It was just ok. Waiter was very slow to bring refills and never asked if we wanted a second round of cocktails. Never came by to ask if the food was good. We found it to be just ehh. Risotto was not risotto. It had no flavor.
Awesome as always!
Food was fair. Nothing great in my opinion. Couldn't even get my order right. Had reservation and more people were added to it but when additional people came to check in there were never sent over to our table. They waited over a half hr as the hostess said we hadn't arrived yet.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Management is so engaged. I have been going there for years and they always stop by to say hello - so charming, all of them! :)
Horrible experience. Worst wait staff I have experienced in a very long time. They served us spoiled food and then tried to deny it. It was very bizarre. The place, however, was packed so clearly it is popular. Maybe it was just a one off fluke. I don't know. Regardless, I will never go there again.
I haven’t been there for years and I remembered it being very good. However tonight The food was very good tonight.
As always, terrific food and superb service.
A very nice surprise !! Loved the food and our server was extremely nice so it made our first experience that much better 👍🏼👍🏼
Always great. Go often and enjoy every time. Waiter and manager always want to make it a special time and they succeed.
Wow! I’m so glad I revisited this place.
They have a Monday special: Buy one and get one 50% off. Excellent already.
We are gluten free. (Well, my husband is and I am sometimes.) They have gluten free pasta, which is nice, but boring. But, they offer zoodles!!! Can’t tell you happy I was to be able to order zoodles and enjoy an Italian pasta dish with none of the guilt. The zoodles were perfectly cooked—I even like the way they were prepared more than what I’ve gotten at Noodle & Company.
I like to do low-carb, so I’ll be back to get zoodles in a low-carb sauce next time.
The sauce was amazing. Kind of like an Indian butter chicken, but a little less rich.
I like the olive oil and Parm they serve for dipping bread, but it could’ve used some green seasoning (Italian seasonings) and garlic. The bread was great.
Our salads were fantastic. The ranch tasted homemade and had so much flavor. The house dressing was, of course, homemade and was light-tasting and wonderful.
Even the minestrone (something I don’t typically love) was so tasty.
Service was absolutely fabulous. Only wish I could remember our waiter's name to specifically mention him. Food was absolutely delicious. Shrimp diablo was spicy with out having to ask for it spicy and the rockfish was delicious. Had the crab and artichoke appetizer and that was great. Finished it off with a gelato that was awesome. Will definitely be returning.
Consistently good food that is nicely prepared and very tasty. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area
Food was delicious, but the service could have been better. We had asked several times to get more bread and olive oil.
Great food. My only complaint is my table to being ready at my reservation time.
They were able to accommodate my birthday party of 15 on a Friday night! Maria did an outstanding job with all of our party. The food was delicious! It had been a long time since I had been there but I'll be back soon!
Always a great experience and delicious meal! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food and service was good. They honored our rsvp. We were seated right away. Our server was Muhammad. Bread and oil was yummy! We ordered artichoke crab dip. Cioppino and linguine clams. Our 2 yrs old got antsy so we didn’t get to try dessert. Will be back and do recommend dinner.
Consistently excellent food and service; noise level kind of high but that's true of all suburban restaurants these days!
Great experience like always! Great food great service!
Hard to beat the old favorites on this menu. My chicken was piccatta was about as good as I can find. Owners always stop by to check on how things are going. Our group of five loves coming here.
We love the Fontina Grille! We always come back for the soup, pastas, and draft beers.
I have lunch at Fontina Grille about twice a month. While I am not a fan of the buffet, which creates a lot of noisy traffic past one's table, I return again and again for the very good crab cakes appetizer and the grilled tuna salad. The ingredients are very good and simply prepared to retain the seafood flavors. While the wine list is short, it is well chosen and reasonably priced. The Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc goes particularly well with the seafood. For those who like espresso after a nice meal, the brand used by the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Finally, the tables by the large windows are great for fans of natural light.
Best Italian food I've had in some time. The shrimp scampi was fresh and seasoned to the point. Service was not stellar but the place was very busy. The ambience is great and it seemed like a great place for both happy hour and dinner. Will come back.
We always enjoy Fontina Grille. The food is always good and the service is alays pleasant. Never have a bad meal.
We made reservations for July 4th. No place on the website did it say they were only serving buffet; we were told as we were seated. The food was like-warm at best. They had cheese pizza (good), salad (good), chicken wings (breaded and unbreaded) - so spicy we could not eat them (terrible), meatballs - tasted frozen, thawed and warmed (terrible), seafood pasta dish (was ok), mussels (not a lover so we passed), cheese ravioli in a Rosa sauce (very good), chicken Alfredo’s (best dish of the evening). My wife certainly did NOT eat $20 of food that it cost me. Will not go back on a holiday.
No buffet on holidays, so not as good a value for lunch. Food and service were still excellent, and price isn't bad... But hard to beat the buffet!
Went to the lunch buffet. Selection was limited, but everything they had was superb. Servers were attentive, food was refreshed often. Fantastic buffet and ridiculous value at $12.
GO TO PLACE -
VERY FRIENDLY/ATTENTIVE STAFF/GOOD FOOD-SELECTIONS/REASONABLY PRICED.
RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED ON WEEKEND --
Service was excellent. Four stars for a solid neighborhood eatery.
One of our favorite "go-to" restaurants. The owners and wait staff are always welcoming and efficient, and the large menu provides lots of great choices.
The Italian food was amazing. I will be coming back for sure.
We sat outside and it was lovely. Delicious food as usual, and attentive-but-not-intrusive service. The friend we brought with us loved it, and so did we!
We were looking for a nice restaurant featuring seafood in the area. We were impressed and very pleased with our meal at the Fontina Grille, from start to finish. Wonderful food and service. Thank you!
The food was served extremely hot. However, the service could have been better. I had to ask another waiter to serve me water and receive my check. The eggplant parmigiana had an odd taste towards the end of the meal. I will try a different dish.
We have eaten here a couple times now and suggest it. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming and portions are generous. Their list of house cocktails is small and lacks creativity, but the wine selection is decent. And to round out the meal is a dessert menu with just enough options to satisfy everyone. If there is one thing that we would like to see improved is the acoustics of the dining area: it always seems louder than it should for a roomful of people just our for dinner.
The food at Fontina Grill is always excellent! There are many choices on the menu. The servers are friendly and efficient.
The tables were very small, even for four people. The service was good and the food was fabulous! The server was full Italian, but I finally got a smile!!!
Outstanding meal! I especially recommend the wild mushroom appetizer and anything seafood! Service was excellent too.
My first time to Fontina Grille. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere, very good service, and pretty good and fresh food. I would definitely go back again.
