Fleming's Steakhouse - Livonia Ratings and Reviews
Everything we tasted was delicious. The waitress even brought us some porcini mushroom sauce and Gorgonzola sauce to try with our steaks. I highly recommend this place. The only downside is it’s ridiculously expensive and the person bagging up the leftovers forgot all the sauces to go with my meal.
We always enjoy Flemings. They are make you feel very special. The service and the server was great. This was just a date night for me and my husband on Monday night. They are running a 3 course special on Monday nights that include an 8oz filet and either a lobster tail or Alaskan King crab legs. We both ordered our filet medium, which we told was going to come with a pink center. It looked like the steak was done perfectly when it came, but we both very disappointed in the filet. It was dry and fairly tasteless. My husband's Alaskan King crab legs did not look very big and in reality it was just one leg split in half. And even though the special was priced well, the entire meal with tip costs us $181 with only one glass of wine. I hope this was a one time experience because it was a disappointing experience.
We were a little disappointed in the steak and lobster dinner special. The price is now $50 and they have cut the accompaniments/selections. Livonia is corporate test location. Previously the special included a small appetizer, a salad, side, entree and dessert for $39. Now it is a salad, entree and dessert. There are no candles on the tables. They give you a paper menu for the wine list. They previously gave out iPads which you could use under already dark conditions. They no longer give a $25 gift card out for birthdays, with truffles. any more- instead they take a picture, sprinkle little things on table and give you a box of truffles. I asked to take something home, and it was not in the container when I took it to work for lunch the next day. We overheard another couple complaining about the missing candle and lack of ambiance to the manager. He brought them one of the lobster butter-warmers. While they were talking, it was removed from the table without asking- as the server swiped it. We heard the couple wonder aloud why they were in the dark and what happened to it. It looks very stark/dark, without the candleglow in the restaurant. Server was good.
Ordered the filet bone medium well in butterflied with lump crab topping, received a filet charred without bone tho the crab was still atop sent it back and when I got what I ordered originally it was RIGHT! I just wished I had my food all at once I ended up eating sides until the correct steak arrived and was full by that time and everyone else had enjoyed theor meal.
Very expensive food that was really mediocre! I bought the dry aged steak (the most expensive steak on the menu). I could have done as well or better at Outback’s. The waitstaff were slow and the ambience was surprisingly boring. I couldn’t recommend this to anyone. I wonder what I missed! But I left underwhelmed and hungry.
Excellent food. Our waiter, I believe his name was Mike, was excellent. He was attentive, but didn't intrude. Just right. The food was excellent and the atmosphere great. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a nice night out at an upscale restaurant. Perhaps a little pricy, but worth the extra.
First time disappointed, my soup was warm not hot my daughter ordered her prime rib medium rare and it was medium to medium well and had to be sent back. Fleming’s is slipping from where it used to be good but not outstanding like I have rated it in the past
I have had several meals at Flemings. It appears that the side dishes are not as generous as they once were. The main course was fine. My wife asked for a container for her left over steak. The busboy removed the plate and never returned. It may be a while before I return.
This is our favorite go to place. It is pricey but the steaks are impeccable. We are frequent customers. The complimentary champagne for special occasions is a nice touch. We enjoy the small plate lobster. We have a specific wine and while the lava cake is delicious, we like the carrot cake just as much. If we are going to spend the money then we want to know it was on good food rather than a possible disappointment.
We usually love going to flemings but it wasn't the best experience last night.
The shrimp cocktail was over cooked which the waitress graciously replied with great ravioli.
Then the crab legs came in a soupy broth in a container and tasted very fishy.
The filet and side of onions were excellent as usual.
Chocolate martini was also not quite normal and extremely sweet, much more so than usual
Chocolate Lava cake was sensational
The venue is clean and the staff is attentive. The free valet parking was a nice touch on a very cold night, and the waitress took my ticket to get my car staged to leave before we'd even paid for the dinner.
We ordered two appetizers - crab cakes and "colossal" shrimp cocktail. The crab cakes were great. The shrimp cocktail was anything but colossal, and they were all dry and just tasted 'old' for lack of a better way to describe it. They certainly didn't seem fresh and it was very disappointing.
The ribeye was a good steak - not the best I'd ever had, but it was enjoyable. The sea bass was overcooked to the point of being crispy on the edges so it wasn't the flaky, fall apart texture I'm used to for that type of fish. The side dish of mashed potatoes was good, but the asparagus was a bit charred and had little or no seasoning. It should have been cooked to a crisp tender, but it was mainly just crisp and flavorless.
We didn't order wine because of the exorbitant prices, but the mixed drinks we ordered were fine.
Overall, I give the restaurant a Fair rating because it is so expensive without doing anything to set itself apart from any other restaurant. In fact, the food is substandard when compared to some chain restaurants and doesn't hold a candle to a Morton's, Ruth's Chris, etc., while being priced at an equivalent level.
Food was good. crowd was fine, but I didn't like how the bar tender upsold us on the 9oz glass of wine. We were there for happy hour which is a little better value, not much but none the less ounce for ounce, happy hour is the best way. Why would she do that? I'm not running back any time soon because of that!
Waitress was rushed and not very friendly as it was New Years Eve and she obviously did not want to be there. She was only nice at the end as it was tip time - steak of all things was prepared well when asked for medium rare NY Strip - shouldn’t have to worry about that at Fleming’s - replacement steak was small and done medium but just dealt with it - not my finest experience for the money.
Arrived early for our reservation on New Year’s Eve. So we thought we’d settle in at the bar for a half hour or so waiting for our table. But, Jenna offered up a table in the bar. Had our best meal ever at Flemings’s thanks to the exceptional food and superb service. Thanks to Jenna and the chefs.
