Best meal I’ve had in recent memory
Awesome! Went for wife’s birthday and could not have been any better. Food, wine and presentation were 5 *
Wonderful overall experience.
The wait staff and the hostess were very personable and on top of their game. Exemplary. Food was also amazing. I would definitely recommend this intimate restaurant to others for an anniversary dinner, valentines, or other romantic occasion.
This was our first visit to Fleurie and everything was very lovely! We had the pre-theatre menu as we were attending a show at 8pm, but needed to leave by 7:30 to pick up tickets at will-call. The servers were very efficient and kept the pace of the service steady, but not rushed. The lobster bisque was divine - found out they used whipped cream to get the extraordinary texture! Also enjoyed the salmon, steak and polenta entrees - all artfully presented and tastefully prepared. The beef was sourced from a local farm, and it had a really nice flavor but was a bit chewy. The salmon was outstanding - coupled with sauerkraut and caviar (or something that looked like caviar) - amazingly delicious! For dessert, we had the creme brûlée and the special brownie mousse with some kind of elegant cream - very nicely decorated and tasty!
Overall, an excellent find - didn't expect such a nice French restaurant in Charlottesville - we'll be back!
Appetizer and main course were really great (risotto and scallops). Dessert was a miss. If an apple dessert is served with ice cream, I would like it to be hot, but this one came straight out of the refrigerator. I'd definitely go again, but pass on dessert.
Easily the most outstanding restaurant in Charlottesville. The staff is professional and readily available to meet all needs. The food is a work of art and delicious. This will be a restaurant that we go back to frequently.
My wife’s birthday
I was not expecting noise, but a holiday party stoked the volume.
Mouth-watering fare, fabulous wine selection, romantic candle-lit atmosphere, and reasonable pricing - does it get any better than that?! Thankful that we listened to our friends' suggestion and tried this Charlottesville treasure.
Great service and food as always. A place I can depend on over and over. Always something new with great taste and presentation
Amazing cuisine drove for an hour and 15 minutes and rented a hotel room all for the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and was not disappointed in any way
There were twelve of us & we were treated like royalty. Every person received individual attention. The food was exceptional both in preparation & presentation. Can’t wait to do it again!
While not inexpensive, there are restaurants in the city that are close in price but lower in value. We have lived in Charlottesville for over five years and have eaten at a number of restaurants. We found some good ones and some that were better than good. However, none inspired superlatives from the first course to the last. Fleurie changes that. Every aspect of the food was close to perfection. The service was attentive and very professional. This is the best dining experience in the city and surrounding area.
Outstanding service with a wonderfully comprehensive wine list. Food was excellent with a beautiful chestnut soup. We moved to a larger table. The tables for 2 were just too small.
Had the tasting menu for the first time. Absolutely amazing. Best meal of my life. Thank you!!!!
Service was amazing, great spot for a date and the food was exquisite. I will be going back.
Fleurie is beyond any doubt Charlottesville's finest restaurant -- a bastion of Michelin-worthy haute cuisine, with a remarkable wine list curated by sommelière extraordinaire Melissa Boardman. We had the chestnut soup with truffle cream, the sweetbreads, scallops, a phenomenal calamari-ink risotto, steak tartare, duck breast & confit, and a wonderful apple tart for dessert. Every time I visit Charlottesville (maybe 6 times/year), I never fail to dine at Fleurie. Let Melissa guide you for wine selections if you're not sure which of her fantastic selections to choose.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday and they could not have been any better to us. Romantic table, wonderful service and delicious food. A very special restaurant.
Everything was amazing. We had a really incredible time and the service is just outstanding. You won't regret it!
Excellence food for this area. If Zagat's still existed I'd rank it 24 or 25. Excellent service as well.
Terrific place for great food, beautifully presented and delicious wine.
Continues to be one of the best restaurants in Charlottesville. Pleasant atmosphere--moderate din gives it a lively atmosphere, but not too loud as not to be able to hear your dinner guests. Service is exceptional. Have yet to have a meal that disappoint. Scallops seared perfectly. Adventurous chestnut soup with truffle whipped cream. Worth the price.
Truly the most amazing food and service. The scallops were the absolute best morsel of food we have EVER put in our mouths. YUM!
Great food in a lovely setting and with really nice staff. Well worth a visit.
My wife and I both selected the tasting menu with the wine pairing. For our first visit, we could not have made a better choice. We experienced all the obvious culinary skills of the chef and service skills of the staff. We will certainly return to enjoy other items on the menu.
Fleurie was our destination dining choice for an early November getaway to Charlottesville. Our table was near the small bar, but for the mid-week night, the booth was perfect for quiet conversation. We especially enjoyed our first courses, lobster bisque with tarragon and steak tartare with caviar. Our mains of duck and black cod were lovely too. We finished with a shared plate of four well chosen cheeses. Our server, Vinnie helped us narrow down our wine choice and impressed us with his knowledge of French wines and regions. It was a delightful evening!
Probably the best gourmet food in Charlottesville!!
Dining here with a friend one evening, the intimate atmosphere (created by the small size of the restaurant and candlelight), creative food and attentive service of Fleurie were all top notch...until the approximately 20-member staff of a local law firm (I was told by a waiter) came in for some sort of celebration. With no consideration for the the other diners already there, they proceeded to increase the noise level to the point that my dinner companion and I could not hear our attempts at conversation even though we were sitting directly next to each other. We even had to ask the wait staff to repeat themselves constantly when they brought various courses, which they did with good humor as they recognized the problem. I did not complain to restaurant staff, expecting them to take the obvious matter in hand, but I never saw any indication that management said or did anything to ask the group to lower the noise level. Fleurie is an attractive, intimate setting with prices that match the high quality of its food and service. It is not the sort of small space that one expects to share with a large group of noisy adults who apparently have no concept of how to behave in public. The group belonged at a Texas Roadhouse or Olive Garden, not at Fleurie. I'll return to Fleurie; however I will check with the restaurant first to make sure that it is not hosting any group events on the evening I have in mind.
Every thing was perfect- good, service, atmosphere
Fleurie was an excellent dining experience. The atmosphere is upscale and quaint at the same time. Our server was very professional, knowledgable and helpful. Before each glass of wine we ordered, he offered a sample. Our food was delicious. It's French inspired modern creations. It is a great place to bring a date.
The tasting menu was everything we had hoped for, but the “Reserve Wine Pairing” was not worth the $85.
Fabulous! Excellent cocktails and spectacular service. The food was outstanding. My new favorite restaurant in Charlottesville!
On big occasions we've been dining at Fleurie for 20 years--it's always been great, and these days it's better than ever. The setting and excellent service creates an elegant but relaxed atmosphere, and the food can't be topped.
This restaurant rates with the best in all categories.
Fabulous food, exceptional service, great wine list and romantic ambiance. A perfect night out!
Easily one of the two best restaurants in Charlottesville. Classically elegant French cuisine. Sophisticated environment. Excellent, knowledgeable sommelier, Great for special occasions or for any time one wants to dine where fine food, service and environment result in an experience to savor classy dining. Worth the price.
Has been our favorite restaurant for at least 10 years
We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Fleurie and were treated to exceptional service, delicious food and a spectacular bottle of wine. We highly recommend Fleurie and we will be back!
The som was great as was the food.
Ambience was wondetful
