I love Fonda. We dine here every other Sunday and keep coming back. The food is really delicious and we always have a great time. All the wait staff are so accommodating and kind. Enjoy!

Wonderful bar offerings, good wine list, intimate atmosphere, noise level perfect for private conversation. We will be back, who knows when, since we live out of state, but it's on our list of favorite destinations!

As always, we enjoyed it. We were promptly seated and we were greated by Daniel the bartender. He made us some exceptional cocktails (margaritas & fondas). We then ordered our usual flautas, tacquitos, and skirt steak. It was spot on. Keep up the fantastic job!

We shared 5 dishes that were all very good. The service was overall very friendly, but a bit slow. The dessert (we asked for a recommendation) was subpar (the first dessert I’ve ever ordered here). Stick with the savory dishes.

Have eaten here quite often. The perfect restaurant for any size meal you’re in the mood for, plus good drinks and warm atmosphere.

I felt sorry for the waitresses, the regulars were so rude, either hitting on them or being overly demanding. Weird culture in this bar. I go about once a year but am put off by the customers snd the sport bar vibe.

The food here is always delicious. It's fun to share with friends, and it's not too noisy to have a normal conversation.

Food and drinks are superb. Unfortunately recent changes resulted in problems with reliable Reservations for large groups (like ours)

Very cold inside and the Happy Hour food was only warm when served. It took more than 30 minutes to get our first tapas and we were there at 5 pm. It’s been better in all respects when I’ve been there before.

This has been one of our favorite places to eat in the Bay Area for years. Delicious and inventive food, great cocktails, wonderful ambiance.

The food and drinks are great - happy hour is a nice deal (and runs both early and late). Most importantly, you can actually have a discussion because of the moderate noise level.

Our friends from Hayward joined us for a festive time at Fonda. We had the best waiter who not only had a great laugh and sense of humor, but also was attentive and intuitive. Just as we were about to call out for more chips for the remaining guacamole, chips appeared before us like magic. Tuesday is Taco Night and we devoured fish, duck, lamb, and cauliflower tacos with gusto. More food, more margaritas, then a couple of Molten Lava flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Whew! What a fabulous night.

The dishes change once in a while and that is good. We like the halibut. And we appreciate how the preparation changes. To keep it interesting. The salads are great. We love it.

Super delicious! We always love coming here. I think I got a wee bit of sticker shock at the chips and guac for 9.75 but these are Berkeley prices so it’s certainly not a huge surprise.

Delicious food and drinks, great service! Well-priced for tapas - the portions were actually pretty big unlike some tapas places where you pay $15 for a three calamari. I’ll definitely be back!

It was my husband’s 67th birthday and I took him out to dine there since we both like tapas... this was his 2nd time there and we always enjoy and love the foods!

I went twice in one week and I'm looking forward to going back again as soon as possible! It really is THAT good.

Great! Good drinks and decent wine. Food is always good. Dessert a little heavy. Great neighborhood restaurant.

Would like to see a larger wine list. Bring back the scallops!

Fish tacos lacking flavor. Need acid and needed more flavor. Same for the shrimp which were just hot and not flavorful. Shrimp itself not fresh and flavorful, might have been previously frozen. Need garlic, a little sweet and acid. Flautas were crispy and above average. Definitely the best dish. Sad to see Fonda moving away from classic tapas and into Mexican cuisine. There is little tapas around and none on Solano Ave and tons of Mexican so it's confusing as to why they would go in this direction. Food has gone down hill since the earlier days of Fonda. The aptmosphere is still lively and service is fine, just need some help with food if they want our patronage again.

Extremely accomodating to this returning customer. Given a little patience, I got my preferred table. Thoughtful wait staff. Great place to relax and dine with friends!

Fonda is a great place to eat a leisurely meal with delicious food and great service. The chefs create unique and flavorful dishes and the servers pace their delivery of the small plates for maximum enjoyment.

Delicious bites, lively atmosphere, fast friendly service

Food was Good, higher-end but not 'earth-shattering'. Service Was 'meh', especially after we'd eaten - it took forever to try and 'flag the young waitress down' to try and pay her. I don't think we'll come back. The one great thing I can say is that the Brussels Sprouts were indeed sauteed, they were the memorable 'high-point'

I love the food and the margaritas at Fondas. It's all done with fresh ingredients and heart!

Nothing to complain about...except for the noise in the beginning. Food (mainly seafood) was very good, drink interesting, dessert fine.
