Flour - Italian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
One of our favorite local brunch Spots. Had dinner for the first time and it was exactly what we expected from Flour! Delicious! Great service and cool ambience. So excited to learn that’s tuesdays are half off bottles of wine $100 or less!!! My family and I can’t wait to return!
The noise level is almost always problematic, especially if trying to have a business conversation. Our waitress was a very lovely young lady however she seemed to have too many tables. Her service was 'augmented' by others and we found them not very interested in the service aspect. Just one example - When my associate pointed out that she was missing a spoon with which to eat her soup, the person who delivered the soup said (in a seemingly dismissive tone) that our server would bring it. When the next person came to our table we asked again and were told very nicely that he would get us one. Next our server arrived with the spoon apologizing for bringing it after the food.
Another great evening at Flour. Sat in a cozy half booth near bar. Excellent wine, cocktail and beer options. Service was very good, as usual. Restaurant was busy but we were well taken care of and not rushed at all. Food was excellent... octopus, calamari, caesar salad with egg, carrot pasta, skirt steak. We visit every month or two and will definitely be back!
Service was just OK. The tomatoe soup was bad, we told the server and we got no comments about it. We ended up just getting a salad after that. Paul Minillo’s Flour is not even close to the value and quality he produced at THe Baricelli Inn many years ago. An overrated restaurant resting on the name of the Chef.
Our experience at Flour was great start to finish. We went to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday. They had our table ready with a high chair that was needed for my 1 year old. Food was great (especially the pizza), service was excellent and the wine was very good. I would highly recommend and I will be returning in the near future!
Only negative was that we were seated 15 feet from the front door. Being right in front of the door we felt the cold air anytime someone walked in. My seat was in line with servers coming from the kitchen and i ended up with what looked like whipped cream or icing on the back of coat. I would never accept this seating arrangement again.
I made a reservation under my name as I was meeting a friend. The hostess clearly did not pay attention when my friend gave her my name and the hostess sat her at a different table and said we had not arrived - she had seated us only moments before. This was at 5:00 so the hostess was not at all busy. Had my friend not gone to use the ladies room, I would not have seen her. We wasted 30-40 minutes waiting for each other.
Although the food is good, this is the second time I've had a not-so-good experience. Might be time to go elsewhere.
I received a gift card to this restaurant as a gift from a friend. The food & service were good; however, considering the prices I expected it to be a lot better. Honestly, there are better restaurants in the area that cost far less. It wasn't a bad experience by any means, the ambiance was good, but I don't think I'd plunk down that kind of money for what they deliver.
