant in Santa Monica away from the beach (easier parking!) The menu emphasizes the creative use of fine cheeses and pasta, but includes a large variety of other well-conceived and superbly-executed dishes based on meat, fish, salad, or vegetarian/vegan themes. Many gluten-free options, clearly marked, add to the available riches. I could happily eat here every night for a week, ordering something different each time. It's not cheap; tables are closely spaced; it's somewhat noisy; but all is forgiven for the high quality of food and service.
Always an amazing experience at Forma. Make sure you order one of the Dalla Forma - their specialties.
We have been to Forma many times and it is always consistant and delishes. The wait staff is friendly and attentive! We will be back.
Forma’s pasta tossed in fresh cheese is amazing. We sampled 2 cheeses and loved the fettuccine Bolognaise. This is a spot I will go back to many times!
So consistently good
Buratta was excellent.
The Tortellini was tasty but could have been hotter in terms of temperature (not spicy).
It’s a great restaurant but that was one thing I feel could have been better.
Food is unique and that’s great! Cheese
In keeping with current restaurant trends, one has no tablecloth and somewhat spartan, though not unpleasant, decor. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but when main courses enter the high twenties and thirty dollar range, I find that a bit disconcerting. The food is splendid, and there are enough options to cobble together a meal that is not too expensive or vegetarian (the cheese components make vegan more difficult) or non-mammalian. The service is attentive without being overwhelming or, worse, snotty. Though I know how to pronounce Chitarra Cacio e Pepe, not everyone does, and they won't sneer at you here if you foul it up.
I love the pasta dish and the wine selection is wonderful. The staff paired our chaucitere and cheese perfectly. We like to arrive on the early side since it can get so loud!
It's always amazing, we love Forma! We are never disappointed. Always look forward to the next time
Simply classic pasta. Not a fan of paying $4 extra for bread at the table.
Pastas were amazing
