Fleming's Steakhouse - Winter Park Ratings and Reviews
I love Fleming's in Baltimore and thought I'd check out the one in Winter Park, FL. It's a MUCH smaller venue and kind of stuck in a strip mall, so location is poor. Food was just as good but man, do you pay for it. I will still go to Fleming's for special occasions, but for a general night out to dine, no way. Just too expensive.
My wife and I were in Orlando area for my company sales conference and decided to check out this location in Winter Park Our server was excellent...she was constantly checking on us and how we were liking our meal...manager came by and also checked on us too...food was amazing as always...my wife and I love going to Flemings no matter what city we are in for a great dining experience
Made reservations over 3 weeks ago.... Arrived for reservation to find people sitting out front on the side walk, lobby packed, and almost 1hr back up. Manager no where to be found and rude hostess tell us to "deal with it". At least 25 parties of not more waiting to be seated..... Pathetic! Walked across the street and ate at Ale House.... Wonderful waitress there saved the day!
A restaurant that charges the prices they do, should do reservations better. I made my Valentine reservation almost a month in advance and I should not have to wait 45 min for a table, and to have somebody else walk in and get seated in 5 min. Will never go back to this restaurant
Fleming's is our go-to place for special occasions and this past Valentines Day did not disappoint. We understood that Valentine's Day is super busy and stresses the kitchen and servers- plus waited too long to book a reservation and were happy to get a 4pm table and were a bit more forgiving than normal. We both had the Modern Casear Salad that was a bit on the wilted side. I had the Prime Rib that I would rate as outstanding but my wife's strip steak while cooked correctly as medium rare came up somewhat short on taste. We split a baked potato that was somewhat dry, but nothing that a slathering of the loadings served on the side could not take care of! We also split an order of the Spicy Thai green beans that were excellent. While Fleming's food is not always outstanding and is very pricey, the overall experience is consistently very good and keeps us coming back.
We had 9:30 reservations and showed up at 9:20. We approached the hostess stand where 2 hostesses were standing. One was busy filling a candy bowl and the other staring at the computer. My wife and I stood there approx 3 minutes before we asked if this is where we check in for reservations. We were then told yes and that they were busy and it may take 30 minutes before we could be sat. We were finally sat after half of the tables were empty at 10:15.
We had reservations for 7:15 pm but due to the overcrowded Valentine Day's weekend, we were seated 45 minutes late. I guess that is to be expected on such a popular dining out occasion and they handled it well. The food and service were very good. It was an enjoyable evening despite the wait.
Granted it was the Saturday of Valentine's Day, but a place like Fleming's should know that guests linger on those nights and scale back their reservations. Our 7:15 booked table was made available at 7:50 and there was almost no place to wait. Bar was packed, entry-way overflowing so some were waiting outside. The food is solid although Flemings tries to compete with the likes of Morton's and Christner's and it is just not as good - so the prices should reflect that. Top it off with a waiter who recommended wine selections that were nearly double the cost of the one I selected and Flemings really blew it for us. I will make my V-Day reservation early next year or cook myself. Flemings is OK for their happy hour when the food prices are in line with the quality they deliver. Otherwise, I just don't see a reason to go back. :(
Big problem with hour and a half wait. Reservation for 7:15 but staff totally screwed up. When we finally got seated the food was good. Service excellent. Wine list as good as it gets. Manager recognized our displeasure at the wait and bought our first drink and appetizer. Don't go here on a busy night. Just not reliable.
The service at Fleming, Winter Park was outstanding. Steaks came out exactly as ordered and were clearly of exceptional quality. It was our second visit to this location within 6 weeks. We would not have returned had the food been any less than of high quality. We will undoubtedly return in the not too distant future.
I miss the ambiance that a true High End steak house should have, like Ruths Chris had when they were on Douglass. Low lighting, high back booths, open space, quiet atmosphere. Todays High End is like a regular steak house but with double the price. Flemings, Crisners, and Ruths are all the same.
Overpriced in general for the total dining experience. Went because we (2 people) had a gift certificate for $125, and still cost an additional $100 out of pocket for two filet meals and a two glasses of wine. Not a fan fan of the al a carte menu. Do your homework and you will find much better fine dining options in the Orlando area. We will not be going back.
We received a friendly greeting and were seated immediately. Our server was "on spot" and warm throughout our entire dining experience. Water was refilled regularly. We both chose the prime rib dinner, which included salad and dessert. We were not aware until the bill arrived and were pleasantly surprised that there was special pricing on two prime rib dinners. The Fleming's salad was very tasty. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and we chose the Fleming's potatoes & onion rings. All were delicious. I ordered Lava cake for dessert and have to say it is the best I've had.
Complimentary attendant parking made it convenient.
I have dined here in the past and they never disappoint.
Flemings is always perfect and this visit did not disappoint. The food was delicious and our steaks were perfectly prepared. The service was impeccable. We were celebrating our engagement and at the end of the meal the manager brought over a gift box of chocolate truffles to congratulate us - such a nice touch! We will definitely be back!
First time at Fleming's Steakhouse. Had always passed by, but steakhouses never capture my attention considering I do not eat beef. However, I tried my mother's steak and it was amazing. Food may be a little over priced for what you are getting, but the service really makes up for it. In the end, you always get what you pay for.
Fleming's clearly overbook for New Years Eve. I would guess they triple booked. It didn't matter we had an 8:15 reservation. We checked in and were forced to stand in the bar that had people sandwiched in like sardines. My husband was lucky enough to grab a high top when some others left. We ended up eating dinner in the overcrowded bar. Our server, Bridgett, did everything she could to make us comfortable. she was the only high point of the evening. Not a good way to celebrate New Years Eve. Everyone else seem to be feeling the same way. Not ever going back to Fleming's.
We went to Fleming's for New Years Eve dinner and everything was great until it was time to pay the bill. I handed my credit card to the waitress and then waited a half hour for her to bring me my bill. When she did it was not even my bill and so we had to wait another 15 minutes for her to straighten it out. I tipped her 20% and my wife said that I was being overly generous since it took her so long to get the bill right.
Went to Fleming's for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and once again the restaurant delivered a very good overall experience. Drinks, Food, and Ambiance were up to our expectations and we had an outstanding server. While pricey, Fleming's consistently delivers the best overall "premium steakhouse" experience for our money.
I do many business meals and this was my first time at Fleming's. For the price range it could have been a much better experience. I set up a dinner for 10 and it was a train wreck. The wait staff was very inexperienced. They did not make you feel like you were in a steakhouse. There was no sommelier. We ordered 4 bottles of wine. It was well priced per the competition. The seafood was not top notch quality. The shrimp in the seafood tower appetizer still had some of the shell on it. It was not well cleaned. The crab legs were frozen. The muscles were great and so was the lobster. The steak was mediocre. The sides were great. Great French fries and green beans. The waiters kept putting the wrong meals in front of people and having to supplement stuff left and right to accommodate. It just did not feel like a high end restaurant. They did not get the steak temperatures right for everyone. We had to pour our own wine on many occasions and the water was not refilled or kept at an acceptable level. It was not overly busy. I will not be going back. I will stick to Capital Grille and Eddie V's in Orlando. Fleming's is not on par or even close. Disappointed.
Expensive, but always a great steak. We dined on a Saturday night in December, so it was ferociously noisy and busy, but we had a corner, wall table out of the fray ( good choice to request any night for some intimacy). As with any high end steak house, sides are pricey but delicious and an easy share for 2 or 4. Calamari is great and the salads are perfect for a starter. All in all, a wonderful evening out, just not during the holidays.
