Fleming's Steakhouse - LA Ratings and Reviews
It was my birthday, and they really made it special. The food was outstanding, and the service was really great. Love our waiter! Everyone there is really trained to serve, and go beyond what you expect.
The "small plates" are the way to go!
We ordered our steak "medium rare", and it came more like "medium - we sent it back, they gave us a new steak, a free dessert and a $25 gift certificate for next visit! These guys really believe in keeping the patron happy!
This is my 5th time coming to this flemings location. It was the worst one so far. My girlfriends Filet Mignon was over cooked. My Bone in Rib Eye was fine. I gave my girlfriend some of my rib eye and she was pretty full by the time her filet mignon came out. It took them 20 min to bring out her steak. Not a good feeling to have when ur eating at an expensive restaurant. Not only that, but they charged us for 2 filet mignon when the bill came. Very unproffesional. Our waitress was an overall 7 out of 10. Didn't even bother to give us the specials. I had to ask her. I would go back but if this ever happens again, It will be my last time.
Fleming's is a delightful steakhouse. The steaks are good, but the other dishes are good too. The lettuce wedge is unique with bacon and fried onions, the onion soup is excellent and the lobster mashed potatoes are the best in the business. The only disappointment are the desserts. The are very predictable and typical and not as unique as the other dishes.
It was a Saturday night at 8p and the place was packed but with reservation we were seated within 5 minutes. The food quality is good off the charts however their sides are massive especially the onion rings so inquire first before ordering. Everything we had was seasoned well and the bone in rib eye we split was cooked to rare+ and done extremely well! Whenever in LA I would definitely go back. Good solid steak house experience.
I'd like to thank the management team for responding to my feedback given from my previous visit. This visit was back at the standard I am accustomed to. Our server Brittany was exceptional, taking the time to respond to my every need. I ordered the NY steak, it was cooked to perfection, the Round Pond cabernet was the right compliment. No complaints with all that was ordered. I appreciate the friendliness of the serving staff and management team. My only regret was that I had no room for dessert. I have already recommended Fleming's downtown to a number friends. I will be returning again soon.
We ordered medium (pink center) dry aged rib eye with 3 sides, but the steak came to us wayy over cooked. The waitress immediately took the steak with apologies and went to go get another one started in the kitchen. Then one of the managers came over to apologize again and took the sides away to make new ones; so that they would be fresh & hot for us for when the new steak came out. Honestly, this was the best service by far and we've been to many high end restaurants. They took fault right away and took care of everything without us having to ask. I was shocked by them giving us new sides since we were fine with the original ones. Major kudos in my book - just made me a lifetime DTLA Flemings customer.
The fire alarms and strob lights went off several times while we were there. We did get an apololgy and explanation that it had been happening due to construction elsewhere in the building. In addition to that noise, the restaruant was very noisy & crowded. The food however was delicious. The wine list by the glass was amazing. Just what we all needed after having little food during our week attending a conference and convention.
The waitress we had didn't want to refill the bread order we requested after it ran out between three people. My friends and I had to request a refill of bread from the bus boy because out waitress refused to bring us any. It took her a while to bring drinks and other small items. When the food did arrive the food was great as it normally is.
So my complaints is about service. I will return again and give them another shot I am sure.
The service at this location was pretty bad. We were there for almost 3 hours (after we were seated). We had to ask for something several times before getting it. The food itself was really good, but overall the Newport beach location is much better. Also, being in downtown LA means fighting traffic and expensive parking.
We were greeted at the door with a smile and promptly taken to our seat. We had a shrimp cocktail that was deveined, firm and delish. We decided on the ceasar salad, new york strip and loaded baked potato and a bottle of wine. The ceasar salad was cold, crunchy and had a great taste and the steak was tender and juicy, it just melted in your mouth.
I would visit here again. Thank you for a nice evening and delicious meal.
i was in the mood for red meat and they did not disappoint. pork belly appetizer, prime rib eye & sauteed mushroom side. meat was a touch more to medium rather than medium rare, but was very good just the same.
excellent service all around
great selections of wine by the bottle and glass
We had a business meeting at the restaurant. Tables and ambiance were great for that. The service started out very attentive, then they seemed to forget to check back and fill waters, drinks, etc. Maybe short staffed at lunchtime.
My meal was disappointing. I had the chicken confit sandwich. I bit into not 1, not 2, but 3 bones. Lost my appetite. Not at all appealing.
One of my coworkers had a grilled cheese panini but the bread was too crispy.
I will say that this wasn't a usual experience for Flemings, but this visit was not a good one.
Ordered the bone-in NY Strip, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Great service and nice hosting work by the staff who were able to accommodate and hold my reservation (despite my being 30 min late, who knew there was also a Hunger Games premier at LA Live that night?) and still seat me right away. Nice work!
My family loves to eat steak and we frequent steak houses quite often but I have to say that Flemings remains one of my favorite restaurants. For one, they have wonderful service, the blue-cheese mash potatoes are out of this world and I love the ambiance not feeling to stuffy. On our last visit to the LA Live location we had Samantha as our waitress and she was so great and attentive. Management was very friendly and took the time to visit tables to greet guests. I've only seen that kind of service once before at my other favorite spot The Ranch in Anaheim and I must say it makes a difference.
Took my wife out after work using a $50 AMEX gift card we received in the mail. Note: My wife and I did not eat any steak, keep that in mind when reading food critique.
For appetizer we had the raw beef carpaccio, which actually was the best part of the meal, and I highly recommend.
The rest of Fleming's food was also great, but not amazing. Scottish salmon was moist, and melt in your mouth, but sauce detracted by being overly salty. Pork chop was huge, and maintained great texture/moisture, but sauce was boring and lacked depth of flavor to compliment the pork.
Service was impeccable, and is one of the highlights I enjoy of fine dining. Our server was knowledgeable even of the non-steak items. His drink recommendations were great also
We went to dinner at Flemings prior to taking in a show at Nokia. We got there relatively early and we were seated immediately. We ordered cocktails and relaxed while we decided what to order. Bruce our waiter made a few recommendations and we decided on the bone in New York, medium rare and the lobster tempura. With a side of mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. All superb!
We were not pushed to finish our meal and by the time we got ready to go, the place was jam packed. If you go, ask to be served by Bruce. However everyone working there was very nice to us!
Was unexpectedly impressed. Haven't been in a while and my fiance did not enjoy the food the last time he went. We ordered the dry aged steak (which not many restaurants serve), so we were pretty excited. Sides: creamed corn, sauteed mushrooms, mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious! The service was friendly and on par. The ambiance was great. Our table was in the separate side room and there was plenty of room. Overall just a good experience - will definitely be going back for more!
Of course Flemings is very expensive, perhaps a tad overpriced, but it's Flemings and it's in the LA Live area. Let's just get that out of the way. Except for the bread (which was meh - although the butter and cheese spreads were GOOD), the food was VERY good. Cesar & Heirloom salads were both fresh & tasty. Newport filet & lobster tempura were both excellent. And, on the recommendation of the waiter, we had the carrot cake (instead of our usual chocolate or creme brûlée) and it was DEVINE. The wine was quite good and very reasonable ($40 bottle). Our waiter & his assistants were very attentive. We were attending a concert at Nokia and we would DEFINITELY go to Flemings again if we go to another concert in the area.
Went for my boyfriend's birthday. Had a great time. Steaks were perfect. Service was remarkable. They charged my card twice without letting me know. Spent time clearing it with my bank first, then the restaurant. About an hour of my time spent on something avoidable. Manager was professional and explained what happened.
My fiancé requested to dine at a steak house for his birthday; therefore, he chose this location. We ordered the French Onion Soup, Main Filet Mignon, Prime New York Strip, Truffle Parsley Mash Potatoes, Sautéed Mushrooms, Green Beans, and the Crème Brulee. Everything was very good. The only thing for me is that I requested my steak well done and it was more of a medium-well. My fiancé had his steak medium-rare and he really liked his steak. Our total was over $160 for two, but the way I did it is I bought some Flemings Gift cards at Costco at a reduced price and that saved us some money. If you are set on dining here and don’t want to spend on the whole steak experience, I recommend you try the small plates at the bar area.
The ambiance here is pretty laid back, but not as dressy as I was expecting it to be. In fact, it’s pretty casual. Our server was friendly and attentive. In fact, at the end of our dinner, he asked if we were celebrating anything and when we stated that we were celebrating a birthday, when he brought our check he also gave us a $25 gift card for a return visit, along with some complimentary truffles.
Overall, we had a nice experience, we would return, and I do recommend it.
