Best meal I’ve had all year, service was great and food was OUTSTANDING! I definitely recommend to anyone for a nice night out.
very charming byob. the food is imaginitive and unique but lacks professional execution and balance of flavors. the pasta was fresh made and al dente but the sauces were overly salty and one note. the entrees were small and tasty but not dynamic and not what one would expect for the price. the owner/waiter is very attentive and nice, and i hear his wife is the chef. i like supporting local business but the prices overall should be adjusted before i would consider returning to try again.
Forcella is one of our favorite BYOBs and we love bringing friends here. The setting is cozy and you feel as if you are dining in a friend’s house- if your friend is a wonderful chef. The menu is available a la Carrie or as a 4 course + dessert prix fixe (a great value). We love everything on the menu - the last time standouts included spicy mushroom dumplings, an Asian Pear salad, an excellent filet mignonette and an awesome homemade pumpkin cheesecake. The couple who own and run the restaurant are delightful. Can’t wait to return!
Good neighborhood restaurant. Food was good and Service was excellent.
Always wonderfully prepared & tasteful dishes made with fresh ingredients.
Fantastic food and great experience
Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there 10/27/2018. We forgot our wine & owner (husband) provided a great bottle for free & also later played our special wedding song later (after asking us what it was in conversation). He & his wife (chef) are a great team. Small open dining room (street front) but comfortable. He provides great service & his wife is an excellent chef. We did the 5 course tasting menu & everything was awesome, especially the filet mignon I had (best ever) and the scallops. Great value ($65 per person) based on the quality of the food + the 5 courses (includes dessert) + being BYOB. We found close, free parking. I would highly recommend this place & special thanks to the owners for a great night.
Everything was great! We got the chefs menu & every course was delicious! We shared the filet & Risotto with asparagus & both were seasoned to perfection!
The service was excellent as well. I look forward to returning & trying the fall menu.
Dining at Forcella was incredible. We went for a birthday celebration and it was the perfect spot. Bruce and Esther make such a great team and their inviting, bubbly personalities make the place that much more remarkable. The cozy seating and dim lights make for a romantic evening whether you are celebrating something special or just want a night to yourselves. Being a BYOB spot was also a huge bonus. Will definitely return!
An absolute find in Jenkintown, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. Food was prepared and presented beautifully. Bruce, the owner, and his wife, the chef, created a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy excellent food. We felt as if we were invited into their home for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend.
Forcella never disappoints! Bruce and ester always go out of their way to make each and every dining experience memorable. The food is excellent and the service attentive. We will surely be returning for years to come. Love you forcella!
We discovered Forcella last Spring and have dined there several times. The service is outstanding, and the food superb. Bruce (runs the front) and Ester (the chef) have gotten this right! Intimate and cozy dining area with creative and delicious food with beautiful presentation. Seasonal menu that is relatively limited, but superb. Prix fix menu is a bargain. Upscale informal. Perfect. BYOB.
Great first course! The rest was good but couldn’t compare to the first course. Excellent service and ambience.
Nice place to have quiet dinner. Everything is perfectl
Our anniversary dinner at Forcella was fantastic. Really enjoyed the tasting menu and service was above and beyond. Highly recommend.
Very good food in a cozy space. Fresh/seasonal ingredients used throughout although menu is relatively limited. Cash only on evening we visited.
Excellent food, exceptional service! We will be back, and recommending to friends and family.
Absolutely outstanding customer service! We went for a birthday and it was memorable for all of the right reasons!
We have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time. It is so close to where we live and we heard great things about it. The owner and his wife (chef), were so warm and welcoming and so interested in making sure that we were enjoying our meal. They were so delightful. We did enjoy our meal very much. The ambiance was perfect - lovely yet not over the top. Each dish was delicious. We will be returning to Forcella often and will recommend it to our friends.
Food, service & ambiance wonderful. Small cozy place. Owners/chef very attentive & warm. Felt like you were eating in someone's home. We'll be back!
Visited for first time for our anniversary. They were extremely friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and fresh. Menu changes seasonally, incorporating fresh ingredients from the season. The food was the right kind of perfect for a special occasion. Its cozy and we felt like we were celebrating among friends. We will definitely visit again.
Another great meal at Forcella. This time we brought friends for a 60th birthday celebration and they were bowled over by the food. Service is always wonderful (a husband and wife team handle front and back of the house respectively). At $55 for a 4 course meal, the value is great for a white tablecloth, fine dining (without the pretentiousness) experience. Can’t wait to go again.
Esther Kwok and her partner Ken have created a microcosm of grand flavor and exotic comfort which my wife and I with two others enjoyed this past Saturday. I heartily recommend the Korean free range chicken and Ellen love the savory salmon. Be advised this is a tasting menu served in a sequence and with courses that demand a lazily consumption to allow you to luxuriate in Esther's creations.
Small intimate atmosphere, amazing food and genuine service. Here you are not just a customer you are a person with wants and needs that are addressed and accommodated. Perfect for all ages and people, highly reccomended!
The food was exceptional and the service very good. The noise level was terrible because a crowd at one of the restaurant was inconsiderate and talked loudly, which caused me to not hear the person I was talking to. The restaurant needs to enhance its dining room with noise reduction devices to absorb loud noises. In fact, the overall ambiance needs some sprucing up. The furniture was comfortable and cozy. The table was beautifully dressed. I would go there again for the food, which is of great importance to me, but not for the ambiance.
Absolutely delicious food! The chef-owner, Esther and her husband Bruce, are very lovely people. Very warm and welcoming!!
This is the 3rd time I’ve been here, and the food & service were both excellent, as in the past. Bruce and his wife Esther are wonderful hosts, and she’s an amazingly-talented chef.
The only thing we noticed is that the summer menu was fairly limited, with only a few options each of us could eat (gluten-free diet and garlic-free for my friend), and there were no salads on the menu this time.
I would definitely come back!
Excellent, small BYOB. Wonderful service and the owners are amazing. Great food!
We had another wonderful meal at Forcella, an intimate BYOB in Jenkintown. The owners are wonderful hosts and make dining feel like a special occasion. The 4 course prix fixe menu is a great value, with enough choices to please everyone. The chef/owner uses seasonal ingredients, so it is fun to dine there as the seasons change. We give Forcella our highest recommendation!
Food is amazing, and the owners are awesome! Great place for any occasion.
Our date here was perfect. Having moved outside the city, it's been hard to find a fine-dining location that doesn't feel too much like a chain or where the waiters seem indifferent to the customers. Forcella is a gem of the Northern Philly Suburbs.
The restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife; the wife prepares the food and the husband serves it. Both of them were lovely, and the husband made us feel so warm and welcomed.
The highlight of the night was certainly our entrees. I had the Salmon and my wife had the Filet Mignon - both practically melted in our mouths and were truly meals which you wanted to slow down on because you were worried that soon they'd be gone.
Our only gripe was that the second course felt a little lower quality than the rest of the meal, but all in all, Forcella is well worth the cost, and certainly worth a 20-ish minute drive to try out. Great for intimate dates or double dates, but very cozy! Make reservations in advance.
We had a nice meal. Food was beautifully presented and both my friend and I had the daily fish special of salmon which was delicious. Service was attentive but a little too exuberant at times when we just wanted to talk.
WOWWWWWWWW-WOWWWWWWWW-WOWWWWWWWWWW. Get ready for your taste buds to explode with pure happiness. We felt so special how our waiter treated us. The 4 course meal is more then just a meal, it was journey of excitement. We had so much anticipation waiting for the next course. Please, bring a bottle of wine and let Forcella do the rest. You will leave their wondering how you ever ate any other food. as I'm writing this, I have the biggest smile on my face from my experience. I recommend the 8pm seating. 2 hours of pure enjoyment. We will be back for the best kept secret in Jenkintown.
Lovely food, creative, attentive, warm, welcoming, relaxing. We’ve eaten here many times, consistently good, Bruce and Esther gracious and genuine. We’ll be back!
The cuisine was creative and delicious. Very accommodating to Gluten free dining without losing any of the taste and presentation. Wonderful! Coming back with our friends.
Food and Service was excellent! Highly recommend the dumpling appetizer.
Excellent food, excellent service, and an overall excellent experience. They took care of us, and spoiled my wife on her birthday. The menu had a enough diversity to it that a vegetarian can thoroughly enjoy themselves and a steak lover can have themselves a party. Highly recommended, and looking forward to the next visit.
The best meal we have had in many months. We often go out for fine dinning.
The 4 course option is a bargain.
A thoughtful, seasonal and creative menu. Unique ingredients, well put together. Each course outdid the previous. The highlight for me was the steak, which was hands down the best steak I've ever had. The steak was succulent, perfectly tender and perfectly cooked. Ambience was beautiful. The service was outstanding. This restaurant is a true local gem!
We had a lovely meal here on Saturday. Things to know include the fact that the restaurant is very small, so you will be sitting close to fellow diners. Also, the menu is limited, so this may not be the best choice for non adventurous eaters. That said, we enjoyed everything ordered and did not feel crowded! Our host/server was attentive and very interested in making sure that all our needs were met. We will return!
