Fly Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Poor service, my three friends were completely done with your dinner before my dinner came out and we had asked numerous times. They have a very small kitchen and appears they make like one meal at a time. They weren't overly busy so this should not of happened. Also portions are extremely small top of sized which is fine but the prices were more for larger portions. There's too many great places in Tampa to go to now I would not recommend this for food or for drinks as my husband's cocktail was in the size of a juice glass.
My daughter and I happen to be in Tampa for New Year’s Eve. Lyft driver recommended we go here. It’s was ok. Menu not very big but the tuna appetizer was good. Also got the fries... too much for two people. The hanger steak was good but very small portion. Drinks were good. Service was great til they got busy and then I felt like we were forgotten!! Music was wayyy too loud!! Hard to have any kind of conversation!! Didn’t stay to ring in New Years!
Fly Bar is one of my favorite spots and it never disappoints! I have dined there often for dinner with friends or before shows at the Straz Center. You can’t beat the $5 sangria and half price bar fare—those sliders and the truffle Mac & cheese...so delicious. Actually, we’ve never had a bad dish! Definitely will return!
Fly Bar has flown the coop. No longer a trendy yummy gem with small plates of intense flavor; now a bar with a few bites of non-memorable food. Lots of food, lots of salt, not much else. Very limited menu of food; mostly drinks.
Probably ok if you want to drink a lot and mop it up; but not for much else.
Server brought food and later on brought serving utensils.
Menu is limited, food quality is good and service is excellent. We dined on the sidewalk on a Saturday night and enjoyed the evening. Wines are reasonable and they have several specialty cocktails. The upstairs, out door bar has entertainment on the weekend and attracts an average 25-35 clientele.
We went to Tampa to view the "Art of the brick" art show. Had reservations for 6pm but we were done early so we tried to get to fly bar early. We were pleasantly surprised that we could get in . Food was great share plates for the four of us. Try the Kimchi Brussel sprouts OMG. The only difficulty was parking before 6 pm, but that's the big city. Our waiter Mikey was helpful and great. We will go back ( after 6 pm). LOL
Go for drinks and rooftop. Drinks, indoor bar and the rooftop are woodsy, have that "good kind of Hipster vibe" but also comfortable for suit and tie crowd, lots of after work happy hour goers and local college students from UT. Happy Hour drinks and food are a great value. However, dinner was..... smokey. All of our food had a deep cedar-like taste and was not appealing (Mac 'n cheese and broccoli especially). Salmon was amazing though and I'd order it again if I had to stay for a meal.
Great atmosphere. Went with my adult daughter who loves a creative cocktail menu. She really enjoyed her drink. I had a wonderful glass of wine. The food was delicious. Can't think of anything that was not fully enjoyable! Can't wait to go back - well actually we did go back two nights later!
