Fontana at the Biltmore Hotel
It’s not a super high end restaurant but we enjoyed it
It was delicious!! Great food, ate outside, beautiful, great service-can’t find anything to complain about!☺️
The service was horrible the system shut down and I was not able to sit till 30 mins after my reservation. Then while serving wine a piece of the cork was floating in the wine and I asked for the bottle to be replaced then I was charged for the bottle with pieces of the cork then my server was horrible . I had a horrible experience and spent 500
I don’t like to write comments but today Dinner left me speechless. Waited 55mins to sit down even though we had reservation. After we sat down it took them forever to bring us water and bread. The Bottle of Bordeaux wine was amazing but the food was horrible. My $65 Steak was overcooked and pretty blend. I was really disappointed cause I know this place could be better since we’ve eaten here before. Once we finished it took another 25-20mins to find my server for the check. Even one of the busboy told me to just walk away cause he couldn’t find the server. All and all... it’s gonna take a miracle of God for me to return but we’ll see.
Reviewing a restaurant’s Valentine’s Day performance is perhaps unfair, but there’s no reason to royally mess up a menu staple like chicken parmigiana. My husband says, “it’s the worst I ever had,” and he’s a chicken parm aficionado. Way too much cheese, flavorless sauce, soggy breading, and at room temperature equals a big fat meh. Full disclosure: my branzino was great, although plated the old fashioned way of simply putting it on the plate with a scoop of mashed potatoes and a spoonful of veggies. It was delicious, but visually boring, and it being 2020 and all, I expected a little more flair for my $46.
Always a great dinner. Always great service. Always great ambiance! Love Fontana!!
Great people and property
We begin our evening with cocktails at the Biltmore bar. The staff was excellent and even contacted the restaurant for us as we are enjoying ourselves so much that we wish to delay going to the Fontana where we had reservations. Fontana’s experience was great as usual! The snapper entree was outstanding all the way to our Lemincello to close the evening. We’d love to believe it’s “everyday dining” but very few can afford this experience on a regular basis.
The service and food was excellent! And the ambiance is magical! Nice Italien music in background! It was a wonderful night for our special occasion!
This is an excellent place for very good food; in fact many dishes are outstanding. The beautiful outdoor courtyard, among the ferns, and orchids, and palms is a treat most times of the year. Excellent choice!
Outstanding food and service. The outdoor dining was exquisite on a beautiful Feb night in Miami. I would highly recommend this restaurant even if you are not staying at the Biltmore.
Great service all around, from walking into the hotel, to having the server remove last crumb from the table as we finished our wine.
Michelle, truly made the night special as we had friends in town. Made us feel like we've known her for years and she took over our courses. Chef Dieudy and the team checked on our tablr as well, truly amazing service.
Everything was awesome as usual, however, would love to hear some Italian music while dining
Would let them know the courtyard is lovely but the food mediocre especially for the price
Fabulous venue. Beautiful fountain garden. Great service. Really mediocre food.
First time here seated on the patio, service was good portions were really good , Barada cheese was good , rabbit was good , veal Dish good as well , will go back again overall good. Experience .
Our go to place when we have company from out of town. The hotel and the restaurant have a wonderful atmosphere!
Hilda was wonderful! Great special occasion breakfast!
Outstanding food and service at this well known upscale restaurant at the Biltmore in Coral Gables. Wonderful atmosphere and unique Italian menu selections. Fabulous Sunday Brunch. Reservations are advised. Highly recommended!
The courtyard is wonderful, very romantic and quiet although, the night we went they had a party going on upstairs and the music was loud enough to be heard in the area below. But, the service was outstanding and so was the food. Very enjoyable atmosphere and a lovely evening.
The food was OK. WE didn't order any of the specials and we think they might have been better. My lasagna was home made but it had clearly been made some time previously and was a little heavy. My friend's spaghetti with clams was fine if not distinguished. The wine list was interesting. It was good enough that we agreed to go back and try again.
Nice place, good food. It had some noise because a wedding was happening. Recomendd
The place was clean and the tables were well set up (we requested inside table), the food was good, not excellent, as we expected. The service was poor, extremely slow. At the end, we requested a dessert menu and when finally our waitress came she was surprised no one had brought us the menu yet.
For these reasons, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful surroundings, fantastic food and wine, great service! It was the perfect place for a special dinner.
Excellence in all respects. Incredible attention.
Old world enchanting hotel, & food quality amazing, always a good memory & long to return back for enjoyable meal,
Por service, late on bringing the food, not worth the trip
I made a reservation at Fontana, expecting it to be a fancy restaurant, where people dressed up. Since it is at the Biltmore Hotel, I thought the ambiance at the restaurant would match the luxury and beauty of this grand hotel. However, when we arrived, there were people dressed in everyday clothing, shorts and some even in sandals. The area where we were sat was very empty and it felt like we were in the middle of a hallway. There were no decorations, nothing pretty to look at, no music playing in the background. I was looking forward to a fine dining experience, but was pretty unimpressed by the feel of this restaurant. I expected it to be a little pricey, but that’s what usually goes with fine dining. However, this was not what I expected, and it’s unfortunate. The food was decent, but also not worth what you pay for in the end. I hope that whoever goes, doesn’t expect a formal, fine dining experience, because this won’t be it.
Excellent - as alwsys
The hotel is really great but we were disappointed by this restaurant. The meals were tasteless and basically cooked.
We tried Cascade and 19th hole restaurant that are also located in the Biltmore and both were much better than this one that was supposed to be fine dining.
Wife’s birthday on Christmas.
The service was very slow. The waiter spilled oily food on my purse and it left a oily ring on the leather. Will not be coming back. Really disappointed.
The food was good, the service not so good. They brought the food before the wine, and then they brought the wrong wine. We ordered the steak medium raw and they over cooked it. They didn’t bring us bread, we had to ask for it.
We chose Fontana Restaurant at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL to spend our Christmas Eve dinner with the family. The food was superb, however the service was not good at all.
They first put us in area that didn’t merit the Biltmore Hotel, we requested to be changed, which they did after a half hour wait.
The service in general was not very good. Many of the items in the pre-fixed menu were no longer available, we had to choose whatever they had left. Our wine selection from their menu not available either, we had to go with a different wine.
The general experience was not what we expected, especially for what they were charging per person.
You expect high standards from a reputable place, maybe is not a good option to go to a restaurant for these type of dinners during the high holidays.
Everything was lovely, only the lack of staff, we noticed there were not too many servers, so we had to wait too long for the desserts and decided just to take it to go, since our 3 yr old was getting restless!
But, we love love La Fontana restaurant and we will be back!
Great experience. I like to go there for breakfast. The buffet is great and quick
Excellent food and service. Good value and even honored the table I requested!
The service and the ambiance were good. Unfortunately my wife’s main course was not. A pasta dish on the specials of the day was very dry and short on seafood. She returned it and decided not to replace it with a different dish since we’ve being already at the restaurant for a while. On the other hand the drinks, the appetizers, my main course and the desserts were pretty good. Not a 100% positive experience, but it is a good restaurant.
I eat here most Friday nights. Close to my home, not noisy, good food, interesting specials and usually good service. This night service was very efficient as most diners were needing to be finished before Gables Stage.
Not for those looking for a bill under 100 for two.
