Fleming's Steakhouse - Tucson Ratings and Reviews
Very over priced for what you get. Don't mind paying for quality but the food was nothing special. Small portions. Flemings Famous potatoes were bland. Restaurant was as loud as a rock concert. Service was good but that was the only positive. There are much better places to eat in Tucson where you actually get value for your money. Will never eat there again and will advise friends and family to avoid at all costs.
My wife and I shared a ribeye that was delicious but expensive particularly because the menu is completely ala carte. We also had a wedge and a spinach salad that were excellent. Our friends shared 3 appetizers. Their wedge salad and lobster bisque were great, but they said the calamari was bad (and they order calimari at almost every restaurant we’ve ever been to with them). Our server, Janey, and her assistant, Austin, were great.
We went New Years Eve and the food and service were excellent, as always. We made reservations several months in advance and had requested a booth. Obviously a very busy night and no luck w/ the booth request. When I inquired as to how the seating was determined for booths received a very opaque answer. All in all a nice restaurant
Food was excellent and service good up to the dessert time. At that point my husband got his espresso but the cheesecake arrived at least 15 minutes later.
Also we decided to join the Dine Rewards program and was told by Chris the waiter that we should save our receipt in order to get credit but. Not true- nothing counts until after you sign up. Argh!
Great food. Little noisey, especially the bar. Ordered a Southern Comfort Old Fashion. No SC. My wife asked for a white napkin because of the restaurant having black napkins and she was wearing white pants. No white napkin. Sometimes the little things make a difference in customer service. Also some people were dressed way too comfortable. If you are going to a high end restaurant like Fleming’s, please dress appropriately.
Our experience at Flemings was, as usual, pleasurable. Our favorite waiter served us, along with his team, and we were given excellent service.
There are some areas that could be improved. For example, the soup selections are quite limited. Often there is a soup not on the menu, and that helps, but it would be nice if there was an onion soup, a vichyssoise, a mushroom, and a regular lobster bisque, that was available on this visit.
The beef is as good as it gets. Cooked to perfection and so tender that you don't need a knife.
It's somewhat annoying, that at the prices you pay for beef, everything else is extra. For example, a baked potato is $12. That's just ludicrous. A high priced steak or fish dish should come with at least one side dish.
My only real criticism is that the prices are too high for the Tucson market. Why should I pay $21 for a shrimp cocktail that includes 5 shrimp? Well, I pay it because I love the restaurant and its food, but I don't love it prices, which I think are too high for Tucson.
But over all Fleming's is a really class act. A manager has always visited our table to talk to my party every time I have been there, and my requests ( a quiet place) are always handled appropriately.
My criticisms are minor, and I will continue to go to Flemings often.
WAY overpriced for the quality and consistency of the food served. My ribeye was cooked to perfection while my husband's filet was overdone and tasteless. The Flemings Potatoes were thick and gooey and also didn't have much flavor - certainly no jalapeño flavor. This was our second visit to Flemings over a span of years and both times we had the same opinion afterwards - the food is just ordinary at best but the service is outstanding!
We visited Flemings for Thanksgiving and it was fabulous! The food was delicious and the restaurant was generous with its portions. They had a preset Thanksgiving menu or you could order off of the main menu but we went with the Thanksgiving special. It was one of the best Thanksgiving meals we have ever had!
Our server, Joe, was very attentive and accommodating. He offered outstanding service and made our night! One of the managers visited our table several times to check on us and engaged in meaningful conversation, we enjoyed his visits. If we go to Tucson again we will definitely visit Flemings. The staff and food are some of the best we have experienced on vacation! Thank you for making the holiday evening so wonderful!
Fleming’s is such a great place for a special occasion. The filet mignon was amazing (try it with the straight horseradish) and the sides were great. The waitstaff is second to none, and the GM stopped by to say happy birthday and to check on the evening.
You cannot go wrong with Fleming’s! It’s an all-time favorite!
