Fleming's Steakhouse - Austin Ratings and Reviews
Stopped in on a whim with the family (including two toddlers). While you don't see a lot of children at Fleming's the restaurant DOES cater to children! Our kids were immediately given crayons and coloring pages along with the kids menus to order from ASAP. Our server, Oscar, was very attentive and took care of our kids perfectly. Great meal and great experience.
Great food... spinach salads, petite filet, Kobe ribeye, bacon brussel sprouts, all very good. Service was spot on, just the right amount of attention. Very quiet when we got there at 6PM, a good bit louder when we left at 7:30. Noise level (lack thereof) was still head and shoulders better than the location in the Domain (won't dine there again). Pricey, but good.
Consistent service and food. Very responsive to special requests, including providing special wine request decanter-ed upon arrival. A recent 16 guest event was enhanced by offer of special room and dedicated server. In this case, Kemp Gorman, worked two shifts to be there per my request. Appointment coordination and accommodation of headcount adjustments were handled and confirmed via email. My favorite steak house in downtown Austin.
Not a bad place. The steaks my wife and I ordered were ok, not great. Temperature and seasoning were fine but the steaks were a little dry. Overall, it's a fine restaurant but I think a few other fine dining steakhouse restaurants in the downtown area (e.g. III Forks, Perry's, ALC, Eddie V) are much better.
The filet was very good! The sides came out burnt, then asked to have it taken back, which they did. But the second serving was burnt as well. Requested sauce on the side, but did not come out that way. For the price I expected more. Have been to other Flemings in other towns and it's usually very good. Would recommend u make sure you get what you pay for.
We went for the advertised special, Prime Rib dinner for $29 on Monday. This was advertised by a direct email to my account. We were informed that they had run out of the special even though is was only 6:15pm. This is the second time this has happened. This is too good of a restaurant to be pulling a "bait and switch" on it's regular customers. We will avoid going there again.
Came after my newest was born, promptly seated and offered wine, ordered a cocktail which was delicious, steak was perfectly done and the truffled lobster excellent, my main complaint is the presentation of the food I would expect some effort when it comes to plating, the side of potatoes was atrocious at best they cut them out of a pan slap them on a souffle dish and run them through the broiler it looked like a baked wallet, they were so over done only about the middle 1/4 inch was even edible, and when you spend 100 bucks a person on a meal you expect it to look and taste good, may explain why there was only 4 tables sat on a Friday night....
Awesome experience! Celebrated my wife's birthday and couldn't have asked for better service. Our server, Oscar, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The Service Manager, Peter, personally came by to wish my wife a happy birthday and genuinely cared about how our experience was. Probably the best overall dining and service experience since we've been in Austin over the past 2 years (that includes some of the same priced, big name establishments in downtown). The food was cooked perfectly and as requested. Thank you to Oscar, Peter and the entire team for making the night memorable.
Walked in and was greeted promptly by hostess, reservation found and seated with booth or table preferences. Waiter was skilled and polite, both my wife's and my wine glasses had lipstick on them not a little smudge but full lip imprints, a little disappointing from a steakhouse of this caliber. The bread unfortunately stale/dried out and the sides were lackluster especially the macaroni. The steak however was cooked perfectly with wonderful texture. The other issues were simply too much to be made up for by the steak especially from a restaurant in this price point. Little disappointed as I was told how wonderful Fleming's was by family, maybe just this location. Probably will not return, ate on a Saturday night 8:30pm was half empty.
Excellent food, service and ambience.
Fleming's attention to the customer make this an immediate favorite dining spot.
Tenderloin carpaccio, tempura lobster, filets, crab claws and tomahawk ribeye were excellent
Shaved brussell sprouts and Fleming Potatoes were perfect sides.
Dessert and coffee were a proper finish to the evening.
Will return soon, recommending to friends and colleagues.
Special thanks to George, his wait service team, and drop by greeting from operating partner, Brian.
