Food was mediocre we’ve had better just wasn’t there last night.
Steak had a odd taste and was not as tender as before. My with had chocolate soufflé and could not finish said to much salt had added. I tried it and agreed.
Fantastic meal and wine.
Ordered 12 oz filet medium well and came out medium rare (no excuse for steakhouse). Son ordered Salmon and server never asked how to cook fish. Had to find server and inform her to cook the fish all the way thru (previous visit fish came out rare). Appetizers came out 2 minutes after ordering. Calamari was soggy and tasted like it was sitting for a while. Brussel Sprouts however were hot and excellent.
I love this restaurant. Julie was awesome. This will definitely my go to restaurant
Love the remodeled Fleming’s!
Steak was ordered medium rare, came out very rare, but they ended up comping the steak, which was unexpected.
The Server was un-attentive. We asked for Dirty martinis and got maritinis straight up. Simple fix but still. Worst of all she got our steak temperatures mixed up. I requested "Medium" and my Wife requested "Medium/Well". I received mine "Medium/Well" and she received hers "Medium". We didn't complain because that would lead to having to re-cook my steak and we simply did not feel like waiting so we just ate the steaks like that.
Close to our hotel. Great food. Great service. Will look for Fleming’s when we travel.
Went here with friends for a special occasion on vacation. The food was fabulous. We all enjoyed our meals. Very pricy, but I guess that's what you get in southern California. Overall, we enjoyed our evening there.
Lovely lunch for a birthday. We all had something different and everyone was happy with their choices. Prompt service and it was surprisingly quiet for the amount of people I. The restaurant
I’ve always been a fan of Fleming’s until this past visit. We went there to celebrate our anniversary. Even though it was stated in our reservation, nobody even acknowledged it was our anniversary. Everything from the food to the service was mediocre. It definitely didn’t feel like a “fine” dining experience with the amount of money spent.
Good food cooked to.my taste with good service in a nice environment that does not bteak the budget.
Very Deceptive Advertising - Huge Headline in all their ads and emails they sent me: FILET AND LOBSTER FOR $50 EVERY DAY
I made a reservation at the Newport Beach Flemings on April 7th to take advantage of this special. Once we were seated we were given our menus and ordered a couple of drinks. When our waiter (Ken) came to our table I told him we were there for the special . He was very apologetic and said that the special is only on Monday's. I said to him that all the email promotions I received had the headline "Filet and Lobster Every Day" for $50 Get a 3 Course Meal. He did say that many people had been confused by that promotion and that in the small print it stated that Newport Beach was excluded. Well, if Newport Beach is excluded, stop sending me those offers.
My wife and I decided to leave since after speaking to the front desk, it was obvious they would not honor the offer. Very bad customer experience. Below is the ad received:
FILET AND LOBSTER FOR $50 EVERY DAY
Go Ahead, Have It All
Our three-course Filet and Lobster prix fixe menu is now available everyday.* That means if you want to enjoy our Filet Mignon, North Atlantic Lobster Tail, and two additional courses all for $50, Monday through Sunday - you can. And really, who could blame you?
And if you're ready for a new favorite, pair our Filet Mignon with the sweet taste of our new Colossal King Crab Leg as part of a three-course prix fixe menu for $59.
Because when you want it all - you should have it.

When we arrived they asked if we were celebrating something. I told them we were celebrating my son’s 14th birthday. I thought maybe they do something special but they didn’t. No big deal, just don’t know why they would ask.
Everything was amazing. From the sweet chile calamari to the perfectly cooked ribeye. We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We also ordered the chocolate lava cake in advance....delicious.
Bring back the Pepper Steak Sauce! I hear people asking for it everytime we dine there. Even the servers had told me they get requests for the sauce.
Fleming’s steaks are OC’s best. The service was excellent.
It was a birthday dinner. Dinner was wonderful.
They made our anniversary dinner felt even more enjoyable thanks to their friendly and great service and food.
All around great dining experience! Our dinner was absolutely perfect, can’t wait to go back’
Excellent steaks, in a comfortable atmosphere. Staff was helpful, and nice.
The food was excellent and the service outstanding.
Visited for Easter brunch with mother-in-law from out of town; we had a late reservation so the restaurant was not crowded. The waiter talked my daughter out of what she first asked for (on the brunch menu) and then would not change it when she changed her mind - even though the first course had not arrived yet. The dish that the waiter recommended was okay, but not the quality that we are used to at Flemings. Even though we were right by the kitchen, with serving people going in and out continuously, our water glasses were empty for more than half of the entire time we were there - and throughout the meal. The dishes went uncleared for about ten minutes. The restaurant was not even half filled at the time. The waiter was the primary disappointment; perhaps the end of a busy morning? We felt taken for granted. Several GM’s were visible and walking around visiting; they also didn’t notice empty water glasses and dirty dishes. We usually have much better service and food, so we’ll be back at some point, maybe just not the next time the desire is there.
Sadly, we had a less than stellar experience at Flemings this last Saturday night. It has always been our "go to" restaurant for special occasions, and we were actually celebrating our anniversary this visit.
The server was delightful and friendly throughout the evening, and struck up conversations with us.
My husband has celiac disease and there were interestingly very limited appetizer options for us - even the shrimp cocktail we ordered has added gluten in the cocktail sauce and we had to cancel that order. Our cocktails and salads were very good.
We have always loved that Flemings has over 100 wines by the glass, and this is no longer the case. In fact, we wanted to order two glasses of Chardonnay and while there were only 5 choices on the menu, they were sold out of 2 and only had a $22, $19 and $12/glass options. For a Saturday night to be sold out of 2 of the 3 reasonably priced wines by the glass, was not really good form.
When the main course came out the Flemings potatoes (our favorites) were severely undercooked (not tasty) and my $64 bone in filet showed up cool to only slightly warm (at best) on a very hot plate. I sent it back and when it returned - very hot - it was overcooked. My husband's ribeye was delicious and the mushrooms were excellent.
We were not offered a dessert menu (which felt odd) or even anything special for our anniversary - which Flemings always used to acknowledge.
All in all a very disappointing $325 dinner.
The staff was quite nice and attentive. We have dined here often and my family was disappointed that they now serve each person one roll and butter vs. the bread and 2 different spreads which were quite good!!! Not a huge deal!
My wife and I have dined at Flemings many times, but this was our first visit since the remodel. The interior was beautifully done and is now light and bright with a Restoration Hardware modern motif. We were seated immediately upon our arrival very near our reservation time. After reviewing the menu, we chose the Shrimp Cocktail as an appetizer, the Wedge Salad for the next course, and each had a 12 ounce Filet cooked medium for our entrees. For sides we had the Lobster Mashed Potatoes and the Creamed Spinach. To accompany the Filets, we chose a bottle of the Hall Cab. Everything mentioned was perfectly prepared and service was on point. I highly recommend Flemings for you next night out !!
We have gone many times to Flemings in another city. Very disappointed on the seafood tower and service at the Newport Location.
Disappointed. We usually have Fleming's as one of our "go to" restaurants for special occasions or if we just want to go steakhouse where we know what to expect and are always pleased with the meal. We were surprised that the menu selections seemed to been scaled down and some of the past selections are no longer available ( or at least on the menu). The steak, which we love because no matter what Fleming's we are at the steak is always consistent with great seasoning and flavor was very bland and lacked its usual "Fleming's" flavor. The wait staff was excellent as usual, and we received a complementary dessert which was not necessary but appreciated. Sadly, the dessert, creme brule was "gritty" for lack of a better word. Our bill which was $400 plus was not unexpected with drinks and wine but just did not seem to be a value for the food we received. We have been regular patrons of Fleming's for some time and will give it another shot, with the hopes that this was just a one-time occurrence.
We dined for our anniversary and the service was exceptional! Everyone was so friendly and made us feel very special. The food was outstanding as usual- we love Fleming’s and the Newport Beach location is by far our favorite! Well done!!
Was sat in what appeared to be a private dining room downstairs with no natural light. Ambiance was less than desirable. If we would have known that, we would have went somewhere else. The positive...The service was great.
Food was good, prefer Ruth’s Chris though
I haven't been to Flemings in a very long time but found it terribly expensive and we where there to celebrate a birthday and they couldn't even give us a birthday dessert. There where only 3 of us for dinner, 2 of us had a drink, we had 2 sides and we all three had the small filet mignon, my friend brought the wine and we where charged $40 corkage fee, coffee and one dessert. The bill came to $338 with tip. I won't be returning to Flemings. Too many other good restaurants that aren't that expensive.
We love the special on Monday nights with the steak and lobster! So yummy!! Meghan, our server, is outstanding. She is attentive and so pleasant! Thank you Meghan for a wonderful evening with our friends!
Wonderful dinner impeccable service, loved the baseman nice and quiet.
Ambiance and service were exceptional. Bone Marrow appetizer was best I’ve ever had. My husband enjoyed the lobster Mac and cheese. Lava cake was delicious. Unfortunately the steaks were terrible and the very expensive seafood toppings were unacceptable. We paid $18 each additional for lobster caviar topping and truffle crab. The seafood was old and not fresh at all. The steaks were not good either. Very expensive.
READ THE FINE PRINT! Fleming's is boasting its 3-Course Filet and Lobster Menu EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK in BIG BOLD PRINT on their web site. But, when we got to there, we were informed that this particular Fleming's (Newport Beach) only serves the Special on Monday's. And, believe it or not...they would not budge! Word of advice---UPDATE THE WEB SITE AND SAVE YOUR PATRONS THE DISAPPOINTMENT!
Always a good meal and excellent service. Ambiance in the part of the restaurant was not as nice as other areas but it was quieter so maybe that was the trade off. Server was excellent and fun.
Tower tasted good and of course its called a tower but most of us at my table could not see the food as it was taller than us.
Great food, great service!
I have eaten at Mastro's, Capital Grille, and Ruth's Chris here in OC and this was delicious. I was mailed a $50 promotional gift card and decided to make Fleming's a date night with my wife. Jordan, Manager, sat us in a timely manner. She would later visit our table and make pleasant small talk. The drinks and food were exceptional (seafood tower, porterhouse, Fleming's Potatoes, and Brussels Sprouts). The wedge salad was average with the lettuce being slightly old. I loved this place and will be back to try another cut!
Speaker above our table was blasting....they were unable to turn it down after several attempts. Our steaks were very overcooked. Getting a replacement took WAY TOO LONG. Staff was nice and tried to be helpful; however, for that kind of money, we will stick with Mastro's.
