Hosted Sunday brunch for out-of-town (Ottawa) visitors. Food was up to the usual high standard (corned bison hash!) Teenage daughter pronounced pancakes as best she ever had. Service was attentive if a bit slow. Noise level high, but manageable.

Good food, good service, and good ambiance. Nothing mind blowing but great place for breakfast/brunch. They have home made ketchup (it’s a little sweet for my taste), homemade nutella (tastes like Ferraro Roche), the turkey sausage hash and halibut cake benny was delicious.

Forage never disappoints and bunch is an excellent excuse to dine there. The scones were lovely with a great crumb and crunchy top. My french toast was great with more savoury notes than sweet. I can't wait to go back.

The food was pretty good. But they brought our dishes at very different times. By the time my mother’s dish was ready I had almost finished mine. I don’t think my mother had a good experience there.
The noise level was really loud as well. The portions were also pretty small.

Good food but I don’t think it lived up to my expectations. We were far too close to the tables next to us so there was no sense of intimacy. It was clearly a four or six seating table split up with maybe 2-3ft between us. Noise level was high due to hard furnishings and open plan design so I felt myself shouting during conversation. I enjoyed the flavourful food but I believe it was more expensive than it should have been. Pleasant and efficient service. More suited to people looking for a more lively atmosphere and not a private date/dinner.

As always Forage has the best and most creative dishes you will find in Vancouver. My personal fav is the chowder but all the dishes are lovely. They didn't have their grilled kale salad on the menu yet (it comes around in the winter) but other than that, this exceeded our expectations.

We had a wonderful dinner at forage while visiting Vancouver. The food was very good, especially within the constraints of farm-to-table in mid-November British Columbia. Service was excellent - our waiter explained every component of every dish to us, and knowledgeably answered questions about the food and wine menus.

Two things would take forage over the top and put it inline with some of the 1 Michelin star places I've been to: 1) get rid of the TVs! These make an otherwise beautifully designed restaurant feel like a sports bar! Even though they show some lovely pictures of forage's better dishes, I don't want to see this on a TV - I want to be happily surprised when you serve it to me! 2) Tone down the sugar in your desserts, like by half. The desserts had so much potential for interesting taste pairings (gin/blueberries/cream cheese?! elderflower/blueberries/chocolate?!) but all that came through was SUGARY.

Finally tried Forage and was pleasantly surprised. Very well executed dishes that sounded great on paper and were even better on the plate. We had all the vegetarian options and liked the balanced of flavours. Also very much liked that the chef does not shy away from butter. Very nice BC only wine list, which had some great boutique wineries represented. Great wait staff that happily brought me another glass of wine when I made a mistake ordering. Only thing we weren't a big fan of was the closeness of the tables, where you really can hear more or less everything your neighbour is talking about.

Online booking was ideal as we got a desired corner table. Service was excellent, very attentive server who checked in frequently with us to ensure all was well. Menu selection was very limited and servings were small. Food wasn't particularly outstanding to rave but was nicely presented. We were visiting from Victoria BC.

Perfect brunch spot. It is a bit loud, but that can't really be helped. Coffee was okay, but the food is excellent! Great service. It's my current fave breakfast and brunch place.

Unique & wonderful combinations of flavors - we ordered the seafood chowder, mushrooms & goat cheese, the gnocchi & lobster mushrooms (my favorite), beet salad & caraway rye crumbs, green salad, elderflower & fromage frais cheese puff - all excellent. I’d love to return to see what they offer in various seasons.

Wonderful presentation of locally-grown ingredients, including alcoholic beverages. Menu, while a little limited, has choices for most tastes. The bison was outstanding. Each dish had a variety of complementary tastes. Service was nicely paced and helpful. We would return on our next visit to Vancouver.
