forage Ratings and Reviews
Although it didn't take long for us to get seated, it took about 30- 35 minutes for our dishes to arrive. I understand since it is Sunday morning and it is busy. However, the environment is quite noisy, we could barely hear each other most of the time. The food overall is very good.
Great venue, food and service. This is my second time at Forage and it was equally impressive this time as well. Food is very fresh and they keep the dishes coming at a perfect pace. Service is excellent with a knowledgeable, quick-witted server. A new favorite!
It was first time to have dinner at this restaurant.
We thought this restaurant is quiet atmosphere before we go there.
It means not "Noisy". It means "Vibrant". Although there is hotel's restaurant, really friendly and good casual restaurant.
They have not so many variety of the menu but they have exclusive dishes. Especially, roasted pan bread was really good taste!
Staff was kind even though we are forigner. When we couldn't translate a ingridient, he serched for us by translate app. We really appriciate for him.
We enjoyed having dinner there and we want to go again. Thank you!
Decent but unexceptional. French toast was a bit too soggy and eggy. Merguez sausage was good— rich and a little spicy. Service was friendly but somewhat inattentive. Ambiance pleasant. Surprised by the strong reviews of this place, as I found nothing particularly special about it.
The food here was amazing! All of the flavours went so well together. Hats off to the amazing creativity of the chef. I would definitely get this restaurant and 10. The only small negative thing here was the space between the tables was literally about 2 inches so be prepared to be close to your neighbors. It didn't really bother us but may be something others might want be aware of.
I love Forage - it is probably my favorite restaurant in Vancouver. However this most recent visit was spoiled by the hostess who welcomed us to the restaurant by telling us that the restaurant had a "hard close" at 2PM (our reservation was for 1:30) with no exceptions and we needed to be finished as quickly as possible. Another host tried to save the moment but the opportunity for a true welcome was gone for us. An $80 Christmas brunch should not begin in such a stressful manner. Our server was great and extremely helpful/knowledgeable. Food (kale salad, chicken liver pate, halibut cheek benny, and turkey hash) and drink (very unique naramata pear cider and amber lager) were delicious and plentiful - as always.
We went for brunch on Sunday. The restaurant is cozy, and the seating is pretty close together, the waitress had to get by my chair half a dozen times to check on the other table in the corner. Not a big deal for me, but mentioning it as it may bother some people.
I am vegan, as a note to any other vegans, there aren't many vegan options on the menu, but they can modify a menu item if you ask. The only downside is that you are still charged the full price minus the meat/ egg for the dishes with a little more vegetable. I got a veggie hash, and was charged for a Turkey hash. Would be nice if they added something else in place of the protein (e.g. side of mushrooms, crispy potatoes etc.).
The food was good, the hash comes with a couple different jams (might be different depending on the day). The server was friendly and accommodating.
Overall a good place to go for brunch on the weekend. It does get busy and you may have to wait if you don't make a reservation.
Food here is served family style. We had the flatbread, Brussels sprouts, Halibut cheeks and duck breast. We loved the Halibut and could have skipped the duck. We had the flexible chocolate for dessert which was scrumptious especially when paired with the Back Hand of God stout served on tap. Service was great even on a busy day so close to Christmas.
We booked a table for 4 at Forage because my daughter had highly recommended it. I wish it was as good as she raved about it! We waited so long for our food. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks did, so in all we waited 30 minutes for our drinks. Each course took almost 25 minutes to arrive to the table, and when they did come we were famished...but what we saw were tiny portions that left us hungry for more. The duck breast was so small and it came out cold. We ordered a salad and it was very overdressed. After dinner we went across the street to eat ramen.
My wife and I went to Forage for an evening out dining downtown. We were very happy with the food and service. So much flavour in the dishes, and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, and return in the future!
Ate here with 2 other couples last night for the first time. They sat us at a tiny table tucked away in the corner which I was not really impressed by since we made a reservation well in advance. Overall, drinks, wine and the food were very good. Plates are quite creative. However, the portion sizes are very small for the prices you pay. While I have a love affair with brussel sprouts, $26 for like 10 of them??!!! - is a bit ridiculous in my mind. Favourite dishes included the halibut and duck. The desserts were also top notch. To be honest, not sure if I will come here again. We had a good night and the food was good, but there are better places in Vancouver where the food is just as good, if not better, with bigger portions and lower prices.
