Great early lunch - had ahi poke bowl, great value and pretty healthy!!
Ok for business lunch. Casual / service was good.
The food was great!!
Wait 1.5 hours for food to come. Slow server. Very salty food.
It was busy and they forgot our 2nd round of drinks food was good service wasn’t what I expected for the price of the meals
I will give them a second chance as it was a busy day and they seemed very understaffed
Good food at reasonable price. Service was ok. Nice ambiance.
Our first visit to the Flying Fish for a Valentines Day dinner for my wife an I. We had a 5:45 PM reservation and glad we gave ourselves some extra time to find a parking spot. We arrived on time and were greeted and ushered to out table. The Host was friendly and we were greeted by wait staff promptly. We ordered a few cocktails and decided to get appetizers. We decided upon Drunken Mussels and Calamari. Our drinks and appetizers were turned quickly. The drinks were good and we started into the appetizers. The food was appealing, portions were adequate. The Drunken Mussels were in a white wine sauce but most of the mussels were dry and shrunken, not drunken. The Calamari was really overcooked and pretty tough. On to the starters...I had clam chowder and my wife a classic Cesar Salad, both were very good. For our entrée...we both ordered King Salmon with fingerling potatoes and Asparagus. The Salmon was cooked perfectly to our expectations. Great flavor with a light sauce and nice portion size, nice presentation as well. The prices were not bad and although our appetizers were less than average we'd come back again.
The ambience was somewhat compromised by very loud patrons in the lounge next to us. We were seated so that it was impossible not to be distracted by the continuously running televisions. The portions were pretty skimpy - there was as much salmon in another restaurant’s bisque as there was on the “large plate” course at Flying Fish.
Our waiters were gracious, and the valentine rose was a nice touch.
The service was so slowwwwww. Not sure if our waiter was the only waiter but, there were only 6 or,so,tables filled. Not sure what is going on with this restaurant as it,usually bustling. Food was good but we had to ask multie times for requests and wait. Had coffee with a friend, the next day and she said last time she was there it was awful. Too bad and will not be,going back, especially with out,of town, guests!
Absolutely loved the ambience of the restaurant, our server was great and the salmon was amazing!!! Definitely have this place on our list when we come back into town
The food quantity is very less and we need two entree per person.
The food this time was even better than last time I had visited. Ambience is good.
The last experience with guests was poor when we had to wait for the food to arrive by at least 40min. So this time a side note while booking requesting for quick service really helped.

Great location for dinner before any events in South Lake Union. Excellent presentation and flavor
Wasn't quite as wonderful as I'd remembered it being, but we had a great time and enjoyed the meal.
Food was great. Service was amazing.
Salt and Pepper Crab two days in a row! I was in heaven.
We try to eat at Flying Fish whenever we go to Seattle. Our favorite dish - Salt and Pepper Crab. It was so good that we returned the following day for lunch so that we could indulge again. I could eat it every day! Absolutely outstanding.
We came in on a quiet Sunday evening with my girlfriends for my birthday. The only server/bartender was attentive, respectful, courteous and he even put up with our 10 minute photo op (ya know...us girls gotta take the perfect picture!).
We had the poke, calamari to share. Both appetizers were delicious. They poke was perfectly seasoned and served alongside housemade deep fried chips. The green sauce that came with the calamari was a nice touch, different from a normal cocktail or aioli sauce some restaurants use. I ordered the black cod, and while it was good, it was a little salty for my taste. The cod came on a bed of sweet potato mash and perfectly al dente green beans.
I have an enjoyable evening and would definitely come back.
We had an early dinner so it was not yet crowded. Salt and pepper crab was amazing! Great cocktails and wine with very congenial and efficient service made this a wonderful meal!
One of our favorites. The food is always excellent and it is always quiet and pleasant.
VERY expensive for the quality of food and the overall ambiance. The place was big, cold and empty with no music playing. Menu prices were ~$40 a plate w/ small servings. Not surprised that this place is empty when the other places around it are slammed.
OK business lunch. Enjoyed the Steelhead, fish can be delicate to cook. Just a bit dry, but overall, food was decent. I will go again, and can recommend.
We had the crab and appetizer calamari and the food was superb. Highly recommended this restaurant.
Worse experience !! The place has gown done to the gutter with such high prices for 'fresh' local seafood. Was entertaining a guest for Max Foundation (cancer) who wanted to eat fish. The whole evening food wise was a disaster. An extremely embarrassing situation.
Fries- soggy and limp
Lemongrass shrimp skewer- unseasoned and semi-raw
Black cod- unflavored with a soggy tostada
Chicken- overcooked and burnt.
4 of the five orders of fries were cold. There are hold in the wall and the outlet switch plate was broken. The waiter tried very hard but repeatedly the food was cold or wrong. I will not return.
Quality has gone downhill in the last 5 years. We were very disappointed.
Just missed the early evening 'happy hour' and too early for the next' happy hour' - from 8.30pm. So the menu was more restricted than what we'd seen on the web. And the prices were high although the food was reasonably good. Restaurant thinned out after the happy hour customers left so hardly anyone was there. Service was poor. I get a three course menu in my favourite Michelin starred restaurant in France for the price of one course there.
A great place to grab lunch in bustling South Lake Union. One of the few places that allows reservations and is quiet enough to hear yourself think AND hear the person you're having lunch with. Service is attentive and food is delish. I had the fish and chips which were very airy and light and didn't leave me feeling like I needed a nap when I returned to the office.
Fish is consistently good here. We always enjoy our dining here.
Food was yummy!! We had chowder, calamari, clams, oysters, ahi poke and ceasar salad. It was all delicious.
Not as good as I recall as when they were in Belltown.
Surprised by the Great fried chicken at a fish restaurant! Fish was also good!
Food and venue was good. But because of a few waiter/waitress, it took long time till we can order.
Normally great, but not this time. Table was not ready and server was not attentive.
Don’t know what to say - it’s a seafood restaurant that when I showed up at 6:30pm on a not busy Saturday for them they said they were out of mussels and clams and then when I ordered the fish tacos they were out of tortillas. The food was okay, but I should have walked out when my gut told me to in the beginning.
All meals sucked. Used to love this restaurant. Not sure what happened.
Really good tasting food with healthy options. Portion sizes were a bit on the small size (especially the appetizers) so don't come too hungry. Great service.
They were out of half the menu
Six of us had an early dinner on a recent Thursday, so it was quieter than normal, which we liked. Although I expect that high ceiling would dissipate sound well during peak times. Every dish was fabulous. The highlight was a large, fried Rockfish. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. Our server was knowledgeable and responsive. Although the total cost was expensive, it was worth it.
