Forget About It Supper Club Ratings and Reviews
This is my second visit, and on both occasions the restaurant was rather empty. This is surprising for a Saturday night on King Street. During this visit, I had a caesar salad and the gnocchi. Both were good, although I could have eaten a larger portion of salad. As this is one of the less expensive restaurants in the area, I would recommend it.
Went back here because we had a good experience during TIFF in years prior. The food was ok. The service was ok but the ambiance was terrible. We were practically the only people there and it was during TIFF!! Thank goodness we sat outside and could people watch. Busiest time of the year for King St! As they say, you don't pick your restaurant by the empty tables.
We walked to our 9:30pm show and passed busy spot after busy spot. Wow. Too bad. Maybe it was the guy in the rumpled jacket with the menu out front. Maybe they should set the tables on the patio so it looks remotely inviting. I don't know. But if I was passing by looking for a spot to eat, I'd walk right by too.
The food was just ok. We ordered 4 entrees and only the risotto was really good. The potato soup we ordered seems to be only half full, looks like they ran out and just gave us what's remaining. Feels like the restaurant is catered to tourists where they don't expect them to return again.
The food was excellent....genuine, high-quality, well-prepared, and slight alternations to the standard prep were implemented with good cheer! What an arrabiata! :-) Service was fast, attentive, and friendly, and where recommendations were requested, they were carefully considered, and turned out to be spot-on.
Pretty sure this place is only popular with the pre-theatre crowd and tourists. We chose the restaurant for a friends' get-together as we all like Italian food and enjoy trying new places. It was empty for our 8pm reservation - we were literally the only table on a Friday night! Friendly and polite service, decent menu, but the food was way too salty. We had different meals and all complained about the salt. I'm sure it's a different atmosphere, and obviously convenient, before the theatre.
The place was dead for a Saturday night. 3 other tables while we were there. Service was attentive, food was good. I gave Ambiance a lower score because of the lack of people eating there. I hate to go to a restaurant that is dead but I'd already made reservations.
We have always wanted to try this.....had tickets to Book of Mormons play and tried to book last minute for dinner. Most places were already full, thank goodness. Else we would never have tried this restaurant. Have to say we were all (4 of us) delighted with our food. In fact, this is now going to be my 'go to' place before the theatre! I had a veal chop that was outstanding!! My husband had the steak with a mushroom sauce that we second only to the steak we prepare at home! Even dessert was special. We'll be back, gladly!
We have a party of 6 people and we went for supper prior to going to the Theatre. The food was excellent. They had a 3 course meal special or you could order from the menu. 5 out of 6 ordered the special 3 course meal and they all had good choices. I chose to go from the menu so I could get Shrimps, mussels and scallop linguini. It was delicious! They said the Tiramisu was delicious, but I chose to try the Banana chocolate chip cake and it was also delicious. I would definately come again to this restaurant and I would also recommend it to my friends.
We were seated immediately. The server was very attentive which was nice.
I had ordered the linguine and got spaghetti instead. When I asked about this, the waiter said it was linguine. It was not!
My husband ordered a $30 steak. He asked for the mushroom sauce instead of the peppercorn sauce. His steak came with the wrong sauce. The waiter apologized and took it back to the kitchen. Instead of firing a new steak, they just wiped off the peppercorn sauce and put on the mushroom sauce. Not impressed in the least.
We went to Forget About It before going to a play at Princess of Wales theatre. We ordered from their 3-course menu. I had salad, stuffed chicken and tiramisu. My husband had the carrot ginger soup with salmon and tiramisu. The food was fresh, well presented and very flavourful. Service was excellent. We will be back.
I had checked out this venue on Trip Advisor and was very pleased that I chose this restaurant for our dinner date for Valentines (4 days later). Superb wait staff, polite, accommodating and efficient, yet patient and attentive.
We had the $25 3-course meal and found the pasta fresh and prepared perfectly and came piping hot.
My wife and I had dinner here. A warm, welcoming atmosphere. Very relaxing and laid back. We selected Forget About It because we enjoy Frank D'Angelo's very eclectic work, from his TV show Being Frank to his movies - we thought it would be a fun place to visit during our weekend in Toronto. There are a few movie posters in the restaurant and we got to sit in booth style seating that was used in the movie "Real Gangsters". This made for a fun visit. Service was great - very friendly and genuine. Food-wise, we started with drinks (my wife had the house red wine, which she enjoyed). I had draft beer, which they have a good selection of. Started with the antipasto plate for two: it was amazing: great tasting Italian cheese, stuffed olives, artichokes. It was the highlight. Complementary super hot and fresh garlic buns were provided. Our dinners: a seafood pasta and veal dinner were great - very fresh. A solid place/ high quality. It was very reasonably priced and it helped add to our great visit to Toronto. The location is perfect - in entertainment district from walk to theatres (we walked to Roy Thompson Hall after for the TSO). Thanks for a great dinner - we will recommend it and be back sometime soon.
Been here approx 8 or 9 times. Service by waiter was terrible. Missed items , sat there forever Watched all the tables in our area get wrong order
Waiter even apologized for the bad service So maybe something else was causing it
Not what we expect when we go here
