No sommelier. Poor Service. We were seated near the door where there was a cool breeze every time it was opened. The temperature of our steaks was very inconsistent.
We had a lovely evening celebrating 2 family birthdays. The food was excellent!
Flemings is always a great choice for special occasions! Their food, drinks, and service has always been amazing! Recommend the lava cake for dessert...
Just simply amazing place. Highly recommend it for any occasion
Steaks came out well done. Waiter was unprofessional. Not asked for coffee, dessert, nothing. He saw steaks were overdone and did nothing after we mentioned it. Menu has changed and not good. Won't go back.
Michael, our server; and Elizabeth, the manager are fantastic. Michael is a great server and lots of fun! He will be our requested server going forward. Elizabeth is not only professional, but one of the kindest managers I have ever met...we love her!
Great food pricey and good service
Although our meal was great as always, I was saddened that Fleming's has done away with the small-plates portion of the menu and thus with some of the variety (I love steak, but sometimes I would rather make a meal with a few smaller dishes so I can have multiple tastes). And no more prime-rib Sundays? Say it isn't so!
Been dining here for more than 15 years...always excellent, but hit an off night.
Took 55 minutes from time we ordered to get dinner. Waitress didn’t check in with us once. When food finally came sides were screwed up. 2/3 done w meal before corrected.
Amazing time. Anniversary card, truffles, champagne - and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us and make our 15th anniversary the best ever!
Outstanding service for my daughters 40th birthday dinner ! Delicious filet mignon and lobster!
The hostess was friendly and accommodating to our request for a booth. Our server, April, was attentive & friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary and was pleasantly surprised with a box of chocolates and sparkling champagne to end the delicious meal.
We had a reservation at 7:15pm but they did not have a table for us. We had to wait about 20mins. You expect a place of this caliber to have your table ready when reserved. Our table was the closest one next to the entry door and we felt cold drafts of air during the whole meal and heavy traffic in an out of the dining area past our table - worst table of the restaurant. We also ordered a bottle of wine and our entries came before the waiter finally reported to us that our choice was sold out. Service was slow and not personal. Our aged ribeye was not very tasty and a little on the tough side. We have generally been pleased with this restaurant in the past but not this time.
You cannot beat the food here. Our poor server forgot our appetizer so we ended up waiting for an hour before our entrees came with no app. Of course my date sent them back until our first course arrived. The food was excellent however, and dropping $150 on wine is never a bad idea! I wish our server had done something to compensate for his mistake, but alas, I went to the manager just to inform him that it happened. He did end up graciously offering us a $50 GC upon our return, but to be honest, I’m not sure I will for awhile. Who knows! I may crave that burrata sooner rather than later.
One of the best meals e ever had and we come back again.
Stephen at the bar made it an extra special experience.
Extremely poor service. I won’t ever go back here
We were at the Steak and Lobster night and the meal could not have been better. The steak was perfectly done to each of our tastes and grilled lobster perfect. Sides were also good and the service was great. We are never disappointed when we go to Flemings.
Excellent, as always!
The service was always amazing as usual. We had the three-course 12-oz prime rib dinner at a special price and the food was amazing. My wife and I celebrated our birthdays and we were acknowledged at all times. Thanks Fleming's staff for your amazing service!
The waitress Jade Tyler was excellent. She was personable and very attentive. Otherwise the service, was not very good.
Very attentive staff and manager!
My wife birthday, excellent as usual.
Service was off the scale excellent- does not get any better than this. We eat fine dining and these guys are the best . 4 stars only because the prices are high end, 2 people $240 bill. Food was excellent, will go back again and again. Excellent experience and I think better than RC.
A wonderful evening with GREAT service and delicious food!
Everything was perfect. Best steak ever
We have been to Fleming’s many times, this time the food was very good. Better than we have had before.
Valentine’s Day. Busy, as to be expected. Unfortunately we had a repeat of the problem we had 3 weeks earlier for a birthday dinner - filet was overcooked. Waitress said their chef prepares “medium rare” to be “deep pink throughout with a warm center” (other places call that rare so I always ask - I want it pretty rare but not with a cool center). So we both ordered medium rare and like last time, both filets came out mostly grey with pale pink in the middle. Fortunately we decided to check our filets before we packed them up for leftovers this time (we usually eat half and take the other half to go) and were able to let our waitress know the steak was overdone. She immediately had the chef make two more filets and the manager delivered them to ensure the new steaks were prepared correctly. Which they were.
After all that, I realized that one of the two “colossal” shrimp on my plate was not fully cooked (meat was mostly translucent and giggly, not opaque). Since this was the second visit in a month where we had food issues (and we were already planning to take some of my meal for leftovers), I didn’t bother pointing out the shrimp issue too.
These kinds of issues are really out of character for Fleming’s La Jolla. It is the only steak restaurant we go to and it is always on point but sadly, the last two visits were not up to their typical standards. We love Fleming’s and will probably go back again, but for now, neither of us is feeling the urge after these recent underwhelming experiences.
Food was pretty good. One of the shrimps was a bit raw. Salmon was prepared nicely. Steak was a bit salty, but I guess some people like that. Dessert was a couple cookies and a couple strawberries dipped in chocolate.
We have dined at various Flemings many times. We have always enjoyed the food and ambience there.
Food and service were great. Noteworthy, Tyson at the bar and Ryan as our server were both gems - they made our dining experience a special one. And, as expected, the food was outstanding. We'll be back!
Ease of making the reservation was great!!
My husband and I are not big drinkers so our service was under par for sure!!! We were helped far less than those that increased their bills with alcohol... our drinks went empty for at least 20 minutes between refills.
The steak was AMAZING but my lobster tail was terrible... little and tough... far from worth the over$50 I paid!!!
While I may come back for the steak, I may save some money by skipping the lobster and getting an alcoholic beverage... this may also increase the service we receive.
The food is top notch. The steaks are way better than almost any other steakhouse in the area. And believe me I’ve tried em all. I was spoiled when working in Texas and thought nowhere in SD could top it. But I was wrong. Fleming’s has it right.
We haz a good time, a very nice dinner , we will be back ssoon y
Best steak I have ever eaten! Cooked and seasoned perfectly! Server was a bit slow with side dishes and desserts.
Unfortunately, there was a screaming baby which was bad.
My steak was overcooked. I had told the waiter not to overcook
now that flemings is owned by a large corporation, it must have lost management; better to go to another steakhouse; we are having to send the steaks back for being too well done and obnoxious patrons near you are allowed to stay and ruin everyones environment even after repeated requests by various tables; food service is fabulous if you get Ryan Becker; otherwise it is hit and miss; the prices are at the very top of steakhouses anywhere if not over the top
Consistency is the word that comes to mind. A nice ambience, a diversified menu that delivers what it promises and 9 times out of 10 very good service. At the end of the day it is a chain Steakhouse but this particular location always delivers on making you feel like you are in a one off Steakhouse, the people who work there seem to be happy they do and that carries over to your experience.
My fav steakhouse
