Fleming's Steakhouse - Denver Ratings and Reviews
We had been going to Fleming's probably once a month for years, up until a couple of years ago. This place has changed radically since then. We knew going into this that it's not a cheap night - but the prices have gone up radically since we were last year, and the food quality has gone down. The portions were much smaller and about 50% more expensive. The service was fine and attentive, though.
With all the other upscale options in the Denver Tech Center, I would try them out before going to Fleming's.
My wife and I have eaten at this Fleming's location a number of times since it opened. It is usually very good and a fun place to celebrate a special occasion. On this visit I ordered the 16 oz. dry-aged New York Strip, Medium Rare ($63). It came to the table cooked rare and I had to send it back to be cooked to the temperature I had requested. The chocolate lava cake was great as always. The wedge salad was wonderful.
This was our first experience at Fleming's. They were EXTREMELY busy. Even though we had a reservation for 7:30 we did not get a table until 8:00. Our server, Peter, was amazing though and the restaurant did buy us an appetizer because of the long wait. The food was absolutely outstanding, we both had a fillet and they were cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth tender. I had a shrimp topper on my steak and my wife had mushrooms and both were perfect and plentiful. The Fleming's Potatoes were also great, a different take on scalloped potatoes. The atmosphere was not as intimate or quite as I would have thought it would be or liked it to be. A quite personal conversation with my wife at the same table was almost impossible until the restaurant started to clear out about 3/4 of the way through our meal. If you are there with friends or a group this might be okay, but not for what we were there for, and we even set next to each other at our table rather than across from each other. Did I mention Peter was an amazing server? He was attentive and we never ran out of ice tea or had to ask for anything. All in all, it was a great meal, but with the inability to really have a conversation I don't think it is a place we would frequent.
Though it was a Saturday in December, a reservation is a reservation. Waited almost an hour to be seated. Server didn't know how to smile and brought no personality. Food was excellent, but a $300 meal should be incident free. I'll retreat to Morton's or Ruth's Chris
My wife and I and a friend made a 6:30 reservation well in advance of our Dec 2 dinner only to find a crowd at the entry to the restaurant and a 25 minute wait to get seated. No explanations or apologies were offered, either by the hostess who seated us or by the manager who stopped by, very briefly, to inquire about the food preparation. The food was very good and our server was excellent, but the wait was unacceptable.
I ordered seafood ciopino on the fall harvest menu. Kind of disappointed with the dish. Not a lot of seafood in the dish. Lots of gnocchi, 3 shrimps, small chunk of sea bass fish, and a couple of small king crab legs. Flavor was not all there. Had better in San Francisco. Husband and kids ordered steaks. Steaks were great though.
It was a fantastic evening from start to finish. We went for a birthday celebration and they outdid themselves in serving us. Marshal was a terrific waiter. Food was exactly as ordered and delicious. Molly came over and took our picture for the event and gave us a copy in a small frame. They delivered a lovely box of scrumptious chocolate truffles. The box even had a sparkler lit on delivery. It was really a memorable birthday evening!
Fleming's is just down the street from our house so we go there from time to time. We recently went for my husband's birthday. They made him feel very special with a personalized card, and a box of WONDERFUL truffles to take home. Their filet's are the best and I've never ordered anything else there (except burgers at happy hour which are also very good).
What struck me this time is that all the food was HOT when they served it, which I appreciate. The brussel sprouts and the Fleming's potatoes were an ideal paring with the filets. No room for dessert but the truffles were perfect after we got home. Thank you Fleming's!
I don’t know many good things I can say about Fleming’s. They are simply one of the best restaurants in town. I had the surf and turf with a filet and lobster tail, and it was Devine. Started the table off with a parm crusted bread and a couple of cheese spreads ( one a champagne Bree and the other a smoked cheddar). Fantastic! I ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing was perfect. They also had (fried?) capers and prosciutto which gave it a great twist of flavor. The entree was cooked to perfection and had added bernaise and everything was cooked perfectly and could not have been any better. I also had the Fleming’s potatoes and they came out perfectly prepared and tasted great. I finished up with a chocolate lava cake that I have to say is the best I ever had. There are certain dishes I always order and see if any new place I try can dethroan my favorite and Flemings has held the title for a number of years. If you love chocolate, this hands down can not be beat. The service was spot on as usual and our waitress was attentive friendly and a genuinely sweet person. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Eagerly looking forward to my next visit and if you are looking for a fantastic steak look no further as they are the top of the town in my book.
People were quite kind and accommodating. However, the bread tasted "stale" and exploded all over with no real taste but it was explained that it was "rustic". Yuck is what I said. We did not eat but a taste. The "special Cream Corn" which I have had many times and in many other places tasted warmed over. It was so thick we could hardly chew/swallow. Just plain icky. Meat was good. Wine was good and recommended. Just ok I would say for an overall visit. Something has changed...
As always, the food was delicious, and the service very good. Would like to see a few more smaller choices for smaller appetites. Had the mushroom ravioli as an entre with side salad, and was just right. Two dining partners had steak, and third dining partner had small plate sliced filet, another choice for a smaller appetite. Enjoyed the evening very much.
