The Forebay at Hershey Lodge
Our first time at the Forebay and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and even though it was slightly pricey it was right in line with other fine Hershey restaurants. Worth every penny! The service was outstanding as well. Our waitress went above and beyond to satisfy our requests.
Our waiter Ryan was very attentive and friendly we enjoyed our visit
A lovely dining experience and our server was helpful and accommodating.
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff & service. Food was absolutely amazing. This was my first time visiting the Forebay and it won’t be my last. So hard to find a restaurant that stands out as well as the Forebay. I highly recommend dining here
My wife and I chose this restaurant for a date night. After arriving here, it was apparent that the Hershey Lodge was super busy with tourists and families visiting Hershey Park. An evening rainstorm had pushed people out of the park and apparently many of them had found their way here. It was very loud in the restaurant. Food was good and service was good too. Atmosphere was not conducive to a date night.
The restaurant was very nice and the food was excellent. The service was slow, and the noise level was high. I was surprised that there were so many children in this restaurant as the atmosphere is dark and cozy like a date night restaurant with a beautiful bar. I’d love to go back, but I’m afraid that it might feel like Disneyland again! BTW , I love kids, but not in that type of setting.
David provided excellent service AND the food was delicious.
Awesome food, waiter on top of things, very informative, bussers polite, efficient.
My husband and I went to Forebay for what we thought would be a quiet Anniversary dinner. Our major complaint was that, with a reservation, we were seated at a table immediately next to the door leading to the outside patio. The patio immediately began to fill with patrons, which meant the door next to us was continually opening and closing, patrons coming and going, bustling servers discussing their serving plans, platters of drinks, platters of food... The activity was endless. It was difficult to enjoy our dinner when it felt more like we were visiting Grand Central Station. Meanwhile, there were numerous empty tables throughout the restaurant. Sure, we could have picked up everything and relocated to another table. But the situation should have been prevented, simply by removing that particular table during the months when the patio is in use. The finishing touch was finding a hair baked into one of the pretzel sticks. By then, we had decided we would not be returning to this restaurant.
This was our third time here over the past few years. We love this place, our favorite at Hershey. It's usually outstanding, but the last time, the service was off. Our waitress seemed flustered, not very helpful. Service was also quite slow, as the restaurant may have been short staffed. Food was still great, however. We would still highly recommend it, just a rare off night I guess for us last time.
My husband and I had a fabulous meal at Forebay. Food was delicious! Everything was outstanding!
Shrimp bisque was a good starter to the neal.
The pork shank was delicious. Fell of the bone. Melt in mouth.
Clubby atmosphere. Nice drinks. Filet Mignon is always delicious. Jim is a terrific waiter. It is my go to restaurant in Hershey.
The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and attentive.
This is the perfect place to end a long day at the park. It is the perfect place to get away from the noise and the typical park and resort food. The menu is meant for a nice relaxing dinner with or without kids. This is my second trip to Hershey and the second visit to The Forebay and we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. We recommend it to people who enjoy good service and food. Good wine list.
This restaurant was overpriced as one might expect from a theme-park-hotel restaurant. The service was not good. They seemed to be making an effort though, and it may just be that our server was new or having an off night. I usually like to give people the benefit of the doubt. This is not a bad restaurant, but could have been better if more moderately priced items were included on the menu and orders were taken correctly.
The Forebay at the Hershey Lodge has really improved! Food was excellent! So glad to have this option close to home.
The food was excellent. Service was fantastic as well. I just love the atmosphere!! People are so warm and friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate you!
Whenever we attend this conference, I always make sure I make a reservation at this restaurant.
It seemed our server had too many tables. We had to ask for water a couple times. It took a long time to get cocktail orders and order dinner. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and super nice.
Open table did not forward my request to have a window seat.
Went for restaurant week and ordered from special menu. Have been here before but restaurant week menu food was okay. But my husband always loves the pretzel bread.
The Forebay continues to rank in the top 3 for our Hershey Area dining experiences. Food is always good. Service matches. Ambiance small and unique. Only complaint (this is a local speaking), can't get reservations from end of May through Labor Day. Does not deter us! We still visit and sit at the bar. Keep up the good work!
The Forebay has a great menu on any occasion. However, during Hershey Restaurant Week, the special menu is especially creative and an exceptional value. For $35, you get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and delicious pretzel rolls. A wonderful treat for dinner!
We were pleasantly surprised, not knowing what to expect. Old school restaurant environment with plush leather seating. Service was excellent as was the food. We'll be back.
The Brussel Sprout appetizer and the Stuffed Calamari appetizer were two of the best we’ve ever had. My mother, from Italy, was not too happy to hear that her stuffed calamari were no longer my favorite. I will make a trip back just for her to try this dish.
Not to be outdone our filets and strip steak were cooked to perfection, the sides were great (mashed potatoes, cippolini onions, mushrooms) and the sauces were the perfect compliment.
The molten chocolate cake with peanut butter inside was delicious.
Our waitress Brie really completes the perfect experience.
We were expecting a nice meal, but we were extremely happy to have an exquisite meal. This will 100% be our dinner spot when we are in Hershey.
A birthday celebration. Very nice
Cozy restaurant with attentive service. Loved that the food was all made in-house.
The food was absolutely delicious and great portions! Loved the winter white cosmopolitan ❤️
Our food was outstanding and our service even better! Ryan, our server, was fun and personable, he added to our experience. Such a fun night!! ** the brussel sprouts appetizer (can't believe I'm raving about brussel sprouts!?!) was so great. We couldn't stop talking about it!
Amazing!!! Will definitely be back.
An OK upscale choice when dining in at Hersey Lodge. A few minor rough spots
The Chocolate Martini was delicious. The food was not great, it was just fine and what worsened this was what the food was cold, including the soup. The service was great! - the only thing missed was that in the notes of the reservations, I put it was the birthday of my son - and nobody congratulates him.
Extremely loud venue with only half of the seating full. Service was slow but food was good. We expected more from a Hershey property.
Yes yes yes. I enjoyed this place. I am typically very hard on restaurants and reviews in general. The seafood bisque was amazing. The cauliflower soup was totally great. My wife also had the bourbon glazed pork chop. I tried it. Omg. So good. Im getting turned on juat thinking about it. I had the halebet . great fish dish. I rnjoyed it so much. We had all this and 2 drinks for 100$. Not bad. The wait staff is great and the ambiance is so neat. Its small and you will deffinately want to make a reservation. We went at 9pm on a saturday night. Great time to go, by the way. Oh, and my wife a corn bread was amazing. I recommend giving this place a try. I plan to come back if i visit hershey soon.
We had a wonderful meal at the Forebay and our server Jim was excellent. We took his suggestions and weren’t disappointed with any of them. You can go wrong with any of the deserts or signature martinis. We were at Hershey Lodge for the annual Weekend to Remember couples retreat and the Forebay was the perfect place for our “date night.”
Our wait was the guy who is Australian and he was amazing!
The food is good, and it has some interesting dishes. The price is just a little high.
The food was amazing, waiter was excellent an very kind an informative about each dish. The atmosphere was great, mellow music so u can relax an have conversation while enjoying your food.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. My steak was excellent but my girlfriend's crab cakes came out cold.
Excellent as always!!
