Flour Mill Restaurant
Kid Friendly - New Menu
A memorable dining experience! In our top 10 for sure!! Excellent food, service and ambiance.
A lovely/charming hotel as well as restaurant - will definitely stay there on our next trip to Niagara Falls!!
The food was outstanding and the cozy quiet atmosphere was perfect!
Great service, amazing food! We were there for brunch - we had the avocado toast, bacon tree, and eggs benedict, all of them were next-level good!
This restaurant is cozy with excellent food and excellent service. I'll definitely be back any time I'm visiting Niagara Falls and will recommend it to others!
We booked based on the reviews and were sadly disappointed.
Ambiance was wonderful and festive. Sadly the service and the food did not match the surroundings.
We were seated at 7:15 and by 8:45 we still did not have our dinner. The appetizer soup was delicious. We waited a good 30 min for our second course and one was missing. We dared not to let the server place the order in for fear it would be yet another 30 min.
Both second courses were bland and poorly presented.
The Turkey was a huge disappointment we have had better festive specials at Swiss Chalet.
We stayed at the hotel for the night and the environment was clean and festive and the staff were friendly.
This was our second Christmas dinner at restaurant at the Old Stone Inn. Our first experience, 2 years ago, was excellent which is why we decided to return again this year. Unfortunately, this time our dinning experience was disappointing. With regards to food, several in our group ordered the pork, which was overdone and very tough. The butternut squash ravioli (one large ravioli) was served naked on a bed of fennel and broth. It was lacking flavour. The soup, however, was excellent as were all of the desserts that we ate. As for service, I appreciated that staff were working on Christmas so I didn't have to; however, for the cost of the meal ($49 per person) I was expecting a higher level of service. The waitress was super friendly and nice; however, we had to ask for items (e.g., for water, for sharp knives to cut the pork, for more drinks) - our needs were never anticipated. When I first made reservation, I asked about vegetarian options and I was told that there would be an option. Although, no option was on the set menu, the waitress said that the chef would prepare a meal size portion of the butternut squash ravioli, which was listed as an appetizer. Unfortunately, the two vegetarians were given only the appetizer portion (1 ravioli), and it was brought to us early - not with the other main courses. When I questioned the waitress, she had the chef prepare second serving of ravioli. This second plate was larger but it still lacked flavour. Lastly, there were several mistakes on our bill that needed to be corrected. We were over charged for drinks and we were charged for both plates of ravioli although we were told we would only be charged for one.
The service and the food is second to none at the Flour Mill. We returned here for my birthday this past weekend. Everything was exceptional! We also dined for breakfast the next morning. Again, fantastic food and service. Cannot wait to go back!
We stopped here for lunch upon arriving in Niagara and loved every bit of our experience! The food was excellent, service was outstanding and the decor was jaw dropping. It is everything I look for in a perfect restaurant and then some. We can’t wait to return!!!
It was the most amazing food and great service. We had such a relaxing time!
Didn’t disappoint, second visit here and the quality of the food and service are incredibly high. This is certainly a hidden gem and is worth the walk over from the main strip even if your not staying at the hotel.
Very friendly service. Told them it was a special occasion birthday I would have expected a piece of cake or something. Good menu, good choices. Pork chop a little tough. Pork bellies not as I know them, this seemed very raw. Asked for a cappuccino but the waitress wasn't sure what that was or if they had them. She brought me a very weak coffee with some foam on top.
Went for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. It’s located in a hotel, so I was worried it would just be an average breakfast. It was anything but that. I had eggs Benedict with avocado rather than Canadian bacon, and it was delicious. It was on a homemade biscuit, not just a regular english muffin. My husbands breakfast was fruit, cheese, scone, and hard boiled egg, and was also very good. I would definitely go back here for breakfast!
A little pricey but delicious! The location was not in a very nice part of town, but once you stepped inside it was very nice.
The restaurant was beautiful but the service was quite slow. Over all a good experience but don't expect to be quickly in and out of here. Food was tasty!
We celebrated our anniversary at the Old Stone Inn this past Thanksgiving weekend; the special menu was absolutely delish! Such unique options, so appealing to the palate! Great ambiance...very romantic! Superior service too.
Brooklyn had just started not too long ago, but what a wonderful host for our breakfast meal. She was kind, quick, and the food was out of this world. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. We would come back to stay at the hotel because of our experience with the staff. Definitely a place to go.
Was disappointed with my breakfast choice. Was expecting artisanal cheese but looked like white cheddar that was left out with hard edges. Was offered a cinnamon bun to start which was “fresh out of the oven and gooey”. Although it was maybe baked today, it was not gooey and definitely not warm and not worth the $10 price tag. Restaurant was lovely. Staff seemed to be a bit disorganized and witnessed some bickering between them. Would probably try again but was not really satisfied.
Restaurant was not crowded and no large groups were being seated. Took 15 minutes for waitress to first appear and another 15 minutes to bring a glass of wine. Main course was served more than 30 minutes after appetizers were finished. Meals were cold.
We had dinner on Saturday night, 4 of us visiting Niagara for my 50th Bday. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We only had an hour after this to eat as we had a magic show to be at for 8:30pm. When asking if we would have our food in time we were told that would depend on the items ordered. We ordered apps and when we asked for all to come out at once, our server said it would not be possible due to the table being too small. Everything seem to be a problem. We had 15 minutes to eat and could not understand the delay in service as there were only 5 other tables in the restaurant. Felt like everyone was doing us a favor. Overall atmosphere was not inviting, you could hear a pin drop. Will not be back or recommend this restaurant. Advice to owner, hire a friend that your staff don't know and ask them to come and eat at your restaurant and see what they have to say abut the service, staff and food.
Tried dropping in one night while on vacation, and they were closed due to a wedding reception booking the entire place for the entire night. Made a reservation for the next night, and we weren't disappointed. Lovely room; good food, wine, and a tasty Bloody Mary; solicitous staff; all in all, a very nice evening. Glad we tried again.
I took my friend for her birthday dinner and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as it was a great quiet setting, our meals were excellent and the service was outstanding.
I ate at this restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. The ambiance of this restaurant is lovely and the service for both meals was impeccable. The food was very well prepared and presented and tasty. The service staff are excellent.
If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place.... go to Remingtons. The New york York was sirloin and tough. The best thing we had was the mussels. Poor service with very little guests.
Expensive but food was nice. . Wine was good. loved our server, she was helpful and attentive without being pushy. Nice atmosphere but very dark inside. Great for romantic feel but hard to read menu
Our food was cold. Our server was dry and cold as our food. My pancakes were cold, dry, and pasty. The waffles were cold, hard, and burnt.
The sever did take the pancakes off our bill.
There was a sever who was not ours, she was a mature lady, she was friendly , smiled at us, and even came over to chat. She made our experience better.
We had reservations at 8 pm and were almost the only ones in the dining room. Sunday night. Decor was rustic old English. Waitstaff was very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately our beef tenderloin and mashed potatoes were only warm. The scallops appetizer with bacon jam on greens was outstanding. We tried several local wines by the glass and our waitress brought us the bottle to see which was a very nice touch. And the wine was very good.
I was initially concerned due to it taking quite a long time to be seated at a table, however, from that point on we were very impressed. The food was delicious, filling and brought to us promptly after each course. The service was excellent, if a little under staffed, with our waitress being very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list and the food, making spot on suggestions for both.
Overall, this was a great dining experience, with a very relaxed atmosphere, that made for a very enjoyable night.
The service was excellent and the waitress served too. The food was tasty. The ambience was pretty extravagant. I loved the place and the place was romantic. The next time I go here, I will bring my partner. Thumbs up!
Really enjoyed our dinner. The beef tenderloin was outstanding!
Waiting staff is not well trained, the host was very cold mannered and not friendly, food is mediocre and way overpriced even for a touristy area. I don't mind paying higher price, but in return I expect excellent food and service, and neither was to be found here. Corn chowder was bland and didn't even look like a corn chowder. Salmon could've been juicier. Chicken and steak were just OK. Salad and mashed potatoes were good though. Tiramisu was terrible: too much cream on top and I couldn't even taste mascarpone, and too dry inside. We were really looking forward to eating at the Flour Mill based on all good reviews and very high ratings on Open Table, Tripadvisor and Facebook. Needless to say, we were disappointed.
It was a delicious breakfast, and the host as well as our server were wonderful. We are celebrating our honeymoon, and they treated us super well. Food and coffee was delicious. Highly recommend!
The food was absolutely amazing but the host and waiter did not make the experience perfect. We waited 10 minutes before the host acknowledged us. Once seated it took far too long for the waiter to also acknowledge us at the table. The at table service was terrible compared to the table beside us with another waitress. She was visiting that table three times as often as our waiter.
The outside of the restuarant is very unassuming. Its attached to a little Inn that almost looks like an apartment block. But once we were inside the atmosphere felt historic and welcoming. As we walked up to the hostess desk Emma who turned out to be our server as well was warm, and inviting. She seated us and was knowledgable about everything on the menu including the wines and bears. My teenagers liked her and my daughter says her make "was on point". The food was excellent. As a group of 6 we were able to cover a good variety of the menu. We had salmon, tenderloin, NY strip, pork, chicken, pork belly, and the salad. All of it was incredible. It was all cooked beautifully and seasoned well. There was the right amount of sauce on the plate. You could tell that a great deal of thought went into each plate. I would highly recommend to try this place out.
I was on vacation and really enjoyed the experience
Loved the experience! Beautiful rustic setting. Our server Dimitris, (a.k.a. Mike) was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic! Highly recommend the porc loin!
Had an amazing time here ! The service was phenomenal and the food was beyond amazing so tasty and very well prepared. Would love to come back !
Breakfast/brunch was a 30 minute + wait to actually be served.
It's not often I encounter a totally 5 star experience, but this was certainly one. Six college friends were celebrating birthdays. From the friendly bartenders in the lounge to the knowledgeable and warm service provided by our server, we were pampered. Even though there was a wedding going on in the hotel, the food and service quality didn't suffer in the least. Everyone ordered different apps and entrees, and all received RAVE reviews. The food was truly outstanding. Upon hearing of our birthday celebration, we were treated to a large slice of cheesecake with six candles and a song.
After a lackluster dinner at Weinkeller the prior evening, our Flour Mill visit left us with wonderful memories of Niagara Falls dining on our last evening. Thanks to the staff for their attentive and caring service, and to the kitchen for mouth watering meals. Don't miss this place!
The main dining area of the restaurant has a great ambiance and the decor is quirky and nicely done. My husband and I went for dinner on a Friday night and there were only two other tables being served that evening. It was a nice quiet evening for us. The food was great, especially the dessert! The server was nice and was helpful in getting the meal like we wanted it. I would definitely recommend it.
We had the Groupon and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Sebastian was the best server, welcoming and extremely attentive!
