Fleming's Steakhouse - Austin Ratings and Reviews
Great food, excellent service that made for a wonderful evening out.
Only minor issue is that there weren't many diners and we were seated near to the door to a private party that was loud and kept leaving the door open. Not really Fleming's fault, but they could have seated us farther away. It did not ruin the evening, just a distractor....or, maybe it's that I'm getting old and I can't hear above crowds, anymore, either.
I highly recommend Fleming's.
Probably the best steak I've *ever* had, and I eat a lot of steak. This was a total cut above. The service was absolutely amazing. Attentive, friendly, and helpful, without being annoying or in-your-face. We had a very late reservation, and we ended up being the last people in the restaurant. The wait staff was super professional, and didn't make us feel rushed or anything. It felt like we were no bother at all. I can't say enough good things about this place.
Overall it was a very enjoyable meal. The only issue with the meal was that I ordered my fillet medium and it was medium rare to medium. I did eat the steak as it came, and it was good but I have had better tasting fillets. The side dishes (mushroom saute and Fleming potatoes) were both outstanding. Service was overall above average and the waiter did an outstanding job helping me to select a dinner wine. Dessert (cheesecake) was fabulous. Would return again.
They added extra tables for NYE and ours was in the middle of what is normally a space between the tables. Waiters had trouble getting around our table. Filet was really overcooked and margarita was way too strong. My wife's meal was fine so at least one of us had a good steak. So to summarize, really loud environment (too many people in small area), 1 bad steak and bad drink.
Food was ok, but definitely not worth their prices. We regularly go to Bob’s (I had actually been a few days before), Capital Grill, Eddie V’s and other steakhouses so ate familiar with what to expect. 2 people in our party ordered the dry aged strip to share. Instead a thin, fatty, gristly ribeye was served. My 2 biggest issues were that no one ever came back to see if things were ok, and that even if I had ordered/wanted a ribeye it would have been bad.
Very very disappointing. Over priced and over rated. The main idea was for them to get us in and out AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!! Not how we wanted to spend our Thanksgiving dinner! Noisy too.
As soon as er were seated we had to choose: soup or salad; entre; and rven dessert!! Rush, rush, rush. Wine choice was also rushed. I chose a Meiomi pont noir: $19 retail; $62 at your over rated gyp joint.
The tutkry lookrd processed, not natural. The small sides were not enough for 3 people; the cranberry servings were miniscule
My wife and I had lobster bisque; which was cold and had to be sent back
Only 3 dessert choices...on Thanksgiving!!
Bottom line: It sucked. You ruined our day. We will not be back! We will tell others.
Everything was pretty phenomenon, and the server was nice, but the order was wrong and we were overcharged. I didn't notice until after the card was run, otherwise I'd have mentioned it. It was more food than I wanted and an extra 15 dollars. Not terribly happy with only that aspect.
Stopped in on a whim with the family (including two toddlers). While you don't see a lot of children at Fleming's the restaurant DOES cater to children! Our kids were immediately given crayons and coloring pages along with the kids menus to order from ASAP. Our server, Oscar, was very attentive and took care of our kids perfectly. Great meal and great experience.
Great food... spinach salads, petite filet, Kobe ribeye, bacon brussel sprouts, all very good. Service was spot on, just the right amount of attention. Very quiet when we got there at 6PM, a good bit louder when we left at 7:30. Noise level (lack thereof) was still head and shoulders better than the location in the Domain (won't dine there again). Pricey, but good.
Consistent service and food. Very responsive to special requests, including providing special wine request decanter-ed upon arrival. A recent 16 guest event was enhanced by offer of special room and dedicated server. In this case, Kemp Gorman, worked two shifts to be there per my request. Appointment coordination and accommodation of headcount adjustments were handled and confirmed via email. My favorite steak house in downtown Austin.
Not a bad place. The steaks my wife and I ordered were ok, not great. Temperature and seasoning were fine but the steaks were a little dry. Overall, it's a fine restaurant but I think a few other fine dining steakhouse restaurants in the downtown area (e.g. III Forks, Perry's, ALC, Eddie V) are much better.
