Flour - Italian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Good food - but not fabulous.
Huge difference in portion size. Mine was very big but the person on our table who ordered the salmon looked like it wouldn’t be enough to keep a sparrow alive.
If you want a quiet restaurant don’t go here at it’s busiest times as it was extremely loud; we had to almost shout.
Waiter good but appetizer bread and calamari left on the table during the main course.
We had a good evening!
Food was good but the price is really unreasonable for the portion you get. My mom got chicken cacciatore. It is alkost $30.00 and you get two small dark meat pieces of chicken that is almost all bone, and hardly any vegetables with nothing else. My husband got peppi e caccio gnocci. It was over $20.00 and there is no meat and about 1 cup of gnocci with no sides. My dad got the llamb pasta which was actually a decent size and he siadnit was good. I fot the clam pasta, it was good and I got a decent amount. The calamari we got and the eggplant meatballs for appetizers were the best but again really small portions for the price.
I’ve only been for brunch prior to this and disappointed that I’ve waited so long to have dinner here! My husband and I really enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the big a$$ meatball and the mushroom pizza. Great cocktails as well!! Restaurant is family friendly and saw a lot of families with young children. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a wonderful time during our first visit to Flour- dinner was delicious and even when there was a small mishap with our dinner order, the manager and server were extremely graceful, and provided a lovely replacement order!
We had dinner in the dining room and then moved to the bar for dessert and after dinner drinks- thoroughly enjoyed the environment and experience!
I've been to Flour many times and have yet to be disappointed. I got the Scallops picatta this time and although the ingredients sounded a bit off to me; how could a picatta with capers be good with roasted butternut squash in the mix?? It was phenomenal!!!
The Italian Wedding Soup was awful, watery, salty, and tasteless. The cheese pizza was also salty, and greasy (cheap cheese?). The Chicken Cacciatore was good. Also, parking was inadequate, noise level was way too high, tables were too close together, seats were unpadded wood (uncomfortable - but that trick gets people to leave sooner so new folks can be seated), an the prices were way too high for what you got and endured.
We shared a Caesar salad which was a little bland and dry. I had the potato gnocchi and my friend the ricotta agnolotti. Both were very tasty and the portions were good. Complimentary valet was a nice touch. Complimentary bread basket would have been nicer.
Our server as usual was fantastic. She gets five stars. Likewise the food - when it finally came - was five star, best Italian style in Cleveland. But we’ve been eating at Flour for perhaps eight years. The kitchen has slowed down. Maybe staff is told to stay home unless there are X reservations, but something ain’t what it used to be as far as cooking and plating.
Our dinner reservation was for 615 in which we are promptly seated. Our server greeted us and before we even knew it, was asking us what we would like to order. The overall seemed extremely rushed. We were there for our date night and had no problem just relaxing. Our relaxing seemed to make the server nervous as we were asked several times if we were ready to order. Our check was placed on the table at 6:50 , As she presented the check we were then asked if we wanted dessert. Guess we didn’t! The food was wonderful and our bill was over $100. I feel that price point we should have been allowed to at least have an hour of a relaxing dinner. Most likely will not be going back.
This was not my first time to Flour, although it was my friend’s first time to this establishment. As we sat down, our waiter did not introduce himself, ask if we’ve dined there before, or give us the dinner specials. As I received my dinner, I found a piece of hair in my pasta. I called the waiter back over and his response was “uh-oh”. He did bring back another dish although this dish was not warm. After I received my second dish, I saw the manager and the waiter looking at my table from a distance. The manager and waiter did not approach my table and apologize for this incident. I in fact was charged the full price for my dinner. Unfortunately I used to really enjoy coming to this restaurant and I spoke highly of them to my friend. After this previous visit to Flour, I will never be returning as I’m very turned off by the service, food, and disrespect I received.
Excellent!!! Flour is always excellent! The food is fabulous & the service is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! Packed as always on a Saturday night....this did not deter the level of service one bit! The food is fresh and creative. Perfect date night.
Another great night with friends at Flour! Kathy took good care of us and had excellent wine & food recommendations. Large wine list but very pricey. Wish there were some less expensive options. Fried olives and bread to start. Caesar and local greens followed. Veggie mushroom bolognese pasta, Bianca and sausage pizzas. Everything was delicious!! Loved the pb&j brownie dessert special! We will be back soon.
