Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar - Memphis Ratings and Reviews
SO impressed by Flight! My husband and I visited Memphis for this birthday weekend. We have eaten all over the country (and world!) and we both agreed that the food and service at Flight were some of the BEST. We cannot wait to come back. I got the Soup Flight and a small plate of the chef’s special (red snapper), my husband got the Fish a Flight. We each had a wine flight, too. Everything was amazing, but the Lobster Bisque was absolutely the best I’ve ever had.
I have dined at Flight more than 10 times and have only the highest praise for this restaurant, their staff and management. The food selection, presentation and quality is unbeatable. Absolutely delicious, every time and every dish I’ve had! Whether for a business meal, a celebration or just a great dinner, this is my favorite place. Ultra-convenient (and complementary) valet parking. Always a warm welcome and a thank you on the way out. Staff tends to be young, but don’t let that fool you - they are impeccably trained. And the fact that they support St. Jude is icing on the cake!
Anniversary dinner. Wesley, our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Seated in a quiet window side booth. . Served a complimentary glass of champagne. Fried oyster deviled eggs were amazing. I had the single serving dinner salad. My husband had the corn chowder. We each had a flight entree. I substituted 1 choice of the butcher? Flight. Husband had the seafood flight. Everything super. If you’re not starving share an entree flight. We were both able to eat the meat on each flight choice but very little else of each dish. Or don’t do the salad and appetizer. Hard to do because it is all so delicious
We had a late reservation upon our arrival in Memphis, dining were two adults and two children. We arrived at our reservation early, but had to wait at the bar, despite seeing several tables open. However, our patience was rewarded, when we were seated at a booth in the back - happy to be there with the kids! A couple of drink orders were wrong, but they were promptly replaced, with a smile. They do not have children's menu, but when we were seated, we were told they will do children food. Since we were dining late, I quickly ordered chicken tenders and fries so the children could dine before us. We tried the soup special of the evening as an appetizer. I believe it was a corn chowder - it was fantastic, and in fact, my 7 year old took it over as her own! We had the steak and the seafood flight, all were very good, however, the scallops were maybe the best I have ever had - next time I would order just those, they were delectable! We ended dinner with the Lava Cake - it was wonderful. It was paired an interesting peppermint ice cream. Overall, I would dine there again.
I liked the concept of the restaurant, but I didn’t care for the service. First I will say the food and flavors were top notch, and the options of smaller portions in basically everything gave you the option to try many things. What put a sour taste in my mouth was being treated like an unimportant guest. The place was not busy, we were here extremely early. They seemed annoyed that I didn’t want a 2x2 table where my plate would have to hang off the side. After getting the table we wanted when we said we could eat at another place, we were asked if we were celebrating anything to which we were. However, our server must have felt that my triumph was not as important as the couple next to us who were given complementary champagne toasts. The same went for being offered bread. Our bill was substantial and would have expected fair and equal service and treatment. This was a disappointment for me, especially from a place with such high ratings.
Great food and ambiance. Loved being able make choices from different flights of food. Celebrated our fifteenth anniversary and was the perfect spot to do this. We where so happy that we chose Flight to celebrate this special time for us and will definitely be going again!
We had a great meal here on our first night in Memphis. We loved the variety of dishes and the "flight" concept, and our server was friendly and helpful in making our choices. Favorites were the steak flight, short rib, and chicken and waffles. Against our server's recommendation, we went a little crazy and ended up ordering 7 desserts for 5 people (taking much of it home). Everything was delicious and we really had a wonderful evening.
We were surprised to find the set menu for New Year’s. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We made a mistake when we ordered and the restaurant kindly corrected it for us. The Peanut Shoppe blondie brownie was superb. The chicken and waffle was amazing. The lamb chop was unbelievable. Not my first time to Flight, but my best experience yet!
Everything was excellent except for the initial service. We didn't get waited on for at least ten minutes, and that is unacceptable in a establishment of their caliber. However, they did attempt to rectify the situation, and there were no further hiccups. We will go back.
We loved this restaurant. The concept of ‘flights’ for both wine and meal so that you can taste a variety of options as one meal is ingenious. The food was outstanding. Cozy atmosphere. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a little more upscale restaurant.
We love flight as a general rule but tonight I was disappointed. The pork tenderloin was dry and tasteless. The grouper was nothing outstanding and my lamb was over cooked.
Nicholas did a great job and the company was the best.
The salad was yummy as was the cream pie. Overall, a pleasant evening, just disappointed.
My wife and I made a quick trip to Memphis to celebrate our anniversary and we picked this restaurant based on the reviews, and it did not disappoint. It's a unique dinning experience that allows you to try 3 different options for each course, and the same for the wine selection. Even the desert menus gives you the option of trying 3 different items. We had great waiter, Conner, who is a recent college grad from Memphis who did a fantastic job on explaining how the menu worked, and provided some excellent tips on the menu items. Flight is a short walk from The Peabody, and I would pick it over the options at the hotel.
Xmas holiday, kids in town; out to dinner. Wanted to try Flight for awhile, but when I received a gift certificate; that was my excuse to finally go ahead. Gentleman greeting us at the door was very friendly and professional. Our waitress was incredibly helpful explaining how the “flights” work. GREAT opportunity to try different wines and liquors. The food was absolutely incredible. The fact that you can mix and match any flight of drink or food is extremely convenient. Not nearly as expensive as I was expecting. 4 adults, 3 flights of wine, 3 flights of food, 1 entre order, 2 flights of Scotch after dinner, and 3 desert flights about $250 plus a $50 tip. Been to plenty of nice restaurants and spent that, but downtown, holidays, family and a new and different food experience, WELL WORTH IT. Definitely would recommend trying at least once.
Excellent experience at Flight. The hostess warmly greeted us and promptly took us to our table. Our server was incredibly friendly and took time to explain the menu. We started with the lobster bisque and yellow fin tuna - both were delicious. My wife ordered the Fish flight and I had the Steak flight. Both were excellent. The appetizer and entree service timing was great. We finished with the chocolate dessert flight - amazing!
Our server was fantastic! Very personable and attentive to details.
Flight has extended the idea of a “flight” of wines to include appetizers, tastes of entrees, desserts, and liquors to create a unique American semi-tapas restaurant. Food is fresh, local when available, and beautifully done. Staff are knowledgeable and professional. We had one of our best meals in Memphis or indeed anywhere. Totally satisfying.
