Great Valentines day dinner with my boyfriend! Very happy with this place!
We went on Valentines Day & in as much as our waitress was nice, they were overwhelmed and could not handle the crowd.
Thai mussels are the best! Love this place - my wife and I often visit for date night.
Mussels with mustard cream sauce absolutely delicious. Lots of sauce to dip crusty French bread in. Try the cinnamon donuts with vanilla sauce for dessert. Wonderful!
Best mussels ever! All the food was great. And the donuts for dessert outstanding. Service was wonderful and atmosphere cool yet comfortable. One of my favorite restaurants!
The donuts were fantastic! Nice quiet spot for brunch.
We went for my boyfriend’s birthday and everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The waitstaff was so accommodating (helping with timing the meal, so we would be out of there in time for the bday boy’s surprise party). We will certainly be back and will be recommending the restaurant to all our seafood loving friends!
Great happy hour!ousters and classic mussels were outstanding. Bartender is very friendly. Definitely be back soon with my husband.
Very good sauce choices for mussels create an excellent meal at reasonable prices. Service is also good. Noise levels can be high if the place is packed but it's moderate at less crowded times.
The ambience was great and the food was outstanding.Their savory donuts is a must try...they are awesome!
Fantastic. Food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Great date night spot.
Delicious options for mussels. Octopus appetizer is phenomenal. Fresh oysters too. Staff is very professional and friendly. Great atmosphere.
It’s an “in place” so very popular. Sit in the back if you want to have a conversation without yelling at one another.
Excellent mussels & the donuts to die for!
Excellent staff. Food was bland , mussels small and many were not even open Noisy, Noisy place had to yell to be heard. Very disappointing experience. 2 stars because the staff was terrific. Food is a 0.
Great selection of mussel dishes in a vibrant setting.
I love everything about this casual yet great restaurant. The service is always on point and the food is delicious. Another great meal. Thank you
My favorite place on the UES.
Go there all the time with my family to grab delicious mussels!!!
Our new top neighborhood spot! Food, service and atmosphere were awesome! Starting with the food: We had "burnt fingers" and octopus for appetizer. Both delicious and very satisfying. Cooked to perfection. The burnt fingers come with fried shrimp, calamari and oysters. Light breading and were very delicious. Octopus appetizer was cooked perfectly and are complemented with beans and chorizo. For the main, we had mussels in Thai, Fra Diavolo and Bisque. Each were better than the other. My daughter had the fish and chips. She loved it. Dessert ended up being the surprise of the night. Donuts were over the top awesome! Lemon Meringue Pie was also excellent! Without a doubt, we will be coming back for all of this incredible food we had. I can't say enough good things about this place. There's a good reason why this place is always booked. Be prepared to overeat!
Great food. Absolutely love the mussels. Great service and good prices for what you get. I have been there a few times already and they never fail to impress me. :)
Great food, great service. Excellent drinks! I can't wait to go back. The mussels are star attraction!
Food and wine are delicious especially the truffle fries and salted caramel donut!
I had a friend visiting that I brought here based on many great previous meals. Unfortunately this visit was not as great, our fish & chips were soggy and mushy, our mussels were very dry and the prices were all not equivalent to the value of the food. We were happy to spend on a nice meal, but unfortunately this time the food fell short. The octopus was great, though which helped!
This place was great. The staff was friendly and the food was outstanding. The cocktail menu was very limited but the drink i had was superb ( The One Spicy Tequila). The tables were a little bit too close to each other. I felt like I was on a date with the couple next to us. Other than that our experience was wonderful and we would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be going back.
We chose 3 pots of mussels for the table and shared: the Italiano, the Thai and the Dijon. All were delicious. Truffle fries were hot and crispy. Our only complaint was that the plates were tiny and shallow, so you couldn’t really enjoy sopping up all the delicious juices with your bread. We couldn’t believe they didn’t provide nice big bowls, which is how mussels should be served. House made donuts for dessert were pretty good, but not the best you’ve ever eaten, although they were billed as such by our server. Service was excellent.
Excellent!! Worth the three hour drive! Waiter was fantastic!
Food is well done! basic salad with beets was very good. My son enjoyed his lobster roll but wishes itt was a bigger portion size. would visit again.
Fantastic place for great mussels. Perfect every time. Great sauces and mussels cooked to perfection. The appetizer calamari and shrimp was also melt in your mouth. Crisp, perfect wine. Fresh oysters. Tip: for value for money sit in the front bar section for happy hour.
The food was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Our server Christina was amazing and very helpful with her suggestions. We ended up choosing her favorite the thai one and we were so glad we did because it was fantastic. Love this place!
We love this place- the atmosphere, food and service are always great!!
Food was excellent and be sure to save room for a doughnut for dessert
Asked to leave table and return to bar after being there 45 minutes awaiting other guest. Very rude manager. Have NEVER been asked to give up a table when there were drinks on the table and an appetizer that was being eaten (excellent guac with crab). Love fried oysters... they were the size of quarters and I am not exaggerating. Will be a while before I return and i have been there several times and loved it.
Perfect if you love seafood and/or want to be near the Met Museum
Was too loud, too warm and stuffy. The food was okay but not worth it for the price.
Great food, but atmosphere a bit frenetic & loud
Only a foolhardy person would order Bouillabaisse in a place like Flex Mussels. Mea Culpa.
If a restaurant does not have the slightest idea of how to make it, it should not put it on the menu at an exorbitant price or it should get a chef who knows how to make it.
The version at Flex Mussels consisted of a rice and tomato soup, a few pieces of totally inedible calamari, two shrimps and a few mussels. No fish, no onions, garlic, saffron or cayenne pepper, in fact, no seasoning at all, not even salt and pepper. No rouille, no grilled slices of bread.... Why go on, absolutely disgusting.
Flex us one of our favorites and a rrstaurant we go to when we want to feel good about eating out. Great as the food and wonderful, prifessional and considerate service. it's a gem!
Overall, very good experience. Had a knowledgeable waiter, and excellent food. It was a touch loud and crowded, but definitely a worthwhile experience.
The waiter was excellent! His service was exceptional from the moment we sat down until he gave us the check. His suggestions were perfect and he was sincere.
The food was delicious and the service all around was really perfect.
We can’t wait to go back!
Parma was great. Service was overall very nice, friendly staff and prompt care. I would definitely come back.
