Fleming's Steakhouse - DC Ranch Ratings and Reviews
We thought we loved Flemmings but we realize other steak houses in the area are more reasonable and the food is better. The bread brought to the table was no longer a warm loaf....it was a cold, crumbly roll. Our 1st course Bacon ...was half the size it was the last time we were there. My steak was good but my crab legs were so soooo fishy tasting...obviously old and frost bitten...the worst I ever had. Our spinach was runny and dull tasting. Our $10 bottle of Red Diamond wine was a surprise at $80. We were so rushed we had no idea that was the cost until we received the bill. It was an over $300 bill for two of us...extremely disappointing experience
The restaurant was almost impossible to find. We spent 20 minutes trying to find it, called twice and received verbal directions that made no sense when tried. Finally located it by walking in the rain and ruining my wife’s shoes. It was hidden behind another restaurant. Will never return!
i expected wait staff to be more professional, found them to be less than - inturrupted without reason - bumped my chair on 3 different occasions (and only once apologized) - wait staff should be trained to be a seamless experience, not a "part" of my date ...
Our reservation was for 5:30 yet when we ordered the restaurant was already out of baked potatoes. I find having an item on a menu and then not being able to serve it when only being open for one and a half hours disappointing. Also the food we were served although good, it was just warm. I am not speaking of just one item but everything. Lastly the restaurant was staffed for a very busy turnout and the poor young men trying to look busy themselves never quit walking around. Back and forth in front of our table asking over and over if there anything we needed. At this caliber of restaurant wait staff should be able to position themselves where they can see to the needs of the table without smothering.
We stopped by here later in the evening and had a quick and quiet dinner at the bar. The server/ bartender was very helpful and pleasant. the food was fairly predictable but still nice enough. Ones doesn't expect value at place like this, but the atmosphere was quite nice in that it was quieter than usual.
We were there for a Birthday celebration and the staff treated us very well.
Drink service fast and efficient. We did not order appetizers, but, the Caesar salads and Lobster Bisque were all excellent. Steaks were done perfectly to order and were tender and tasty. Lamb Chops were chewy and our dining companion was too kind to send them back so she left them on the plate (no one noticed so may be a training need). We shared the carrot cake and turtle pie and both were excellent as advertised by the server. Staff is the bright spot here. They were attentive, used names and checked in frequently. The GM stopped by a few times too which tells me they care about the guests experience. We'll be back!
Was not impressed with the butter cake. It was heavy and dry. Since it was the featured dessert of the evening, this was surprising to us. Also, my husband's lobster was not cooked. Had to send it back. Of course, they promptly replaced it. The service was excellent. Just thought the dessert was not up to par.
