We came in on a quiet Sunday evening with my girlfriends for my birthday. The only server/bartender was attentive, respectful, courteous and he even put up with our 10 minute photo op (ya know...us girls gotta take the perfect picture!).
We had the poke, calamari to share. Both appetizers were delicious. They poke was perfectly seasoned and served alongside housemade deep fried chips. The green sauce that came with the calamari was a nice touch, different from a normal cocktail or aioli sauce some restaurants use. I ordered the black cod, and while it was good, it was a little salty for my taste. The cod came on a bed of sweet potato mash and perfectly al dente green beans.
I have an enjoyable evening and would definitely come back.
We had an early dinner so it was not yet crowded. Salt and pepper crab was amazing! Great cocktails and wine with very congenial and efficient service made this a wonderful meal!
One of our favorites. The food is always excellent and it is always quiet and pleasant.
VERY expensive for the quality of food and the overall ambiance. The place was big, cold and empty with no music playing. Menu prices were ~$40 a plate w/ small servings. Not surprised that this place is empty when the other places around it are slammed.
OK business lunch. Enjoyed the Steelhead, fish can be delicate to cook. Just a bit dry, but overall, food was decent. I will go again, and can recommend.
We had the crab and appetizer calamari and the food was superb. Highly recommended this restaurant.
Worse experience !! The place has gown done to the gutter with such high prices for 'fresh' local seafood. Was entertaining a guest for Max Foundation (cancer) who wanted to eat fish. The whole evening food wise was a disaster. An extremely embarrassing situation.
Fries- soggy and limp
Lemongrass shrimp skewer- unseasoned and semi-raw
Black cod- unflavored with a soggy tostada
Chicken- overcooked and burnt.
4 of the five orders of fries were cold. There are hold in the wall and the outlet switch plate was broken. The waiter tried very hard but repeatedly the food was cold or wrong. I will not return.
Quality has gone downhill in the last 5 years. We were very disappointed.
Just missed the early evening 'happy hour' and too early for the next' happy hour' - from 8.30pm. So the menu was more restricted than what we'd seen on the web. And the prices were high although the food was reasonably good. Restaurant thinned out after the happy hour customers left so hardly anyone was there. Service was poor. I get a three course menu in my favourite Michelin starred restaurant in France for the price of one course there.
A great place to grab lunch in bustling South Lake Union. One of the few places that allows reservations and is quiet enough to hear yourself think AND hear the person you're having lunch with. Service is attentive and food is delish. I had the fish and chips which were very airy and light and didn't leave me feeling like I needed a nap when I returned to the office.
Fish is consistently good here. We always enjoy our dining here.
Food was yummy!! We had chowder, calamari, clams, oysters, ahi poke and ceasar salad. It was all delicious.
Not as good as I recall as when they were in Belltown.
Surprised by the Great fried chicken at a fish restaurant! Fish was also good!
Food and venue was good. But because of a few waiter/waitress, it took long time till we can order.
Normally great, but not this time. Table was not ready and server was not attentive.
Don’t know what to say - it’s a seafood restaurant that when I showed up at 6:30pm on a not busy Saturday for them they said they were out of mussels and clams and then when I ordered the fish tacos they were out of tortillas. The food was okay, but I should have walked out when my gut told me to in the beginning.
All meals sucked. Used to love this restaurant. Not sure what happened.
Really good tasting food with healthy options. Portion sizes were a bit on the small size (especially the appetizers) so don't come too hungry. Great service.
They were out of half the menu
Six of us had an early dinner on a recent Thursday, so it was quieter than normal, which we liked. Although I expect that high ceiling would dissipate sound well during peak times. Every dish was fabulous. The highlight was a large, fried Rockfish. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. Our server was knowledgeable and responsive. Although the total cost was expensive, it was worth it.
Great place for Happy Hour oysters. Our server was excellent. Engaging and efficient.
The experience started out well with a decent drink selection. The salad and raw oysters were excellent, but unfortunately that’s where it ended. The market priced Dungeness crab was a decent sized portion, but was well over cooked in a very powerful black pepper oily seasoning. The seasoning itself was really overpowering for such a delicate flavor like the crab, but what killed the dish was the overcooking. The crab was completely shriveled up and dry. As our server/bartender did the obligatory pass by after the food was served, we told him that the crab was way over cooked. His reply was “oh. Ok”. That was it. And that pretty much summed up our experience. This restaurant won’t last much longer in a city with so many other good ones.
Food was not good as used to be; many items on the menu were out of order. Service was slow. Do not advertise if you don't have food to serve. It was dark in there. It is more like a bar instead of restaurant.
We each had different fish entrees. Fish was properly cooked. Vegetables, asparagus, for example, were overcooked. The miso sauce was a bit too salty. Yet fish portions were fine. Atmosphere was bright and open. Service and suggestions were great.
The restaurant smelled of fried food. The actual food we ate did not taste good - not one person liked it or finished. It was bad all around.
Fish was over cooked! Sauces were great. Expensive meal to have halibut over cooked. Didn’t send bk - didn’t want to wait for another meal to cook ... it used to be a great place to get fish. Menu is cut bk quite a bit.
Come for happy hour, otherwise too expensive for what you get.
Food was good but the service was slow. Nice place to sit.
Solid food, delivered quickly. The lunch was enjoyed.
I hadn't been back in over 10 years, and I was still as impressed by the food and service then as I am today.
This place is super underrated. We were visiting for the weekend and didn’t get a reservation for our last night. Craving seafood we stumbled upon this place! The food was superb, so fresh and perfectly cooked. Get the salmon and the calamari! Honestly I’m shocked it was nearly empty in here during dinner on a long weekend. We thought our meal here was better than our meal at Infatuations top rated restaurant. Go here!
Service was so slow. It was Valentine's Day but it wasn't that crowded. Our dishes took forever to come out and we decided we were in Europe where it's the norm to wait 30 or more minutes between dishes. The food was good but not great.
Our server Michael was very nice. The food was excellent, we had the Valentine Special with a bottle of Pol Roger Champagne. Would recommend this place to a friend.
Food was excellent. Service was very slow. Not good as this was an important business luncheon.
The ambience needs a refresher here and I think that’s rooted in the heavy- 80’s looking bar. We need to leave colored lighting features to outdoor fixtures such as Great Wheel or TMobile Park.
I had the Sterlhead Salmon which was delicious and perfectly prepared however the garden salad it was served over had waaaay too much dressing that was loaded with sugar. I spent my carb count for the day on salad:( If I owned this restaurant, I would redesign the bar and creat a keyo-focused lunch menu-
While I would recommend this place to a friend, I also think that not all meals there are equal. The salmon dish was really good the two times we went but the fettuccini wasnt that great, kind of bland, and the rockfish was also not our favorite. The bread pudding at our last visit was totally different than the first visit. Be prepared to spend about 50.00 a person or more!
I had the fish tacos and a day later I’m still thinking about how great they were. I’ll definitely be back!
The selection has gone downhill and the prices way too high. $42 for a bowl of gumbo?
Our dinner gumbo we only use fresh Dungeness crab with 1 to 1.5 pounds full size crab when the market price is usually around $33 per pound. We understand some of our prices may seem high, but our happy hour offers more affordable prices and extensive selections to choose from. We value every guest's opinion and appreciate any feedback. We hope we have another chance to take care you soon!
