Florent Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We were visiting from out of town and only tried the bunch menu, but we were disappointed. We chose this place because it offered duck bacon. We ordered the duck bacon and waited for about an hour before we were told that they were receiving a delivery of the bacon this morning and had to thaw it. Perhaps because of the rushed process, it did not taste great. Our eggs were also very much undercooked. The rest of the dishes were ok.
The food was better than expected. Appetizer - nacho wedges were delicious. Our dinner which was the carnitas tacos, flatbread of the day, and the jalapeño popper tacos were beyond great. It was rather slow due to the time of day, but our waitress disappeared numerous times and we had to keep waving her down when we need something. Overall helpful and great place, just wish her and staff were more attentive.
Sadly disappointing - hopefully just an off night. Maybe the Dodgers losing made the kitchen go to pieces. Little Gem Salad was made with old Romaine and uncrisp radishes and had to be returned. Hamburger served lukewarm.
Shrimp ceviche tasted scary "off" so I didn't eat it and the wontons were oh so greasy.
Check my reviews - I'm NOT a complainer.
Ice cold Prosecco saved an otherwise sad dinner.
The food was fantastic. Server was great. Music way to loud to have a conversation inside so we sat outside..
Took way to long to get our order, but we weren't in any hurry. Go back again..yes if we are not in a rush..
To many homeless cruising the sidewalks, and what's with selling flowers on the street. Trying to enjoy each other's company without having to tell countless vendors I wasn't interested...
We got there a little early for our 7:45 reservation which was ok because they were not busy so they seated us right away. Food took forever to come out. We asked how long the dessert we ordered was going to take which was ordered at the beginning because it seemed like it was taking forever. We were trying to get somewhere by 9 and the server was like so is everyone else..... everyone else the place was empty. We finally just walked out at 9:15pm without the dessert that was supposed to be with my meal. This was our second time trying the place. The first time we took friends out for there late night club ambiance they lost my debit card when I gave it to them to leave the tab open. The food taste great though.
My friends and I attempted visit this restaurant today. We had reservation at 1:30pm. We arrive at 1:20pm we waited for 5 WHOLE minutes, which was very generous considering NO ONE was there other than the staff. We have yet to be acknowledge or seated. Never again.
For the late evenom hours, 8 pm or later, I would recommend finding something quieter. :) The food was creative, but heavy and over seasoned. We ordered small plates, and we weren't too impressed with the taste, but the portions were still large. Think full appetizer size. Also, as the nightlife for the club picked up, I felt like our dining experience took low priority. I'd be willing to try again for lunch, or even brunch. Timing probably was the issue.
We started our Bachelorette party here at one of the high top tables on a Saturday night. The ambiance was perfect and our service was top notch. We were all a little tired from the previous events but our waitress and bar tenders made us espresso martinis that brought us all back to life! We had the most fun night! Dinner was pretty good, presentation was great- most of us shared small plates. I would recommend this place for location and ambiance. I also hear they have a great brunch!
Outstanding food and service. I enjoyed the fresh opa with puréed carrots and brussels sprouts. Unfortunately the brussels sprouts were undercooked and crunchy, so I did not enjoy them.
Their happy hour wines are very good value. In addition they have half-priced bottles of wine on Wednesday evening. We will definitely check that out next time we are in San Diego.
Cameron made the evening special with a complimentary birthday dessert for my wife.
