Very nice and enjoyable dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful— some of the best food we’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and try one of the platters that has mashed potatoes (best mashed potatoes ever).
The waiter was friendly and personable. Our water was constantly filled and we had a lovely time. The prices are somewhat high but are very well worth it. It was not too loud and the place was beautiful. Definitely recommend this to any couples or families celebrating special occasions!
Had a very enjoyable evening. Had to leave early due to unforseen circumstances, but enjoyed it while we were there. It took a while to be attended to initially, but after that everything came out promptly.
2 year anniversary
The ambiance is wonderful, the staff was very attentive and accommodating, the meal took way longer than we had expected but it was nice for a relaxing quiet dinner. We would defiantly go again.
We stayed the Old Stone Inn and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in their Flour Mill restaurant. Breakfast was good but service a bit on the slower side which we enjoyed, so just don't be in a hurry. We had a $10.00 coupon and that was helpful as the prices are a little on the higher side. We also had dinner there and again had a $20.00 coupon. Everyone enjoyed their meal but my husband said his steak was very grizzly. He didn't return it but he should have because they were very accommodating in everyway. The service from everyone, Matt and Michael and our breakfast waiter was terrific!! We didn't get his name unfortunately, he was back in the evening as well and came to talk to us about our day, nice touch. We will go back for sure.
My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant then the bar for our anniversary. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff took great care of us!!
Food and service was excellent. Beautiful building. Recommend make a reservation by the fireplace for extra romance!!
Flour mill has great food but as per the Valentine's day menu offered no food. I had to grab a meal after the dinner as the food presented was painfully limited. I was very unimpressed and would have rathered gone to another restaurant and got great food and an actual meal with the money I spent.
My friend and I loved everything about this wonderful restaurant ! The service was excellent, our dinner was perfect and the ambience lovely! We highly recommend this superb restaurant for any occasion!
Went for Valentines day dinner. The restaurant is really very romantic, old stone walls and real wood burning fireplace. Dinner was excellent and beautifully presented, cooked as ordered.
The service was attentive without being obtrusive.
Being Valentines day it was not cheap but a reasonable value. Finally, the dinner we ordered was a 3 course price fixed selection with no substitutions However, they allowed my wife to substitute a different dessert at no charge.
Would definitely return again and highly recommend this restaurant.
We have placed pictures on our twitter Account and thanking the staff for a great experience.
The service was immpeccable. The four course dinner we had was salad, mussels, steak, and dessert pecan butter tarts. The steak was very very fatty:(. Everything else was great. Dissapointed though the main dish was not good. Beautiful restaurant and great service. Just order something other than steak...
The food and ambiance was good, but service was excruciatingly slow. An 18% auto-gratuity on the prix-fixe menu enabled an inattentive and nonchalant attitude towards customers.
We arrived for our 7:15 pm dinner reservation and was seated about 5 minutes later. No servers came to our table to greet us or bring us water for another 10 minutes. Our server was mostly absent for the remainder of our meal, which took 2.5 hours.
Our first course arrived promptly - the clam chowder was delicious. After the first course, there was a 20 minute wait before our second course arrived - the mussels and poutine were both quite good. Having finished our second course, we waited another 40 minutes for our mains - the steak was very good, but the chicken was overcooked.
When I tried to order a cappuccino with my dessert, our server replied flatly “We have nothing like that.” and did not offer any alternatives or suggestions. After dropping off the bill, our server again disappeared for 20 minutes. It wasn’t until we brought the bill up to the server station that a different server hurriedly brought out a credit card machine to help us settle the bill.
The food was memorable, but not worth 2.5 hours of my time. The 18% auto-gratuity was a lot more than I would have paid for this kind of service.
We had a reservation for 7:15 pm on a Saturday night. Took us 15 minutes to wait in a line for the host to seat 2 parties a head of us. When it was our turn to check in we were told the table of guests before us wasn't finished yet so we would need to wait or we could be seated in another section. We chose another section. That section we felt like we were forgotten by the restaurant staff. We were only given a wine menu and when we asked for beer it took our server a long time to come back with the beer selections. Then another 15 minutes to actually bring our drinks. We then ordered an appetizer and our main courses. The appitizer arrived very quickly. We quickly ate through it and we then brought bread.. 1 piece for each person. On the menu it said there was a $2 charge per person to receive more bread. So we didn't bother asking for more. We then waited over 1 hour to have our meals. The meals still hadn't come nor did our server come back to check on us. I had to get up and find a any server to ask for our server to come and get us another round of drinks. When she came we inquired as to where our meals were and she said they were being plated. She brought our drinks and let us know that the drinks were on the house. Our meal still took another 20 minutes after that to arrive. We did not get our meals until 2 hours after our reservation time. Thankfully after such a long wait the meals were good. We were then brought 2 complementary desserts.
We appreciated the complementary desserts but after spending over 2 hours in the restaurant we were ready to just leave. We only chose to eat at the restaurant as it was part of the hotel. We liked the hotel and will be back but will choose to eat elsewhere on our next visit. The very poor service , long wait and very high prices left us with a very bad impression.
One of the best meals I have had in recent months, from the level of service through the quality and flavor of the food.
We were in Niagara Falls for a quick romantic getaway, used a Groupon for the hotel. Included with the deal was a $20 voucher for dinner. We looked at the menu and photos online and made a reservation. We are so happy we did. The restaurant is lovely, with rustic stone walls, soaring beamed ceilings and plush furnishings. The menu is spare but carefully selected. Our tartare was perfectly prepared and our steaks were expertly grilled to a perfect doneness. The side vegetables were delicious. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of local wine from the thoughtful wine list. I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to return myself
Amazing diner with outstanding service! The bar area had some very drunk super loud patrons that did kill the ambience. Management should have had a better handle on that for us dining
Excellent atmosphere, great service! Wish the portions were bigger though.
The ambiance is very warm and welcoming. The touches of the original mill are still visible and lend to the overall experience. The meal was expertly prepared and the steak cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and courteous. This is a great spot for date night!
The meal was good and the
portions were generous but we all felt it the food was not hot enough.....
The service was excellent .....
Beautiful restaurant but overpriced at $80 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 young children. Sausages in full breakfast were actually served cold. Kids waffles were stodgy and heavy. Best thing was coffee but charged full price of $4 for each cafetiere despite having paid $8 surcharge in hotel to cover morning coffee costs for coffee that was rarely available when we wanted it. I understand the restaurant coffee was higher quality than the lobby coffee but would expect to have at least 1 refill included since 1 cafetiere barely holds 1 decent cup size.
The food is very good. Quiet and nice environment. Service is a little slow and the tips are imposed.
The whole experience was what we were looking for. It was New Years Eve and we wanted a nice relaxed dinning experience with no rush, that what we got. All the wait staff was dressed in period costume which was fun. The food was very good especially the frozen lime sherbert in champayne, quit tasty. The only surprise was that we did not know that it was a fixed menu, even on line it said nothing. It did not spoil the evening but was a bit of a shock. All in all a good time.
Wonderful atmosphere. Amazing food. Matt was an amazing server - went above and beyond!!!!
A delight in dining experience and ambiance . A wonderful way to celebrate New Year's Eve. Old charm with an incredible menu a new taste extravaganza! Thank you for a delightful and memorable evening. Cheers to the servers they were all so helpful and insightful.
No really good dinner experience here! The service was slow and the steak need to recook. The have added the tips on the menu. Maybe that’s the reason the service was awful.
In Niagara our hotel didn't have a restaurant, so I Googled 'breakfast' and 'parking lot'. This came up! It was fabulous!! A cute quite little place with 'scratch' cooking!!! Well appointed. Great friendly staff!!!
Our first visit was in 2015 for Christmas Dinner and we had a great time, good food and good service all in the main dining room, so we decided to go again this year again for Christmas dinner. What a disappointment, first of all despite having book our table in November, we were seated in the annex and not the main dining room, absolutely no atmosphere, not decorated, could have been any day of the year. The food choices were OK but nothing special and what made it worse was that everything was luke warm at the best. Soup was cold, turkey was tasteless, vegetables were cold and the sticky toffee pudding tasted like a muffin. Servers were all very young and did not know the menu and had to refer to the kitchen, which made it impossible to find anything out. I asked if the pork belly had crackling, the answer was "it is well cooked".
Ambiance and service was very good but the food was just average, nothing special. Might return again in the summer.
The fireplace is the best part of this resto! We sat right in front and thoroughly enjoyed our server Andrea. The rest of the staff were lovely too.
Enjoyed Christmas day brunch. The food was delicious & plentiful Surroundings are lovely. We will be coming back.
We met here for a quiet Christmaa Eve breakfast. the wait staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgable about the menu. The location is close to the Falls and unbelievably cozy. Food was delicious and locally sourced. Will be returning!
We had a perfect evening, the ambience, the service and the presentation of the food was impeccable. We never once felt rushed and at the same time we never once found ourselves waiting for the next course. Timing was amazing. We have already recommended to relatives who will be going to Niagara Falls in about a month and we will be returning ourselves next time we are in the area.
I had dinner here the night before and it was AMAZING! In the morning, it wasn't so great. The food wasn't as described and it took a really long time to get it which almost made us late for our tour. The waitress gave us one cup of syrup to share and when I asked for more (there were 3 of us ) she made a big deal about it and said that should have been enough and that they would have to charge us more.
When I questioned the way my pancakes were made (it was missing the chocolate ingredient) she said that it was just how they came and wouldn't look into whether or not it was an error in the kitchen (which simply would have been rectified as she brought out the chocolate so I could add it to the pancakes).
At the end of the transaction she almost walked away with my credit card in tow.
I was a bit disappointed with the night and day experience (between the amazing dinner the night before and the morning breakfast). I'd still go back but for how vacant the restaurant was, the service definitely could have been better. The food was great too but for the missing ingredient in the pancakes.
Fabulous ! We were very pleased with our dinner, & loved the four course selection.
The service was phenom! Our waiter was really great. He made us feel welcome. We had the chicken dinner, grilled cheese (yes they have a kids menu), salad and garlic mashed.
The chicken dinner was cooked to perfection. Presentation was second to none. Being so close to Christmas, the venue was decorated beautifully and made the kids feel the Christmas Magic. The place was quiet. This place doesn't skip out on the details either. It has a log cabin feel with luxury accents and the most comfortable seating we've ever had in a restaurant. It's priced really well especially for Niagara Falls but the food and service is a 5 Star Restaurant Quality. We will be back!
Food was delicious, waiter (Cody) put forth a great effort but was lacking, got people’s orders mixed up, service slow and forgot to bring bread even after we inquired, he was friendly though. Best part of this place is the ambiance, love that we were able to have a leisurely meal with friends without being rushed along.
Dinner was amazing and all staff members from the front desk to the servers were so accommodating and super friendly. We will definitely be back.
Food was good though overpriced. And our waiter was not the most attentive. For the amount of $$ being spent we expected more
