Fleming's Steakhouse - Houston Beltway Ratings and Reviews
Did not enjoy the food at all..
Bread was not very hot just warm, and hard to shew
Ordered Filet MW, and I got well done, no taste, no flavor and hard, I will not pay $50 for this kind of a filet again, it should be much better quality, soft, and made as ordered so we can enjoy.
Sorry, will not go back..
Our reservation was for 8:30pm and we got seated at 9:15pm, when initially we where told that they were running 15 min behind. But then again, what is the purpose of a reservation if you are not going to honor the time it was for?
Next, our order was taken at 9:35pm and delivered to our table around 10:20pm. Due to the delay and poor service, our evening plans had to be cancelled.
However, we do need to recognize that the food made up for the terrible service.
Was very unimpressed with the food. The service and staff were very friendly and accommodating ; wine list was also impressive. The ambiance reflects an upscale steakhouse, but the food didn’t keep up. The seafood tower appetizer was dry, and the lobster and shrimp did not resemble “fresh”. The steaks were good, but overpriced. I think there are better values in steakhouses in Houston. I really felt like the staff tried very hard to make us feel at comfortable; just wish the food was equal to the price.
Very special experience. Our guest count changed and I failed to notify or change the reservation. They modified our large table which included totally revamping the table and place settings. It was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was packed. They made it look easy and our party was much more enjoyable with the smaller setup. Love the wine list and the staff working that night were excellent.
Our original waiter disappeared and the manager had to step in to take our order. He assigned an assistant bartender to wait on us after that and he was very good. The wait time between the disappearance of the original waiter and the manager's intervention was disturbing, however.
We visited this restaurant for an adult birthday dinner and had a very pleasant experience. The table surprised us by being nicely prepared with a birthday theme. Every element of the food taste, quality, and presentation was excellent. Even though Flemings is noted for being a steak house, the salmon with barbecue sauce I ordered was among the best servings of salmon I've ever had. Our waiter was also excellent in explaining the menu, providing a wine sample, and allowing us to eat at our own pace. The only hiccup was that our dessert order was delayed a very long time, apparently due to a mix-up in the kitchen, but the staff graciously made up for this by volunteering to not charge us for it. Good job and excellent food!
We go to Fleming's because their steaks are usually very good. But, this time my husband's aged rib eye for $60+ was on the small side. Fleming's has a terrific wine selection but their prices, even for the 'cheap' wines are ridiculously over priced. So the question is, do I ruin my meal with an expensive 'cheap' wine or do I get a good wine and 'pay an arm and a leg, or two'?
Fleming's has priced their meals for the customer with a business expense account. It doesn't make much sense to go there with family and friends for a meal, unless you don't drink alcohol.
The butters that accompanied the bread... I need the recipe :-).
My husband and I came to Fleming's to take advantage of the a kid-free evening. The ambience was wonderful and we were able to take advantage of the Houston Food Week menu on it's last day. Our server Lisa was wonderful. She was very knowledge and added to the lovely ambience. The lemon drop martinis were especially perfect and so was my date! We both enjoyed it!
We had a great date night here, and the restaurant was participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks benifiting the Houston Food Bank. The waiter was very attentive and prompt, the food was delicious and flavourful, and they have a wide selction of wines. The atmosphere was dark and quiet, perfect for a romantic evening.
The overall experience was wonderful from the Hostess that greeted us to the server who was exceptional. There were six of us so we were able to make a broad selection from the menu and all of the items were well prepared and attractive to the eye.
As a bonus, we got two chocolate lava cakes for the table. Wow, what a treat.
