Fleming's Steakhouse - Lincolnshire Ratings and Reviews
I took my 11 year old son for his birthday dinner. The server, Katelyn, treated him like royalty. The manager brought him a box of truffles and wished him a happy birthday. It was an incredible experience for him and I am very thankful for the staff for treating us so well! Thank You!!
We came here for a birthday. We had the ahi poke for an app. It was outstanding - I would get it again in a heartbeat. We shared everything and they were wonderful about splitting it before it came to the table. The 16 oz. strip was to die for - cooked med. rare - just the way we like it. Loved the whole meal - a bit on the pricy side - good for special occasions - I wouldn't bring kids
We frequent this establishment regularly and it’s been hit or miss for the past 2 years. I normally don’t write reviews but something needed to be said.
1. Prosciutto was so thick it was inedible.
2. Calamari was cut so small and over cooked chewy like shoe leather.
3. Bone-In Ribeye cooked perfectly but tough and chewy I didn’t even eat it.
4. Mashed potatoes tasted great!! but had been sitting in the steam table so long that they turned to a sticky starchy mess.
Flemings has always been one of our favorite places for a good steak. Since moving further away from their locations, it had been a while since we'd eaten there. Our mutual birthdays was the special occasion for making the trip.
Since the portions are generous and we can't seem to eat as much as we used to, we decided to share an entree, salad and side. We love the NY strip, Flemings potatoes and Flemings salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and 7 oz for each of us was just right. The salad and potatoes are a favorite and did not disappoint. Adding a glass of really good wine was the perfect touch. We stand by our previous recommendations....
Ok, we had a wonderful time at Flemings because we were in a festive mood, celebrating a birthday. However, after looking forward to a delicious steak dinner, both of us were disappointed in our steaks. Mine was the Chef's special-NY strip- with a lobster tail on top, and my husband had the bone-in rib eye. Mine was very undercooked for a medium-rare PLUS-I should've set it back for more cooking but did not, my fault there. It was also chewy . The lobster tail was tiny, and the sauce on top (Bernaise?) was very salty :( My husband's steak was thin and not that tasty. We had the majority of our meat wrapped to take home. The tuna poke appetizer on the other hand was delicious, and our waiter was very good...helped with wine selections and tastings. Sorry to have to leave this review, but the steaks were a disappointment, and we really scoured local restaurant reviews (Sullivan's, Beelows, Ruth Chris, etc...) before deciding on Flemings.
The steaks were amazing. Cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The creamed spinach was the best we ever had, anywhere.
The appetizers we ordered were good. The desserts were fair at best.
Service could have been timed better. (They brought the soup and salad at the same time.) Coffee didn't arrive for at least 5 minutes after ordering, we had to ask for a refill.
The noise level was great. We did not have to strain to hear each other.
We were very disappointed. The restaurant was empty. They had run out of the chef special (?) and didn’t offer us anything...perhaps buy a drink or an appetizer. The food was fair...the French fries were so salty we couldn’t even eat them, and my list goes on. It was output friends 60th birthday and he frequents this restaurant and they didn’t even buy the small birthday dessert with a candle. The bill was $800+ for 6 of us - two of us only had one glass on wine. I would go to any other local steak house...like Ruth Chris or Gibson’s or Ej’s Place.....but never here
We really like Fleming’s and have dined at the Lincolnshire location many times. The service is always excellent, as are the wine list and food. The only reasons I gave this 4 stars instead of 5: (1) We were sat in what my husband refers to as the “kid section” instead of the main dining room on New Years Eve. (2) We both ordered the special (small bone-in fillet and three grilled shrimp) for our entrees. The food was delicious but we thought $75 for the plate was too much.
By far the best filet I have ever had. I don’t even bother going to Morton’s or Ruth Chris anymore. The sides are great as well. The Fleming’s potatoes and onion rings with jalepeno aioloi are a must try. The wine selection is also notable. I have taken friends and family here and all have been blown away by how amazing the meal was. I highly recommend Fleming’s to anybody looking for a top-notch steak house.
We had a family dinner for ten here. The wine, appetizers and steaks were amazing. One in our group had food allergies and they did a nice job accommodating him but could not provide a dessert. Sorbet would be a great option to add to their menu. I would go back for the small plates, filet and the amazing walnut cake!
Fantastic experience again. We've been to this locations five or six times over the last couple years. It never seems to disappoint. Food is always top notch, service outstanding, from the hostess all the way through the evening. Ambiance is very cozy(it was 3 degrees outside when we visited), comfortable and private. Anyways love this place...
Normally a very good meal with properly cooked steaks and fresh seafood. However this was a bit of a disappointment. We each had the 8oz filet and 12oz lob tail. The steaks were cooked to a good med rare. The lob tails however were overcooked. In fact one was crispy on the outside and jerky in texture. Flemings replaced the crispy one, yet the replacement was also overcooked (rubber in texture). We suspect they were originally frozen due to the texture and color, although Flemings said they arrive fresh every other day. These were Australian lobster tails.
For desert we had a lava cake and butter cake with poached pears. While the cakes were good, there was not much lava in the chocolate and the pears were not poached, but rather torched. They were browned on the outside yet hard inside. This was a Wednesday night so perhaps they did not have there A team in the kitchen, but it was apparent they staff on hand does not know how to properly broil a lobster tail or poach pears. We will return, but no more lobster tail.
We celebrated a big anniversary with dinner at Fleming's last weekend. What an outstanding choice! The food was great, the ambiance was very nice and the service (from Ann and the team) was perfection. She was there to answer our questions, make excellent recommendations and really helped to make our anniversary dinner one to remember.
By the way, we'd had dinner at another well-known steakhouse just south of Fleming's the month before, and its easy to give Fleming's the better review in every category. Thanks Fleming's! We'll definitely be back!
