Quaint restaurant with great ambiance and delicious food. The tortelloni mignon and tiramisu were heavenly. Great for a date or just a wonderful meal.
Revisited this evening after a while away. The food, service, and management were absolutely impeccable! So happy to return to one of the best restaurants in the district!
Too cramped and noisy to really enjoy. The quality of the food was not worth being that uncomfortable.
One of our favorite Italian restaurants in the city
From start to finish excellent food and service
I was there early for my reservation but the host seated me anyway and waited on me until my guests arrived. Food and service was good.
Fabulous experience! Highly recommend!
Not accessible if you have disabilities though.
A busy night, but seating was easy (with a reservation) and the small kitchen performed its usual miracles.
I love Floriana! Old world dining with excellent food and good service
When I first got to our table, I could hear my friend, but, as the restaurant filled, the noise level was deafening. Even though the food was very good and the server and owner were very helpful, I would return only at a time when there would be few other customers. Sorry.
On a cold winter night, stepping in to the ultra warm and cozy environment was perfect.
The service was very very good, Good was wonderful.
We shared a Caesar salad, lobster gnocchi and Bronzino. Each dish was perfectly prepared.
We have dined outside many times, but now we found our winter restaurant as well.
Absolutely amazing! The food was incredible. Great spot. Thanks for the great service. We'll be back again soon!
As usual the dining experience at Floriana was exceptional. Food was mostly excellent, the service exceptional (Marco). And of course Batt the Great manages the whole operation with deftness and calm. This is an excellent restaurant for special or ordinary occasions.
We enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails downstairs in Dito’s bar. Dito is always attentive and he creates a flawless Manhattan.
For our dinner we started with the grilled brussel sprouts and the arancini; both appetizers were delicious. Our entrees were the only disappointment. My husband ordered the Lamb Gnocchi and I ordered the Sunday Gravy. The Lamb Gnocchi arrived, not cold, but not exactly warm either. My Sunday Gravy, which I’ve enjoyed I the past, seemed to have almost no flavor and needed both salt and additional Parmesan to bring it to life.
Overall, we chalked it up to the kitchen simply having an off night, but our entrees were a disappointment from what we have enjoyed on previous visits.
Floriana is my first DC restaurant experience, and they've set the bar extremely high. Jokingly, I requested that they provide a 'Big Cat of some sort, specifically a tiger' in the 'Special Request' option of our reservations, and upon our arrival they placed a stuffed animal on the table. Granted, it was an elephant stuffed animal, but the manager apologized and said it was the closest they could do! They also gave my girlfriend a complimentary box of pink roses. Clearly they care about their customers and their experience. The service was phenomenal, and while it was a little crowded where we were seated, the waiters did an excellent job of giving us plenty of space. Despite the crowd, the noise levels are very low! This definitely did not harm the ambiance or general vibe of the restaurant, as it was very comfortable. The food is very good, and the wait time is very low. Overall, I would highly recommend Floriana to anyone visiting DC looking for a relatively cheaper place where you can still dress up.
The food here is normally excellent, but when I booked the reservation, I didn’t realize it was a prefixed Valentine’s Day tasting menu. The beet risotto was bright pink and it was under cooked, making the texture kind of grainy. The rest of the meal was kind of bland. And then they charged $80 per person. It was a disappointing visit.
The food was delicious, however, the portions were severely underwhelming. What we were served versus what was advertised was completely different . Although the experience was decent, for the amount of money that was spent, I would have loved to not have to go and get food afterwards to be fully satisfied.
We went on Valentine's Day, which likely doesn't reflect what this restaurant normally serves. Service and ambience were both outstanding. However, we both found the food not up to par with the restaurant's reputation; they looked good but lacked the kind of flavor you'd expect from a fine restaurant. Also, a couple of the dishes could have been warmer.
Always a favorite go-to. Our waiter Michael consistently delivers awesome service and the management/ownership is engaging and truly enjoyable to converse with. Not to mention the great food.
Portions are way to small. I was still hungry when all the was said and done
What a GREAT place! It's a converted home that is very authentic with amazing food and service!! The risotto was amazing...best I've ever had. Fish and pasta dishes were amazing! The manager was Chinese-American and very attentive and professional. Place was "packed" which tells you this place has a great reputation with great food, service and value.
We went on a Tuesday night to do the 3-course, $40 deal, and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and the desserts - the apple pie and chocolate mousse - were to die for! The experience was made special by fantastic, attentive service from our waiter. We’ll definitely be back!
We love Floriana - we live a block away and we are moving further out and we are already discussing how many time a month we can make it back to this lovely place! Dupont circle has few treasures better than this.
Started in the bar which is very fun (and pretty gay. Bonus!). Delicious food - lamb gnocchi and scallop & shrimp risotto. Tables are a bit close together, but you forget about it after some wine.
As expected, the food was fantastic. If I had anything to question it would be the Pannetone Bread Pudding temperature. I am used to getting bread pudding warm and it was served at room temperature. Don't get me wrong, it was very delicious.
Our waitress was fantastic, our water glasses always full and the food was superb. Thank you!
Came to this place with my husband and mother, and we enjoyed the experience. However, is not friendly for the elderly, as the only bathroom is upstairs, and many stairs to climb. It's an old building so not much they can do about that. As far as the food, it was decent, some dishes were a hit, like the burrata, that was do die for, but them the risotto was mushy and flavorless. Deserts were also just ok.
It was as good as usual with the added touch of only 4 tables occupied--it was Super Bowl Sunday. If you're not sports fans, this is a plus not that Floriana is so loud that you can't hear your conversation.
Most amazing food we've had ! The beet salad and scallops were delicious...my husband had the salmon also the best he ever had. We will be back!!
Wait staff was excellent and very nice. Great martinis. Food was mediocre. The ravioli I had were very heavy and too much dressing on the salad. My husbands scallops were good he said. Dessert wasn’t worth the calories Nice environment but horrifically noisy ( not their fault it here guests were screaming).
Wonderful food! Friendly service. Nice clientele
We had a lovely time. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious.
The sublime fare is only matched my ambience and service. And I have spent quite a bit of time in Italy!
The ambience is exquisite and the food and service outstanding!!!
The waiter was very friendly and very attentive to my questions. And the food is just as good as I remember it from when I lived in the neighborhood ten years ago!
Great sized portions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely will recommend.
Food was incredible, and the waiters were extremely helpful and prompt. They gave great recommendations on their food and wine selection, and we were not disappointed. Will definitely be coming back here again.
It was soooo good. We went for restaurant week and every serving was amazing.
One of the best Italian meals I've had outside of Italy itself. Fantastic food, good aesthetic, and attentive and knowledgable staff.
