It did not start well at all; we had an 8:00pm reservation and did not get seated until 8:35pm. I feel that that is completely unacceptable and indicates poor management. The saving grace for this experience was the bartender downstairs and also our server during dinner. As we waited 35 minutes for our table, we were directed to the downstairs bar which was extremely crowded. The bartender was attentive and personable; even bringing our drinks and wine out into the crowded area. Once we arrived to our table, our server was apologetic and determined that the rest of our experience would be positive. She was attentive and provided great insight into the various dishes on the menu. The food was good but the only reason I would go back is if management can get their act together and ensure that diners with reservations don’t have to wait so long to be seated.

Calamari was best we've had in awhile. Not overdue. Entrees were very good. Same for the desserts. A bit on the noisy side for easy coversation.

Valentines Day dinner, great menu for occasion. 4 course meal with desert, variety to choose. Very Romantic, and the service was awesome. The meal was pricey though.

Overall food was pretty good, salami and cheese board was the only major flaw, butternut squash ravioli was excellent and the tortelloni mignon was quite good.

Floriana was recommended to us and we are glad to have taken the time to be there.
I had the squash soup with pumpkin seeds...it was good. The seeds were a bit over cooked but the soup was still good flavor. I also had a homemade ravioli with spinach and mushrooms...very good. My spouse had the lasagna. He LOVED it. We were there on a Wednesday evening and the special was half off all bottles of wine. We like that too.
The service was excellent. Michael was our server. He was very attentive, as was the young woman helping him. I accidently left my CC and Michael called me to let me know. Very nice.

Floriana is without a doubt our favorite Italian restaurant in DC! We try to visit on Wednesday or Sunday when wine is half off, but it's worth it regardless! The tortelloni mignon is one of my favorite pasta dishes of all time, as well as the lobster taglierini, and you can't miss the calamari - it's done perfectly every time.

Such a beautiful and intimate restaurant. Sundays are half price bottle of wine. No restrictions. Food was phenomenonel. Unique dishes you would not find on a typical Italian restaurant menu.

Floriana has been a date night "go-to" for us, going on a few years now. Food is great. Service is usually great, with the occasional hiccups, to be expected anywhere. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They value great customer service in additional to serving excellent Italian cuisine.

The food was very good, specifically the appetizers and bread were excellent. It was a great experience and the only thing that brought the rating down was the very long time between the appetizers and the main course.

Ate at Floriana in November and really enjoyed this neighborhood restaurant. Came again for the truffle oil risotto with shrimp and scallops. Two of us ordered this. We had to send the dish back. It contained no truffle taste, was “flat”,with no taste and not very hot. The waiter was very professional and took the plates back to kitchen. The plates came back tasting as wonderful as the dish is. The waiter was very apologetic and gave us complementary desserts. He told us not to order the chocolate moose: the table next to us sent it back to the kirchen it was so bad. We ordered the pear ginger cloufount: it was the very worse dessert we ever had: gummy flour taste. The carrot cake was not much better: hard and without flavor. How these culinary disasters could be served is beyond our imagination.
I did tell the waiter our disappointment as we left. If this is the quality for this restaurant, it will not survive. Too bad, as November it was wonderful.

The waiter was very helpful with our wine choice and service was good. We came hungry having been touring for hours. The bread and pesto was not at all special, but we looked forward to experiencing the food based on wonderful reviews. The Fried Brussels Sprouts appetizer and wine (at 1/2 price on Sunday) were the highlights. My dining companions also enjoyed the Mushroom Crespelle appetizer. The Caesar Salad, even with our added anchovies was average. Two of us had the duck; the meat was wonderful but served with very bland Gnocchi. The third in our party had a pasta with somewhat more interesting gnocchi. The chocolate mousse was quite good but the tiramisu unremarkable. It was fine for the price, but we would happily have paid more for a more memorable dining experience.

My husband and I are NY natives, new to the area. We've been to our share of Italian restaurants however, this restaurant is easily top 5. Authentic italian homemade pastas and sauces with some of the best staff around. This quaint, lovely restaurant will not disappoint your appetite, or wallet. Great job everyone

We were underwhelmed in general by this establishment. The food just didn't live up to the great reviews we had read. Service was quite good, very attentive. Cocktails were not impressive. Appetizers were okay, nothing exceptional. As for the entree menu, we would have liked more "traditional" pasta choices in addition to the rich, cream laden offerings. One entree dish was not cooked to the specific request of one of our party.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by the owner Jamie, who showed us to our table. He was very inviting and genuinely happy we were there. We sat down in the dining area which was an antique in itself! Elegant and cozy. For dinner, we had the calamari for appetizer, short rib agnolotti and butternut squash ravioli for entree, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Oh. My. Gosh. One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had! Fresh pasta is my weakness... The dishes were flavorful, filling, and beautiful to look at. Compliments to the chef! I would recommend Floriana to everyone! The atmosphere is perfect for a nice date night or just a get together with friends. Thank you for making us feel welcome and for the delicious food!

We loved this restaurant - everything was amazing. I and my husband went there for the restaurant week for dinner, and could choose from almost everything on their main menu (only filet mignon was for an extra charge). We ordered black gnocchi and mushroom crepes as appetizers, the portions were not too big but they were delicious. For the main course we had grilled duck breast and seafood risotto. I personally would have preferred to have seafood minced in the risotto, but still grilled scallops were really good (fresh and big), and I cut them on my own. Duck came with super tasty sweet potato gnocchi - a great combination overall. These portions were generous enough - though we were able to finish them, we could not manage to eat full deserts and brought them home. It's also worth mentioning the parsley pesto served with the welcome bread - so fresh and delicious! We even asked for ingredients to try to duplicate it at home. Finally, service and atmosphere were outstanding: warm and friendly, but still fancy and stylish.
