It was a very great experience. Made me feel very high class and the staff were lovely! I went for my one year with my boyfriend and it was one of the best experiences ever. I’d love to go back the next time I have money to spare.
This restaurant never disappoints for special occasion dining. Celebrated a birthday and a very special meal. Service is impeccable and COVID protocol was spot on. We felt safe but still a wonderful meal. Not just going out to eat but dining. A difference and Fleurie knows the difference.
Great as always
Exceptional meal outdoors on heated patio... quiet alley off the Mall in Charlottesville. Both service and food sets this Restaurant apart from all others in town... if you are a foodie, this should be at the top of your list. Nicely done Fleurie!!
Food was great and the service was excellent. Restaurant did a great job with distancing and making sure we were warm while sitting outside. Nice touches with the personalized menu.
Excellent food and service. Hard to pull off on an outside patio in the middle of a pandemic. Much appreciated. Very special nigh with our daughter.
Our experience at Fleurie was wonderful from beginning to end. We even received a couple of delicious surprise dishes from the chef. It was an excellent way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you.
There are not enough good things I can say about my visit to Fleurie. My server, Melissa, was an incredible host. Friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced enough to ensure I made all the right selections. I'd give my left arm to remember the Pinot Noir she made me try. God, it was good.
It's also worth noting that I went in November 2020, on my birthday, which was election day. No one spoke of it. It was exactly what I wanted.
Their menu was personalized, which was a nice touch. The outdoor dining area was heated (thank god) and sufficiently spaced out for me to feel safe while I shoveled down a downright incredible veal chop. Over three courses with a few inbetweeners--including a leek flan dish that stole the show--I had what was maybe the best meal at a restaurant in my life. It's expensive, but the experience was more than worth it.
The food was exceptional and creative. We went for a birthday and they definitely treated us right!
The absolute best experience in all of Charlottesville. Cannot wait to go back!
Perfect evening. We had high hopes for a memorable meal for our anniversary, and Fleurie exceeded every expectation. The food, wine, and service were top notch. Sitting outside under a tent with heat lamps was lovely. We added reserve wine pairings, and I’d recommend it!
A fine-dining gem in Charlottesville! Despite the COVID limitations, the staff delivered a top-notch experience on the "patio". The food was exquisite and inventive, the wine suggestions were spot on, and the entire vibe was relaxed and welcoming while scrupulously keeping diners separated and healthy. Keep this restaurant thriving!
I once went to a restaurant in Daytona Beach that was priced comparable to Fleurie. When we left, I said “That was disappointing.” My companions said “Yes, it was overpriced.” I said “No, it was priced where an upscale gourmet restaurant in a destination city ought to be priced... it was underserved.”
Fleurie is priced where a restaurant of this quality and level of service ought to be. And worth every penny.
We are outside on the patio (COVID requirement) but we would have selected it if available, it was a beautiful clear warm fall evening in Charlottesville. Drinks came quickly, and hot and cold appetizers soon afterward. Yes, the seared fois gras is absolutely worth the slight extra expense. I had the beef and she had the crab stuffed skate, both were full flavored, impressive in preparation and presentation. Literally every bite was perfect. George was our server and he kept food and drinks coming at the right time, without being intrusive. Dinner for my wife and I, all up, including tip: an even $300. We were both in agreement that this is an outstanding dinner spot that we will visit again when we are in Charlottesville.
Amazing food and service. The meal was exceptionally well prepared. Truly in the French style and tradition. This was a spontaneous trip to explore Monticello and the Wineries and we capped it off with this dinner. You will not be disappointed.
We had the best experience at Fleurie!! The food, the setting, and the staff were perfect!! Their safety precautions were in place
Slurp, slurp, yummy, yumm.
amazing. Printed us a special menu. Amazing
My wife and I were extremely pleased with our dining experience. We did the wine pairings, and the matching from course to course was simply wonderful. We sat outside under the tent, beautiful evening, excellent and professional service by Melissa! Look forward to going back again
A wonderful tasting menu and ambience! We really enjoyed our evening there.
The best food and service in Charlottesville
This was our 38th anniversary dinner. We opted for the reserve wine pairing and it was absolutely incredible! Melissa was our sommelier and made our experience one that we will never forget! The food was excellent and eating out on the porch worked well even on a chilly evening. They have mushroom heaters and cushioned seating. Treat yourself and support this fabulous restaurant!!
I surprised my boyfriend with a dinner date to this divine restaurant. Neither of us had been, but after reading the reviews, I knew we couldn't pass it up. We arrived and was greeted by Kris, the manager. He was incredible. He made excellent recommendations and knew the menu through and through. I've been raving about this place to anyone who'll listen. Yes, the food was outstanding, but it was the service and atmosphere that made it unforgettable. I can't wait to go back for my 30th birthday this December. We're looking forward to our next visit and hope to see Kris when we return!
An absolutely impeccable meal and wine pairing. Wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The special treats sent out by the chef were a delight/ surprising and beautifully presented. This restaurant stands equal to the finest you would find in any city.
Outstanding—food was incredible, staff so friendly. Ambiance, even in Rona, was perfect.
Even in the Covid times with a prefixed menu, Fleurie presents an upscale meal that is a culinary delight with no pretention. If you want to make it an even better experience, have Melissa suggest a wine or do a full pairing. Her knowledge and skill are a delight, always with some interesting little story about the winery and or the wine and the selection always elevating and enhancing an already delightful course. We go back every time we are in Charlottesville!
Fantastic! Everything was perfect! The chef even sent us some extra taste treats!
The food was incredible. We got the 6 course tasting menu and everything they brought out was amazing.
We had a wonderful time. The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was delicious. They made our dining experience memorable.
Wonderful complexity in all of the entrees and appetizers. An excellent place to celebrate a special event.
My young friend is leaving Friday to ski the French Alps over UVA’s spring break. A bon voyage meal à la Française. Attentive, knowledgeable wait staff, carefully prepared dishes, great wine recommendations, low noise level, best Pavlova this side of Sydney. A memorable evening out.
Expensive but excellent ambiance, service and the food was above average. I will return for special occasions.
This was our first visit to Fleurie and we had a lovely evening. The food and service was amazing. We will definitely be back and hopefully at a time when it is warm enough to eat outside.
Our server, an attractive young woman, was very, very professional, knowledgeable, sweet, helpful, etc. etc.
Our experience with the 6 course meal with wine parings far exceeded our expectations. I decided that I don't ever have to go back to the Inn at Little Washington with Fleurie right here in my home town. I want to extend my deepest appreciation for giving us such a divine dining experience!
This was our second visit to Fleurie, and it did not disappoint. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu, and we brought our own bottle of wine. The restaurant itself is a little tight size-wise, but the ambiance is very nice and the noise level is good.
The first course was foie gras, which was excellent. The last time we visited we had a foie gras mousse paired with pomegranates, which was insanely good. That said, this version was still very nice on the palate, which a consistency of soft butter, which melted in my mouth.
Second course was a rabbit gelee, which was a bit of an acquired taste from a textural standpoint. It was my least favorite course, but it still provided great flavors. Third course was a butter poached lobster with dijon mousse and candied nuts. Everything went well together, and the lobster was prepared perfectly.
Fourth course was a guinea hen with assorted greens. The hen was tender and the skin was crisp and flavorful. Fifth course was a lamb dish served with eggplant puree and beans. It was a delicious and hearty dish. The lamb was a perfect medium rare and very tender. The entire dish went together very well.
The dessert course was unique...swiss chard tart, along with a salted caramel tartlet and ice cream. It all worked together quite nicely; just a combination you don't see very often.
Overall, we had a great experience, and will definitely be back again. If you are in the Cville area and want to treat yourself to a great dinner, this is the place to be.
Our party of four had dinner here Friday night. We were immediately greeted at the door. The service was thorough but not intrusive. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and responsive. We enjoyed the amuse bouche and had a variety of opening courses, all well done. Two of us had the lobster entrée, one the eggplant, and one the risotto special. The vegetarian options were not an afterthought, as is often the case. Desserts were delicious and in reasonable proportion. And you could actually hear one another talk and not be so closely crowded that your tripped over other patrons! Great experience.
Three of us had a fabulous dinner here on Wednesday night. The food was delicious- we had sweetbreads, chestnut soup and clam risotto as appetizers and an eggplant dish, lobster in pastry and scallops as our main courses. The sommelier was AMAZING. She helped us with our food selections and paired them with fabulous wines. We were too full to order dessert, but were delighted to receive a plate of tiny tarts and chocolate truffles- with a small glass of dessert wine- for free. We will definitely return the next time we are in Charlottesville!
