Foreign & Domestic - Austin
Another wonderful meal! Some very unique twists to culinary favorites. Can't wait to see what they come up with on our next visit.
Excellent service, food was amazing. Wine suggestion was on point!
Food was awesome...service was friendly...However, a little too loud, but will return if we return to Austin again👍
The food was fantastic. The pork was very tender and tasty as was the bavette. Yummy popovers and a great peanut butter cookie for dessert. However, the chairs are very uncomfortable and the room was very loud. Also, the fried food smell was pervasive and my hair and clothes reeked. Finally, we were seated in an undesirable table at first, but they moved us after a bit of a fuss. ThIs has happened more then once when I book a table with Open Table, not sure why.
One of the best meals I've had in Austin! Nose to tail tasting menu was exquisite and the service was great.
Everything was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided great recommendations from their unique menu.
Amazing birthday meal with phenomenal flavors and amazing service.
We went there twice last week! Once for Tuesday happy hour where they have $1.00 oysters on the half shell and 1/2 bottle Wines!
Then we went to Sunday brunch. It was fabulous. We had Memosias and blue berry crepes. They were prepared as well as a French restaurant would do.
It is best to make reservations (not for happy hour!). It is a somewhat small place. Make sure that you ask for the waiter, Charles. Very knowledgeable, upbeat and fun. Also, I like their decor, very fresh and hip.
The service was ok. Server was kind and thoughtful. But our kiddos food wasn’t brought out so I had to ask and then wait an extra 5+ minutes for it. We had to ask for coffee refills also, and then we were charged for 8 coffees (only 3 of us ordered coffee). I noticed after the bill had been paid, so they had to recharge the credit card (my fault), but it was another annoyance after the long wait for the kiddos food.
Don't let it's modest exterior fool you. This is a great spot. Staff is friendly and very well trained. The menu was not only creative, but every coarse was spot on. Next time in Austin this will be on my list.
The whole experience - from making the reservation to be seated, so having an incredible meal. Best spot in Austin hands down
Yummy, yummy. We had a great meal of seasonal selections. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I bit into the risotto with lamb. And foie gras mousse for dessert with cherry jam? Doesn't get much more decadent than that. Popovers with the dressing from my heirloom tomato salad was a delectable combination. I wish the seating were slightly more comfortable. It's great entertainment to watch the kitchen staff. This is our third meal (two dinners and one brunch) over a couple of years. I need to be less of a stranger.
Amazing burger and other items were delicious too. I would definitely come back.
My only feedback relates to food cross contamination. My wife is a vegan and loves the fact F&D has a separate menu. We’ve sat at the bar several times. The chefs cut the focaccia bread on the same wooden cutting board they cut meat/hearts. They also were searing the vegetables with meat so the juices were dripping down into her vegan vegetables. Love the food, love the atmosphere, service is always great. We walk from our house and my Wife is hesitant to eat each time.
Great service. Excellent happy hour small plates.
Fabulous meal and overall experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. One of the best restaurant meals we've had in Austin. You just have to deal with the noise - kind of let it energize you instead of bother you!!! :-)
The red snapper in the green curry was absolutely delightful and I highly recommend that dish. The salad with the honeycrisp apple and ricotta dressing was a great starter.
I had the Offal Tasting Menu, which was amazing! Two of the dishes were definitely in my top 5 for this year‘s dining out experiences. The service was great: they were very informative with each course as to its ingredients and their recommendations. It is a smaller venue, which creates a louder noise level. But I highly recommend and definitely will return when in Austin again!
Only thing I can possibly wish for is better parking (only cause I feel bad parking in the neighborhood).
Warm welcome and lovely pink cremant got us going in the right direction. Food was delicious. Other wines by the glass were fine, but not wonderful. Next time we’ll choose dishes based on a bottle we select. Would love to see a dark chocolate something and a citrusy thing on the dessert menu, and a few ports by the glass to round off the night.
I went for $1 oysters and also had their texas apple salad, both were delicious. The service was okay, seemed distracted. overall a very enjoyable experience.
One of the best restaurants in the city! A MUST try if you are in Austin.
Slow service to start but excellent food!
Wonderful food and a charming staff who understand the recipes they're serving -- they haven't simply memorized talking points.
Just a perfect meal. Fresh, amazing service, tremendous food!
Food and service were excellent. It's a small space, so it feels a little crowded. Noise level is very high. But, the food and service are such that we will be back.
Everything was great!
Always fantastic food and the best Tuesday place in Austin! $1 oysters and half off bottles of wine paired with healthy and delicious farm to table fare.
Not many places that I want to hug the entire team every time I see them. That’s how happy their food makes me....today was no exception😍😍😍
Really impressed with the attentive and knowledgeable service staff as well as the food - everything was delicious and we enjoyed unique items on the menu that one may not be able to find elsewhere. Personally, I really appreciate the focus and attention on the relationships with local farms.
It's been a while since we've been to a restaurant that excited our taste buds like they did here. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed the presentation of the food so much that they had to try everything and she is usually not too adventurous. My 9 year old son really enjoyed his steak dinner. The french fries are unreal!
Consistently fantastic dining experience. It keeps me coming back every six weeks or so to see what new creative ideas they’ve conjured.
this place is amazing. I did not want to stop eating
On of the best meals I have had this year. The pork dish was fabulous. My wife had had the fish, a red snapper. Very nicely done.
Amazing flavors and exceptional staff, from waiters to the chef. Would definitely go again.
My family and I love this restaurant. Great food, atmosphere and service.
Went for brunch - good savory and sweet options; limited drinks (beer/wine) and vegetarian options.
I went for late dinner with a reservation, great wine list and very knowledgeable staff so I had higher expectations. The place is way to laud and don't have any ventilation so you will smell like you were eating on a kitchen.
We had for appetizers Popovers (were good) and gnocchi with mushrooms they were barely palatable because the mushrooms were so salty that I couldn't eat them even combined with the gnocchi.
Second course, Risotto with the same sauce of the gnocchi ....but at least the mushrooms were different. My wife had the Pork, the sauce and the pork were "disconnected" pork well cooked crazy salty and out of the blue sauce.
So don't go there with expectations of sophisticated cuisine based on the very good ingredients and WELL curated wine list, it is just a very laud and smelly diner
Very rich Very Delicious!!
